No. A mouse button cannot be guaranteed to make an instant 180-degree camera turn in every game. A game may expose a turn-around action, mouse software may remap a button, or a dedicated feature such as Razer’s Perfect 180 may calculate the movement. Each route depends on the game’s input system, sensitivity, software configuration and, for competitive play, the title’s rules.
What a 180-degree mouse action actually requires
A 180-degree turn is not the same as clicking a desktop mouse button or moving the Windows pointer. In a game, the view must rotate by a defined angle. That can happen only when some layer in the input chain knows how to produce that rotation: the game itself, a remapping utility that sends an input the game already understands, or hardware and software designed to generate the turn.

That distinction is why the phrase “in every game” is too broad. Games implement camera movement differently. Some expose ordinary horizontal look controls; some provide a dedicated turn-around action; others accept only the controls their developers have defined. A mouse feature can be genuine and useful without being universally compatible.

The three ways a button can produce the turn
1. A game-native turn-around command
The most direct method is a command provided by the game. If a title includes a “turn around,” “quick turn” or similar action in its keyboard-and-mouse bindings, you can assign that action to a mouse button through the game’s own controls menu. The game then decides how far the camera rotates and how the command behaves.

This is title-specific. You must open the individual game’s control settings and look for a command that changes view direction by a fixed angle. If no such command exists, assigning an arbitrary mouse button does not create one. A normal look-left or look-right binding generally remains an ordinary movement input rather than a guaranteed 180-degree rotation.
2. A software remap of an existing input
Mouse utilities can assign a keyboard key or another supported input to a side button. When you press the button, the game receives that input. The result is therefore whatever the game does with the assigned key or command.
This approach is useful when the game already has a suitable command but the keyboard location is inconvenient. It does not bypass the game’s control model. If the game has no fixed-angle turn command, a remap cannot reliably invent one. The game may also reject, ignore or reinterpret inputs that are not supported by its control settings.

Razer markets a feature called Perfect 180 on the Basilisk V4 Pro and Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed. The company describes it as an instant 180-degree turn and says it can be mapped in Razer Synapse. That is a documented feature on those named products, not a promise that every game accepts or produces the same result.

Razer’s product documentation specifically warns that the result depends on in-game sensitivity and Synapse settings. A button configured correctly on one sensitivity value may not produce the intended angle after you change the game’s sensitivity or relevant Synapse values. Treat the feature as a configured calculation, not as a universal camera command built into Windows.
What the two documented Perfect 180 mice support
| Mouse | Documented capability | Configuration qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Razer Basilisk V4 Pro | Razer lists Perfect 180 as a control for an instant 180-degree turn aimed at low-sensitivity players. | Razer says the result depends on in-game sensitivity and Synapse total count settings. See the Basilisk V4 Pro product page. |
| Razer Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed | Razer describes Perfect 180 and says it can be mapped in Synapse. | Razer repeats that the result depends on in-game sensitivity and Synapse settings. See the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed product page. |
Razer’s October 8, 2026 announcement says Perfect 180 enables instant 180-degree turns “on any map” and is enabled through Synapse. That statement is a manufacturer description of the feature. It should not be expanded into a guarantee that the function works in every game, or that every competitive ruleset permits it. The announcement is available in the Razer newsroom.
The available documentation establishes that both models include the feature. It does not establish that one has broader game compatibility than the other, nor does it establish which mouse is a better purchase for a particular player. Shape, button placement, wired or wireless preference, configuration needs and budget still determine fit.
Why the same button behaves differently from game to game
Different control vocabularies
One game may expose a named action for turning around while another may expose only horizontal and vertical look axes. A remapped button can invoke the first action directly. In the second game, the same button may be interpreted as a key press, a mouse click or an unsupported input, with no fixed-angle result.

