An eight-core Ryzen CPU paired with an RTX 5060 Ti is a plausible setup for 1440p gaming, but the exact results depend on the Ryzen model, the game, graphics settings, and whether you use ray tracing, upscaling, or frame generation. The 16GB RTX 5060 Ti is the safer option for demanding games and higher settings; the 8GB version can still play at 1440p, though some titles may require compromises. No reviewed benchmark tests this exact, unspecified Ryzen-and-GPU combination.
What performance can you expect at 1440p?
There is no single 1440p frame rate for the RTX 5060 Ti. Results change substantially with the game and preset, and with ray tracing, upscaling, and frame generation enabled or disabled. Independent tests illustrate that range:

- GamersNexus measured an average of 57 FPS for the RTX 5060 Ti in its 1440p test of Black Myth: Wukong. In its tested games, the card was 16–39% ahead of the RTX 3060 Ti at 1440p, depending on the title. - PC Gamer’s Palit RTX 5060 Ti 8GB sample averaged 50 FPS, with a 43 FPS 1% low, in Black Myth: Wukong at 1440p High. In Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p RT Ultra, it averaged 33 FPS, with a 25 FPS 1% low. - TechSpot reported a 49 FPS average for the 16GB card across its selected set of seven ray-tracing games at 1440p. That average describes those games and test conditions, not all ray-traced games. TechSpot’s RTX 5060 Ti 16GB review
Use those figures as examples of specific test cases, not as a promise for a complete PC. Driver versions, game updates, graphics settings, and the rest of the system can also affect results.

Should you choose the 8GB or 16GB RTX 5060 Ti?
The main practical difference is graphics-memory headroom. The 16GB model is the more cautious choice if you want to use demanding settings in newer games. The 8GB card is not automatically unsuitable for 1440p, but its limits can show up in particular titles and settings.

- Choose 16GB if: you want more room for demanding games and higher settings, especially where graphics-memory use is a concern.
- Consider 8GB if: you are comfortable lowering some settings when a game runs into a memory or performance limit.
Evidence points in both directions: TechSpot found the 8GB card had difficulties in its test of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, while PC Gamer’s 1440p results show the 8GB Palit sample producing playable averages in some games. What do native rendering, DLSS, ray tracing, and frame generation change?
They describe different ways of producing the image and can make benchmark numbers look unlike one another. Native rendering means the game is rendered at the target resolution without upscaling. DLSS Super Resolution renders from a lower internal resolution and upscales the image. Ray tracing adds demanding lighting effects. Frame generation creates additional frames; the resulting displayed frame rate is not the same as the rate of conventionally rendered frames.

NVIDIA’s 1440p comparison uses maximum settings with DLSS Super Resolution and Ray Reconstruction, and may use Multi Frame Generation on RTX 50-series cards where available. Those are vendor figures for a feature-enabled scenario, not native-rendering FPS and not directly comparable with independent tests using different configurations. NVIDIA states that the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is significantly faster than the RTX 4060 Ti in 1440p gaming; that is the manufacturer’s comparison, rather than an independent finding. No. Core count alone does not identify the processor’s performance or establish whether it will limit a particular game. The Ryzen model and generation matter, as do the game and the frame rate you are targeting. A GPU-focused review result cannot confirm how an unspecified Ryzen CPU will perform alongside the RTX 5060 Ti, and the benchmarks cited here do not test that exact pairing.

To assess a complete system, look for tests using the same Ryzen model, memory configuration, game, resolution, and settings. If you already own the PC, compare performance in your own games at the settings you intend to use rather than relying on the “eight-core” label.

- Game and version, including any relevant game updates.
- Resolution and graphics preset.
- Ray tracing status and quality level.
- Native rendering or an upscaling mode such as DLSS Super Resolution.
- Whether frame generation is enabled.
- Average FPS and 1% lows; the latter help show how low performance falls during the slower moments captured by the test.
- GPU memory capacity and, for a full-system comparison, the Ryzen model and memory configuration.
A benchmark with a higher average is not necessarily the closer match if it uses upscaling or frame generation and your comparison does not. Check the test conditions before drawing a conclusion about your own 1440p setup.
