Yes, if CameraFi Live can see the video in its source picker. CameraFi Live for Android supports video files as broadcast sources and lists YouTube as a destination. However, its published instructions describe selecting gallery videos; they do not confirm that a particular removable SD-card file will be selectable on every phone or app version.
What CameraFi Live supports
CameraFi Live’s Android guide says its Video menu can add video files, alongside the phone’s built-in camera, a USB external camera and image files. Its video-source manual shows users opening the Video menu, tapping the add button and choosing an image or video from the gallery. CameraFi’s Android beginner guide · CameraFi’s video-source manual

The distinction is access to the file, not whether video files are supported at all: documentation supports video-file sources, but does not establish a universal way to browse removable SD cards from CameraFi.
How to try streaming an SD-card video
- Check that Android can access the clip. Open the phone’s gallery or file picker and look for the video. Confirm the SD card is mounted. If the file is absent from CameraFi later, check that the phone recognizes the card and that CameraFi has the media or storage access requested by your Android version. Permission names and picker behavior vary by device and Android version.
- Open CameraFi Live and choose YouTube. Follow the app’s YouTube broadcast setup and sign in when prompted. CameraFi’s YouTube guide says live streaming must be enabled for the account; activation can take time. See CameraFi’s YouTube setup guide and check YouTube’s current requirements and interface, which can change.
- Add the video source. Open CameraFi’s Video menu, tap the plus/add control, and select the clip if it appears in the gallery or file picker. This is the documented workflow for video files.
- Finish the broadcast setup and go live. Before a public broadcast, make a short private or unlisted test if you need to verify that the clip plays as expected and that its audio, orientation and aspect ratio are suitable.
If CameraFi cannot find the SD-card file
- Check that the card is mounted and the video is visible outside CameraFi in the gallery or file picker.
- Review CameraFi’s current media/storage permissions in Android settings; exact labels and behavior depend on the Android version and phone.
- If the clip is visible elsewhere but not in CameraFi’s Video source picker, the available documentation does not establish a universal removable-card workaround. CameraFi’s release notes once mentioned changing an SD-card storage path on Android 11, but that historical note does not prove that current versions can directly select every removable-card video. The documented source manual remains gallery-based.
The reviewed CameraFi documentation does not show that you need to buy a new SD card, reader or capture device. First check the phone’s card access, Android version and CameraFi permissions.