Sensitivity changes the amount of rotation
Camera rotation is calculated from input and sensitivity. Razer’s own caveat ties Perfect 180 to the game’s sensitivity and Synapse settings, so changing either can alter the outcome. A setting that appears exact in one configuration is not evidence that it will remain exact after you adjust sensitivity, field-of-view controls or a profile.
Profiles and software state matter
A mouse utility may apply a profile only while a particular game is detected. If the wrong profile is active, the button can perform a normal click or another assigned command. Synapse must also be configured for the feature; the product pages do not describe Perfect 180 as an automatic Windows-wide behavior.
Game input rules can limit what is accepted
Games can define which keys and mouse controls are configurable. They may distinguish between a physical mouse button, a synthesized key press and a macro-like action. The control menu and the game’s published input guidance are therefore more authoritative for compatibility than a mouse specification alone.
How to check whether your game supports a 180-degree bind
- Open the game’s controls menu. Find the keyboard-and-mouse section rather than relying on the operating system’s mouse panel.
- Search the action list for a fixed-angle or turn-around command. If the game exposes one, note the default key and whether the command can be reassigned.
- Assign the action to the desired mouse button in the game. Save the control profile, then test in a safe area where a camera movement will not cost progress.
- If no native command exists, check the mouse utility. A remap can send a key that the game already recognizes, but it cannot guarantee a 180-degree turn when the game has no corresponding action.
- Use a repeatable test. Start from the same facing direction, press the button once, and check whether you end facing the opposite direction. Repeat after changing sensitivity or switching profiles.
- Record the working settings. Keep the game sensitivity, Synapse values and active profile together. This makes it possible to restore the result after an update or profile change.
Do not infer support merely because the button produces movement. A partial turn, a turn whose amount changes with sensitivity, or a normal attack and interaction click is not a verified 180-degree action.

Using Perfect 180 with a Basilisk V4 mouse
- Install and open Razer Synapse. Select the Basilisk V4 Pro or Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed that is connected to the computer.
- Choose the button you want to configure. Assign the documented Perfect 180 function rather than an ordinary click or an unrelated key.
- Set the game profile. Apply the configuration to the title in which you intend to use it, so the assignment is available when that game is active.
- Match the game’s sensitivity. Razer states that Perfect 180 depends on in-game sensitivity and Synapse settings. Change one variable at a time and test again.
- Validate the result in the game. Confirm that one press rotates the view as intended and that releasing the button does not trigger an additional action.
The exact Synapse labels and profile behavior can change as the software is updated. Use the current controls shown for your device. If the feature is absent from the selected mouse or Synapse profile, a generic button remap is not an equivalent guarantee.
Why Windows mouse settings do not solve this problem
Windows can swap the primary mouse button and adjust pointer speed. Microsoft documents those options in Change mouse settings. They affect desktop pointer behavior and button roles; Microsoft does not describe them as universal in-game camera-turn controls.
Changing pointer speed can also make desktop navigation feel faster or slower without changing a game’s internal look sensitivity. For a 180-degree action, use the game’s control and sensitivity settings or a supported mouse feature instead of expecting the Windows pointer panel to add a camera command.

Electronic Arts’ PC accessibility and controls guide for Apex Legends documents mouse sensitivity and configurable keyboard-and-mouse controls. Those settings show the correct process: inspect the title’s own input options, identify what can be bound, and tune sensitivity inside the game. The guide does not establish that every mouse button can invoke a universal 180-degree command. See EA’s Apex Legends PC features guide for the game’s documented controls.

In practice, a player should verify the current Apex control list and test any supported binding in the firing range or another low-risk area. A result observed in Apex should not be treated as proof that the same assignment works in another title with different input handling.
Competitive play: compatibility is not permission
A feature may function technically and still be restricted by a game’s terms, an anti-cheat system or a tournament rulebook. The available product documentation does not establish permission for Perfect 180 in any particular competitive game or event. Before using it in ranked or tournament play, check the current rules for that title and competition.
Do not assume that a manufacturer’s phrase such as “on any map” settles a tournament-policy question. It describes where the product feature is intended to operate, not whether an organizer allows the input method.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTroubleshooting when the turn is inaccurate or absent
- The button does nothing: confirm that the correct game profile is active, the mouse is detected by Synapse and the assignment was saved in the game or utility.
- The view turns too far or not far enough: recheck in-game sensitivity and the Synapse settings that Razer identifies as affecting Perfect 180. Change one setting at a time and retest.
- The button performs a normal click: the feature may not be assigned to that physical button, or the selected profile may have reverted to a standard click.
- The action works in one title only: that is consistent with title-specific controls. Look for a native turn command or supported key binding in the second game instead of copying the first game’s profile.
- The action works in practice but is disallowed online: stop using it in that mode and consult the game or event’s current policy.
A practical decision checklist
- Does the game list a fixed-angle or turn-around command?
- Can the game bind that command directly to a mouse button?
- If not, does the game accept the key or input that your mouse software can send?
- Are your sensitivity and Synapse settings stable and documented?
- Are you using a Basilisk V4 Pro or Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed if you specifically want the documented Perfect 180 feature?
- Do the game’s competitive and tournament rules allow the method?
If any answer is no, you do not have a universal guarantee. You may still have a workable setup for a particular game, but it must be configured and tested on that title’s terms.
