Technically, yes; permission is a separate question. OneStream Live can deliver pre-recorded or real-time streams to YouTube, but using it does not give you the rights to rebroadcast someone else’s music video. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may replace the stream with a placeholder, warn you, interrupt the broadcast, or terminate it. Before going live, get permission covering the particular music video and ask the relevant rights owner to add your YouTube channel to its Content ID allowlist.

What OneStream Live can do—and what it cannot

OneStream Live documents pre-recorded streaming, a browser-based studio, and encoder streaming. YouTube is among its supported destinations, and its documentation describes scheduling pre-recorded video and YouTube-only 24/7 looping. These are delivery features: they explain how video can be sent to YouTube, not whether you are authorized to send a particular video.

OneStream Live does not itself grant permission to use third-party music videos or override YouTube’s copyright matching and enforcement. Uploading a file, scheduling it, or looping it continuously does not change the rights question. OneStream Live’s documentation describes its streaming capabilities; YouTube’s rules determine how its platform handles detected third-party content.

What YouTube may do when it detects copyrighted content

YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted material in another live broadcast. If a match is detected, YouTube may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn the streamer to stop using the content. If it remains, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the live stream. A copyright or Community Guidelines strike can also terminate it. See YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams.

If you choose to archive the broadcast, claims on the archived stream are handled after the live broadcast. That is different from live enforcement: an archive claim does not mean the live stream was cleared to run.

A license may not be enough to prevent a live interruption

YouTube warns that a stream can be interrupted even when the creator has a license. The channel may also need to be added to the rights owner’s Content ID allowlist. YouTube says this can apply even if the creator restricts the stream to territories where they have the necessary rights. Contact the rights owner or its administrator before streaming and confirm that the specific channel has been allowlisted.

Do not assume that buying a copy of a video, owning an audio file, or subscribing to a music service grants livestreaming rights. The relevant permission must cover the particular audiovisual work and the intended use. The rights and territorial scope depend on the work and the license; neither can be determined from the fact that a file plays or that a service permits access to it.

Before scheduling a music-video stream

  1. Identify the exact material. List each music video you plan to use, including the recording and the audiovisual video, rather than treating a song title or downloaded file as sufficient identification.
  2. Obtain permission for the intended use. Confirm with the relevant rights owner that the permission covers streaming that specific video live on YouTube and the territories in which you plan to make it available. If terms are unclear, ask the owner or a qualified legal professional; YouTube’s platform guidance does not determine the scope of an individual license.
  3. Request Content ID allowlisting. Give the owner or administrator your YouTube channel details and ask them to confirm that the channel is on the allowlist before you go live. A license without this operational step may not prevent an automated interruption.
  4. Keep written records. Retain the permission and confirmation of allowlisting, including any limits on territory, duration, or use. Check that the planned stream fits those terms.
  5. Only then set up delivery. Configure OneStream Live or another delivery method after the rights questions are addressed. Technical setup cannot substitute for clearance.

What cannot be decided without the specific license and video

No general answer can establish which rights a particular creator needs for a particular music video, whether a license covers YouTube live streaming, whether the rights owner will allowlist the channel, or how copyright law applies in every jurisdiction. Those questions depend on the work, license wording, intended territories, and rights-owner confirmation. Do not treat a successful test or an uninterrupted first broadcast as proof that future streams are authorized or will remain online.

Or let it run in the cloud

If your separate goal is to keep an already-cleared YouTube video stream running without leaving a computer on, StreamNeo is a cloud service for looping uploaded videos on YouTube. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It does not grant music-video rights, so clear the content and confirm allowlisting first.
