Streamlabs Talk Studio lets you schedule a prerecorded video as a YouTube broadcast, but YouTube’s Premiere feature is created separately by uploading the video in YouTube Studio and selecting “Set as Premiere.” Choose Talk Studio for a scheduled prerecorded live event; use YouTube Studio when you want the Premiere watch page and its countdown and chat experience.
What Talk Studio schedules—and what YouTube calls a Premiere
Talk Studio’s scheduler offers “Live-stream” and “Pre-recorded video” event types. Its instructions describe the latter as a scheduled broadcast, not as a YouTube Premiere. The available documentation does not establish a direct way to convert a Talk Studio event into a Premiere or to create one from Talk Studio. Streamlabs’ scheduling instructions and YouTube’s Premiere instructions document distinct setup paths.

Schedule a prerecorded video through Talk Studio
- Confirm YouTube readiness. You need a verified channel without live-streaming restrictions in the prior 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until the scheduled start. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Connect YouTube as a destination. In Talk Studio, make sure the YouTube account is connected and available as a destination.
- Open Talk Studio’s broadcast scheduler. Create a scheduled event and choose “Pre-recorded video,” rather than “Live-stream.” Follow the scheduler to select YouTube and provide the recording and event details.
- Check the current limits before relying on the schedule. Streamlabs’ scheduling page lists a 5 GB file limit, a one-hour maximum on Standard, a two-hour maximum on Pro/Ultra, and scheduling within a 50-day window. These are product and plan limits that may change; confirm what the scheduler permits in your account before preparing or announcing the event.
- Verify the resulting YouTube event. Treat it as a scheduled live broadcast unless the current Talk Studio interface explicitly offers a Premiere option and current official documentation confirms that workflow. Share the event link only after checking what viewers will actually see.
Streamlabs also describes sharing an MP4 through Talk Studio screen sharing, but that capability does not establish Premiere integration. Its prerecorded-video guidance concerns streaming a recorded video as a live broadcast: How to Live Stream Pre-Recorded Video and Talk Studio Screen Sharing.

Create the Premiere in YouTube Studio
- Upload the video in YouTube Studio.
- To schedule it, set its date and time, then check “Set as Premiere.” For an immediate Premiere, choose public visibility and “Set as instant Premiere.”
- Allow processing to finish before an instant Premiere starts. Check the Premiere’s watch page and settings before sharing it.
- Check YouTube’s current format limitations: its Premiere instructions say Shorts, 360/VR180 video, and outputs above 1080p are not supported for Premieres.
For the current steps and feature details, use YouTube’s Premiere help page. This is an upload-and-Premiere workflow, not the Talk Studio prerecorded-event scheduler.

- Choose YouTube Studio if you specifically want a Premiere watch page, viewer reminders, and the Premiere countdown and chat experience.
