Yes—but leaving LIV Golf does not automatically restore PGA TOUR membership or guarantee entry to PGA TOUR events. A former LIV player’s options depend on Tour rules and any return program in effect. The special 2026 Returning Member Program offered a limited route for some former members; its application window has closed, and the Tour did not promise to offer it again.
Membership and tournament access are different
A former player might be allowed to compete in some PGA TOUR events as a nonmember without being reinstated as a member. The terms and eligibility for either route depend on the player’s circumstances and the Tour’s regulations. In other words, “can return” means a route may be available—not that every golfer who leaves LIV can claim membership or event access.

The PGA TOUR’s 2026 Returning Member Program was a specific, conditional membership route. A separate Tour announcement about Patrick Reed described possible nonmember competition after he resigned his membership. These cases should not be treated as interchangeable.

The program applied to a narrowly defined group of former members who had participated in unauthorized tournaments and had been away from Tour membership for at least two years. Applicants also had to have won THE PLAYERS Championship or one of the four specified major championships during the 2022–2025 seasons. They had to comply with Tour regulations, including rules on conflicting events, media releases and unauthorized tournaments.
#1 Best Overall
- The Strata 12-Piece Men's is designed to give you maximum performance right out of the box for more confidence from tee-to-green. The lightweight 460cc forged driver, fairway wood, hybrid, irons and putter make up a set that provides a great combination of distance, forgiveness and control, and is very easy to hit.
The application period ran from January 12 through February 2, 2026. That deadline has passed. The program was not a blanket amnesty for all LIV golfers: a player had to meet its history and achievement criteria, apply on time and satisfy its conditions.
What Koepka’s return shows
Brooks Koepka returned through the 2026 program after winning the 2023 PGA Championship. The PGA TOUR attached significant conditions to his return:

- He forfeited eligibility for Player Equity Program grants for five years, from 2026 through 2030. The Tour estimated that potential earnings he could miss were approximately $50–85 million, depending on his performance and Tour growth; this was an estimate, not a guaranteed or realized loss.
- He was not eligible for a 2026 FedExCup Bonus Program payment.
- He had to make a $5 million charitable contribution.
- Returning members had to play at least 15 co-sponsored and approved tournaments in 2026.
- Returning members could not receive sponsor exemptions into 2026 Signature Events.
These were terms of the 2026 program, not established rules for every future return. PGA TOUR CEO Brian Rolapp described the program as “part of our commitment to fans, who expect the world’s best players to compete on the PGA TOUR week in and week out.”
What Patrick Reed’s case shows
The Tour reported that Reed resigned his membership before violating Tour regulations. It said he could compete as a nonmember beginning August 25, 2026, provided he complied with Tour rules and took part in no additional unauthorized events. Reed intended to pursue membership for 2027.

- ⛳【9-Piece Complete Golf Set】 -This men’s golf club set consists of lightweight stand bag with hood, 1# Driver, 5# hybrid, 5# 7# 9# PW# irons and putter. 1# Driver wood is equipped with a head cover for better protection.
- 🏌️♂️【1# Large-Head Driver Woods】 - The 460 cc aluminum alloy driver features low center of gravity to prevent inverted suspension. Furthermore, the high strength thin surface and enlarged sweet spot improves forgiveness and allows better hitting.
- 🏌️♂️【Convenient Hybrid & Irons】 - With low-profile design, the high elasticity hybrid can provide more speed to add distance. Besides, the irons with zinc alloy heads have deep grooves that increase friction for better control and spin. By the way, the hybrid is a great alternative for irons.
- 🏌️♂️【High-Quality and Accurate Putter】 - The precise putter with zinc alloy head is designed with anti-slip striking surface, which ensures higher forgiveness and more stable hitting. In addition, the alignment line provides more smooth and accurate stroke.
- 🏌️♂️【Premium Shafts and Grips】 - The ultra-light carbon shaft makes swinging easier, while the anti-slip grip ensures a more secure hold for enhanced comfort.
His reported path illustrates why nonmember event access is not the same as reinstatement. It is an individual case, not proof that every former LIV player can compete as a nonmember or obtain membership on the same terms.

The PGA TOUR’s announcement of the 2026 program said it did not promise that the route would be offered again. The official information available establishes that limited program and Reed’s individual plan, but does not establish a general reinstatement policy for 2027 or later. A player considering a return would need to check the Tour’s current regulations and announcements rather than assume the 2026 terms will recur.
