Grok Bot can help with transaction-related administration, such as working through an invoice workflow, but xAI’s guidance puts consequential steps under your control: set clear boundaries for purchases and transfers, and personally handle payment confirmations and authentication. It is an AI agent that works across apps and websites—not a wallet, bank, or payment processor.
What Grok Bot is—and what “payments” can mean
Grok Bot is different from simply asking Grok a question. xAI describes it as an AI teammate that uses a persistent cloud computer with a browser, filesystem, and terminal to work across apps and websites. You message the Bot, provide context and access to tools, and it can carry out multi-step work, returning to you when approval is needed. See xAI’s Grok Bot overview.
The product entered beta on August 11, 2026. xAI’s launch announcement describes Bots working inside tools and apps, including an internal example of processing invoices received in Gmail. That example supports describing invoice-related workflow assistance; it does not establish that Grok Bot independently authorizes, clears, or settles payments.
There are two different questions behind “Grok Bot payments”:

- Working on a transaction: whether the Bot can assist in an external app or website where a purchase or transfer might occur.
The documented product behavior supports workflow assistance with user control over consequential actions, not autonomous payment processing.
What the Bot can do around a transaction
Preparation and administration
When given the required access, the Bot may work in an app or website to organize information and assist with invoice-related workflows. xAI’s Gmail invoice example is a workflow example, not evidence of a completed money transfer or payment authorization.

Purchases and transfers require boundaries
xAI’s security guidance says to set explicit boundaries for sensitive actions, including purchases and financial transfers, and to inspect the target, scope, and values before approving an action. Treat any proposed transaction as consequential: make sure you understand what would happen before you approve it.
You handle confirmation and authentication
xAI’s instruction is direct: “For passwords, passkeys, two-factor codes, CAPTCHAs, and payment confirmations, the Bot should hand you control of the computer.” Complete those steps yourself through the handoff. Do not put passwords or one-time codes into ordinary chat.

A cautious way to use Grok Bot for transaction-related work
- Begin with a low-risk task. Ask it to sort invoice details or prepare a reconciliation draft rather than to send money.
- State the stopping point. Tell it that it may gather or reconcile information but must stop before a purchase, transfer, or payment confirmation.
- Inspect any approval request. Check the proposed target, scope, and values. If an approval card is unclear, ask for a plain-language explanation before deciding.
- Take over for sensitive steps. Personally enter sign-in credentials, two-factor codes, CAPTCHA responses, and payment confirmations when the Bot hands control back to you.
- Check access and billing separately. Before buying or changing Grok access, confirm which eligible plan and purchase channel apply to your account.
How to get Grok Bot access
The current official overview says Grok Bot is included with every paid individual Cursor plan and the Cursor Teams plan. It also says users can link an individual SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus, or SuperGrok Heavy subscription. xAI’s August 26, 2026 plan announcement lists those access routes and says Grok Bot usage is separate from Grok and Cursor plan usage. Eligibility and availability can change, so check the current plan details before subscribing.
Where to manage Grok subscription payments
Billing changes and refund requests depend on how you purchased a consumer Grok subscription, according to xAI’s billing guidance.
