1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsYes, you can stream prerecorded meditation videos without OBS—but a playlist by itself cannot start a YouTube livestream. YouTube needs an encoder or equivalent service to play the videos and send a live feed. The playlist supplies the content; software, a cloud service, or dedicated hardware does the broadcasting.
Why a playlist cannot replace an encoder
A regular YouTube channel playlist is a collection of uploaded videos for viewers to watch. It is not an incoming live feed. YouTube explains that an encoder converts video into a digital format for streaming and connects to YouTube Live using the server URL and stream key. OBS is one possible encoder, but it is not the only one. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.

There is also a technical use of the word “playlist” in YouTube’s HLS documentation: an HLS media playlist orders the media segments sent by an encoder. That is part of a live-ingestion protocol, not the channel playlist feature. The distinction is described in YouTube’s HLS documentation for encoder vendors.
Ways to stream prerecorded meditation videos
These options differ mainly in where playback and encoding happen, how you queue or schedule videos, and what equipment must stay available. StreamNeo is first here as a cloud option for YouTube prerecorded-video streams: it runs continuously from the cloud, supports uploads at up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.

| Option | Where the stream runs | Useful when | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | In the cloud; upload videos, add the YouTube stream key, and go live. | You want an always-on YouTube stream without leaving a computer running. | It is a paid service after the first free day; check the current plan details at StreamNeo pricing. |
| OBS or another local software encoder | On your computer, which plays or assembles the media and sends the feed to YouTube. | You want local control and have a computer and stable upload connection available for the stream. | The computer and stream process need to remain available. OBS does not provide its own streaming servers. OBS is free, open-source software; its project says it can be used commercially without restrictions. See the OBS Help Portal. |
| Another cloud service, such as Gyre | On the service rather than a dedicated local PC. | You want a continuous prerecorded stream managed away from your computer. | Check the provider’s current pricing, limits, and terms before choosing; those details can change. |
| AJA HELO Plus | On a standalone hardware encoder. | You prefer dedicated equipment; YouTube describes its PlayToStream feature as scheduling prerecorded media to YouTube Live without a computer. | It is specialized hardware and may be more than a simple meditation stream requires. YouTube’s encoder directory describes the feature; availability and purchase terms should be checked separately. |
YouTube lists OBS, Gyre, and AJA HELO Plus among encoder options, while noting that verified encoders are not made by YouTube. The right choice depends on whether you want to maintain local equipment, how you will queue or schedule the videos, the support you need, and the service or equipment cost.
Set up a prerecorded meditation livestream
1. Prepare the videos and confirm usage rights
Choose the meditation video or videos you intend to play and decide how they should be queued or repeated in your encoder or streaming service. Confirm that you have rights to every video, music track, and ambient recording included. Permission to use one element does not automatically establish permission to use the others.

- 4K picture quality: With Roku Streaming Stick Plus, watch your favorites with brilliant 4K picture and vivid HDR color.
- Compact without compromises: Our sleek design won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, and it even powers from your TV alone, plugging into the back and staying out of sight. No wall outlet, no extra cords, no clutter.

- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
2. Enable livestreaming and create a YouTube stream
In YouTube Studio, create or select a stream, then connect the encoder or service using the YouTube Live server URL and stream key. YouTube says first-time livestreaming enablement may take up to 24 hours; after it is enabled, a stream can go live instantly. Check YouTube’s current setup instructions for the interface and requirements that apply to your channel.
3. Connect the playback source
With local software such as OBS, add and arrange the media on the computer, then use the encoder to send the resulting feed to YouTube. With a cloud service, upload or select the media there and connect the service to YouTube. With compatible hardware, configure the device’s media scheduling and YouTube connection. In every case, the encoder or service—not the ordinary channel playlist—creates and sends the live feed.

4. Start the stream and check the result
Start the encoder or service and confirm in YouTube Studio that the incoming stream appears and is live. Check that the expected video and audio are playing, and that the queue behaves as intended before relying on a long unattended schedule.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a YouTube-only prerecorded stream, StreamNeo’s setup is: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home. Each slot streams uploaded media at its original quality up to 4K 60fps at one price, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card; after that, Monthly is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo for details, then start the free day.

Common problems and what to check
- You expected a channel playlist to go live on its own: select an encoder or equivalent streaming service to play the videos and send the live feed.
- You do not see an incoming stream in YouTube Studio: check that the encoder is running and that it is configured with the correct YouTube Live server URL and stream key.
- You cannot start a first livestream yet: livestreaming may still be undergoing YouTube’s first-time enablement, which can take up to 24 hours.
- The stream stops when you leave: with a local software encoder, the computer and stream process must stay available. Consider a cloud service or standalone encoder if you do not want to keep a computer running.
- Some meditation audio or video is not cleared: confirm rights for each video, music track, and ambient recording before including it in the stream.
Cost and practical trade-offs
OBS is free, so a paid cloud service or dedicated encoder is not a technical prerequisite for going live. The trade-off is operational: local software uses your computer and connection while streaming; a cloud service shifts playback and streaming off your computer; standalone hardware avoids relying on a general-purpose computer but requires a device. Compare current service terms and hardware availability directly before committing, since they can change.
