Does a 24/7 livestream change how membership payments work?
No separate payment rule for 24/7 livestreams is described in YouTube’s guidance. A membership is for a channel and its perks, such as badges, emoji, and members-only content; it is not a one-time ticket to watch a particular livestream. Whether the channel happens to be live continuously does not establish which payment methods YouTube will offer.

Is UPI accepted for a prepaid membership?
The official documentation cited here does not say whether UPI is accepted at checkout for a prepaid channel membership. It also does not say that UPI is rejected. The reliable way to find out for your account is to open the channel’s Join or membership option in YouTube and check the payment methods shown before confirming.

Google also notes that India’s e-mandate requirements can affect recurring payments and that a bank may not support them. How to check the payment options for your account
- Open YouTube and go to the participating channel whose membership you want.
- Select Join or the channel’s membership option and review the plans shown. Availability can depend on the channel, country or region, and platform.
- At checkout, inspect the payment methods offered for your account. Choose UPI only if YouTube displays it for that purchase.
- Review the billing terms shown for the plan before confirming; a prepaid plan and a recurring plan are not interchangeable.
