A vertical mouse may make a more neutral forearm position feel natural, but no mouse is proven to reliably relieve wrist pain. The $27 candidate associated with this headline is the Seenda MOU-302, which Tom’s Guide reviewed in July 2025. That review does not establish that it won a nine-mouse test, so treat the price as a dated reference—not a verified current price or a confirmed comparison winner.

What the Seenda MOU-302 offers

The MOU-302 is a vertical wireless mouse with three selectable sensitivity settings: 1000, 1600 and 2400 DPI, according to the Tom’s Guide review. DPI affects how far the pointer moves for a given mouse movement; the higher setting can reduce the hand movement needed to cross a screen, though it may take adjustment to control precisely.

One important limitation for choosing it is that the review says there is no left-handed version. If you use a mouse with your left hand, this model is not a suitable option. The available information does not establish its battery life, hand-size range or current price, so check the seller’s listing for those details before buying.

Choose by hand size and handedness first

A mouse that encourages a comfortable posture still has to fit your hand and work with your preferred hand. These documented options differ in fit guidance and basic specifications:

Mouse Fit and handedness Documented details
Seenda MOU-302 No left-handed version reported by Tom’s Guide; hand-size guidance not stated in the review. 1000, 1600 and 2400 DPI settings, per Tom’s Guide. A $27 price was reported in July 2025; it is not a verified current price.
Anker 2.4G Wireless Vertical Ergonomic Optical Mouse Hand-size guidance not stated on the cited product page. 800, 1200 and 1600 DPI settings; 2.4G receiver; two AAA batteries, not included, per Anker’s product page.
Logitech Lift Designed for small-to-medium hands; left- and right-handed versions are listed. 57-degree design, per Logitech.
Logitech MX Vertical Designed for medium-to-large hands; handedness options are not stated on the cited page. See Logitech’s product page for its specifications.

Logitech’s hand-size guidance makes Lift a more clearly documented starting point for smaller and medium hands, while MX Vertical is positioned for medium-to-large hands. Those are manufacturer recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular mouse will feel comfortable. If possible, try the shape before committing: your fingers should reach the buttons and scroll wheel without stretching, and your grip should not feel forced.

How the alternatives compare in testing

In its comparison of the Anker mouse and Logitech Lift, RTINGS favors Lift overall on several comfort and performance attributes, including Bluetooth support, sensor behavior, latency and customization. It describes the Anker as lighter and sturdier-feeling, and says, “The Logitech feels more comfortable in hand and has Bluetooth support, which the Anker lacks.” That is a product assessment, not evidence that Lift—or any mouse—reduces pain.

These comparisons cannot establish which mouse will suit your hand or work setup. Sensitivity steps, connection type, button layout and battery arrangements are practical differences; comfort remains personal. Consider the tasks you do, whether you need Bluetooth or a receiver, and whether the mouse works for your handedness before choosing on price alone.

What evidence says about vertical mice and wrist pain

A vertical shape can change forearm posture, but a posture change is not the same as a demonstrated reduction in pain. A 2015 mouse-shape evaluation indexed by CDC/NIOSH found that concept mice reduced forearm pronation compared with a traditional flat mouse. Its fully vertical concept had the poorest pointing performance. The authors concluded that increasing mouse height and top-case angle could improve posture without harming performance; the findings do not show that a retail vertical mouse cures or reliably relieves wrist pain.

A broader 2018 Cochrane review included 15 studies involving 2,165 workers. The authors judged one study at low risk of bias and the other 14 at high risk, and found inconsistent evidence for alternative mice and arm supports in preventing work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Two studies offered moderate-quality evidence that an arm support combined with an alternative mouse reduced neck or shoulder disorder incidence (RR 0.52, 95% CI 0.27–0.99), but not right upper-limb disorder incidence (RR 0.73, 95% CI 0.32–1.66). Those results concern a combined intervention and do not establish a benefit from the Seenda or from vertical mice generally.

Adjust your workstation as well as your mouse

A new mouse cannot compensate for a setup that keeps your wrist bent or makes you reach repeatedly. OSHA’s pointer and mouse guidance recommends keeping the device within easy reach and performing hand tasks with the wrist straight and neutral. Position it close to the keyboard so you can use it without stretching your arm, and adjust your workstation to reduce awkward posture.

OSHA also advises minimizing long, uninterrupted computer work with short breaks; wrist and forearm pain can be symptoms of ergonomic strain. If discomfort persists or worsens, treat a mouse change as one possible workstation adjustment—not a diagnosis or treatment—and seek appropriate clinical care.

How to decide whether to try a vertical mouse

  1. Confirm the fit: Check the maker’s hand-size guidance, handedness options and whether you can reach the controls comfortably.
  2. Match the controls to your work: Compare available sensitivity settings and connection type with the pointing precision and setup you need.
  3. Improve reach and wrist position: Keep the mouse near the keyboard and aim for a straight, neutral wrist, following OSHA’s workstation guidance.
  4. Judge comfort individually: A different grip may feel better, but current evidence does not promise pain relief. If pain continues or worsens, seek appropriate clinical care.
