Yes—sometimes. KeyBudz HyperFoam is a low-cost replacement ear tip, not an audio-electronics upgrade. If your Apple tips leak, loosen, or fail to isolate, the foam can improve the seal and make the same AirPods Pro sound fuller, with stronger perceived bass and clearer detail. If Apple’s tips already fit securely, you may hear little difference—or simply prefer the silicone sound.
The most defensible verdict is fit-dependent: HyperFoam’s main upgrade is stability, comfort and passive isolation. Any sound improvement follows from that fit and is not guaranteed for every listener.
What HyperFoam changes—and what it does not

Why a different tip can sound better
A seal can restore missing bass
Low frequencies escape most readily through gaps. When an Apple tip does not seal, music can sound thin even though the AirPods’ electronics are working normally. A foam tip that closes the gap can restore bass and make the presentation seem fuller. Apple explicitly says that a proper seal supports richer bass, sound quality and noise cancellation. Isolation changes what you hear
More passive isolation means less traffic, conversation and cabin noise competing with the music. That can make vocals and detail easier to notice and may let you listen at a lower volume. HyperFoam does not create active noise cancellation; it may simply give the AirPods’ existing ANC a more consistent acoustic seal.
Stability prevents tonal swings
An AirPod that shifts while you walk, talk or chew can repeatedly lose its seal. A grippier tip may make bass and volume perception more consistent even if it has not changed the measured frequency response.

Bore changes are possible, but unproven

Does it universally improve sound?
No. Positive Head-Fi reports describe fuller bass, stronger vocals, comfort and isolation, while an Apple World Today hands-on account found the tips comfortable for hours but heard no audible improvement. “Better” can also mean different things: more pleasing, bassier, quieter, more stable or more detailed. It does not necessarily mean more neutral or technically more accurate. For a fair comparison, switch between Apple and HyperFoam tips at the same volume, use the same familiar track, and repeat the swap several times. A louder or tighter-sealed tip can otherwise create a false impression of improvement.

Run Apple’s fit test with the included tips before spending money. The path for AirPods Pro 1 and 2 is Settings > Bluetooth > More Info next to AirPods > Ear Tip Fit Test. Installation and sizing
- Grip the Apple tip close to its base and pull it straight off with steady pressure.
- Align the HyperFoam tip with the AirPod’s oval connector.
- Push until it is fully seated, then tug gently to confirm it is secure.
- Start with the same size you use in Apple’s tips, then test each ear independently.
- Insert the AirPods and allow the foam to settle before judging the seal.

After fitting, walk, speak and chew. A seal that works while sitting can fail as your jaw moves. Use Apple’s test as a useful indication, not a guarantee that a third-party tip will remain stable in every activity.

Foam may reduce slipping and pressure for some ears, while others dislike the warmth, expansion or plugged-up sensation. SecureGrip is advertised to improve retention during movement, but it is not independent proof that the tips cannot fall out during exercise. Start with walking and light activity, and do not treat the tips as waterproof or sweatproof without an explicit rating. (KeyBudz launch announcement)
There is not enough independent evidence to promise a service life. KeyBudz emphasizes material testing and durability, while a Reddit report describes tearing or loss of seal on a Pro 3 use case; that complaint may not apply identically to the original model. (user report) Remove tips carefully, keep them away from excess moisture, and replace them when the foam no longer recovers its shape or the seal becomes unreliable.
