No—not as a share of YouTube ad revenue. YouTube may show ads on a channel that is not in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), but channels that have not met the higher ad-revenue eligibility criteria do not receive a share. Streaming continuously does not change that rule.
Why ads can appear without paying the channel
YouTube retains the right to serve ads on content across its platform, including content from channels outside YPP. But seeing ads is not evidence that the creator is earning from them: YouTube says channels that do not meet the higher YPP eligibility criteria are not eligible to receive a share of that ad revenue. A 24/7 schedule is not a monetization shortcut. YouTube’s stated requirements depend on eligibility, acceptance into YPP, and monetization settings—not how many hours a stream stays live.
What a channel needs to earn ad revenue
Meet the higher ad-revenue eligibility threshold
YouTube’s current ad-revenue tier requires 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 qualified public watch hours on long-form content in the previous 365 days or 10 million qualified public Shorts views in the previous 90 days. Reaching a threshold makes a channel eligible to apply for review; it does not guarantee acceptance.

Pass YouTube’s channel review and complete signup
YouTube reviews channels against its monetization policies. A qualifying channel must also complete YPP signup requirements, including agreeing to applicable terms and linking an AdSense for YouTube account. See YouTube’s YPP eligibility and signup guidance.
Enable the required monetization terms and settings
For Watch Page ad and YouTube Premium revenue from live-stream videos, a creator must accept the Watch Page Monetization Module. Once the channel is monetized, monetization must also be turned on for the individual live stream. YouTube’s Watch Page Monetization Module guidance explains the module requirement.
Can hours from a 24/7 livestream help reach YPP?
They can contribute only when they meet YouTube’s qualified-watch-hour rules. YouTube excludes livestreams that are unlisted, deleted, or not converted to VOD from qualified public watch hours. A public stream retained as a video on demand may contribute, subject to the other applicable rules. Check YouTube’s eligibility guidance for the current requirements.

That means a long runtime alone is not enough. The stream’s visibility and whether it remains available as VOD matter, and the channel must still meet the subscriber threshold and pass review.

What happens to ads on a monetized live stream
For an eligible, monetized channel with stream monetization enabled, YouTube says pre-roll and display ads are automatically enabled. Mid-roll ads can be automatic, scheduled at selected intervals, or inserted manually. However, YouTube cautions that “Ad slots are not guaranteed to serve ads.” See Monetize your live stream.
