The available PageCrawl.io sources do not document a tool for generating social media preview images from a URL. Its official pricing and help pages describe website monitoring and related features, not social-image creation. If you need a new share image, use a service that documents image generation; if you already have an image, check that your page’s social metadata points to it.

What PageCrawl.io’s documented features establish

PageCrawl.io’s pricing and features page describes website monitoring plans, while its help-center feature index presents monitoring features. Neither source establishes that PageCrawl.io generates a social media preview image from a URL. So there is no verified PageCrawl.io image-generation workflow to follow here.

This distinction matters: a monitoring service tracks website availability or changes; an image generator creates a new graphic; and a preview checker inspects the social metadata already on a page. The documented PageCrawl.io material supports the first category, not the latter two.

Generate a social preview image from a URL with a documented tool

As an example of the image-generator category, OpenGraph.io describes templates that can be created using a website URL, a text brief, or creative direction. That establishes a possible workflow with OpenGraph.io, not a PageCrawl.io feature. Its product description does not establish export specifications or image dimensions, so check the service’s current interface for those details.

  1. Choose a source. Provide the website URL, a text brief, or creative direction to the template workflow described by OpenGraph.io’s social preview templates page.
  2. Create the image. Use the service’s template process to produce the graphic you intend to use. The cited description does not specify the exact controls or export options.
  3. Publish the image at a stable, publicly accessible URL. Use that image URL in the page’s social metadata. The generator description does not state hosting requirements; the key practical check is that the page’s metadata points to the image you intend platforms to use.
  4. Check the live page. Inspect the published page’s metadata and preview, rather than assuming that generating an image automatically updates the page or its social share card.

Check the page’s metadata and preview separately

Generating a graphic and configuring a page to use it are separate jobs. OpenGraph.io’s Social Preview Tool describes checking Open Graph properties such as og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url, and og:type, as well as Twitter/X card fields. It also describes simulated platform previews.

After publishing, inspect the page URL and confirm that og:image resolves to the intended image and that the title and description are correct. Review the tool’s simulated preview for the page you entered. OpenGraph.io also describes image creation and metadata optimization on its social preview optimization page; those capabilities should not be confused with PageCrawl.io’s documented monitoring features.

A checker reports what it finds and can simulate a preview; it does not establish that every social platform will fetch or render the page identically. Check the live page and the platform where you plan to share it after making changes. The cited descriptions do not establish platform-wide rendering guarantees or cache-refresh timing.

ScreenshotNeo: an alternative for capturing a page, not generating its share-card image

If your goal is a clean visual capture of a web page rather than a newly designed Open Graph image, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. It is not presented here as an Open Graph image generator: a screenshot capture and a social preview graphic serve different purposes.

Capture a page with one request

For example, this cURL request saves a WebP screenshot of a page. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for configuration and parameter details.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

Equivalent Python and Node.js requests:

import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);

Or skip the browser setup

ScreenshotNeo accepts a URL in one GET request. Before capture, it can accept cookie or consent banners and remove more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each of those steps can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. An MCP server provides screenshot tools for AI agents. The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots. These are screenshot captures, not newly generated social-card artwork.

Sign up for 1,000 free screenshots a month, with no card required.
