First, identify which Ninja 5-in-1 you have
The model number matters more than the “5-in-1” label. Ninja’s Foodi DZ090C listing describes a 6-qt, two-basket air fryer with DualZone technology. That makes it a plausible match for the title, but the listing text does not enumerate all five functions. Check the model label and its current manual rather than assuming a function list from another Ninja product.

For comparison, the Ninja Flip SP151 is an oven-format countertop appliance. Ninja lists eight functions—air fry, roast, broil, bake, pizza, toast, bagel, and dehydrate—and says it fits a 12-inch pizza. Those specifications describe the SP151, not the DZ090C.
Ninja also sells products in other formats, including the Foodi Smart Dual Heat Air Fry Oven SP351, listed with 13 functions, and the Combi SFP701C, described as a 14-function multicooker, oven, and air fryer. Their features should not be attributed to a different 5-in-1 model.

What it can replace depends on the job
A separate air fryer
If you mean the DZ090C, it is itself a two-basket air fryer, so it can likely take the place of a separate air fryer if its basket capacity and cooking workflow suit your household. Whether it handles your usual batch size is a practical fit question, not something established by the model name alone.
A full-size oven
Do not assume a basket-style air fryer replaces a standard oven for everything. Ninja’s general air-fryer guidance says air fryers circulate heated air in a way similar to a fan oven, but have a much smaller cooking area than a standard-size oven. That can make one useful for some oven-style tasks without making it an equivalent replacement for large dishes, trays, or multiple items that need more room.

An oven-format model such as the SP151 is a closer option if you want bake, broil, toast, or pizza modes in a cavity. Even then, compare its stated capacity with the dishes and quantities you actually cook; its 12-inch pizza capacity is a specific model claim, not a measure of what every Ninja appliance can fit.
A toaster oven or other countertop appliance
A basket air fryer should not be treated as a toaster oven unless its exact model offers the oven functions and cavity you need. Ninja explicitly describes the SP151 as a toaster oven and air fryer; the DZ090C listing identifies a two-basket air fryer. For appliances beyond those, compare each appliance’s job with the verified modes, capacity, and format of your particular model instead of assuming “5-in-1” covers them.

Use this checklist before retiring another appliance
- Format: Decide whether you need baskets, an oven cavity with racks or trays, or a multicooker. These formats support different cooking workflows.
- Functions: Check the current manual for your model’s exact mode names. Do not transfer functions from the SP151, SP351, or SFP701C to the DZ090C.
- Capacity and shape: Match the usable space to your usual portions, cookware, and food dimensions—not just a headline capacity figure.
- Counter and storage space: Check the precise model’s dimensions and how it stores. Ninja says the SP151 flips upright to save counter space; that storage feature does not establish how much room another model needs.
- Workflow: Consider whether you need two independent baskets, a single oven-style cooking area, or a combination of cooking methods.
Bottom line
A Ninja 5-in-1 can be a practical replacement for a separate air fryer if it is the DZ090C and its two baskets suit your needs. Replacing an oven or other countertop appliances is a more conditional decision: verify the model, its manual-listed functions, cavity or basket format, and capacity against the specific dishes you make. Ninja’s own product range includes both basket air fryers and oven-style appliances, so the label alone is not enough to establish what yours can replace.
