Yes—if your channel and livestream are eligible, product tags can earn you commissions on qualifying purchases, or help sell products from your own connected store. Streaming around the clock does not qualify a channel by itself, make every tag visible, or guarantee sales or income. YouTube’s published guidance describes no special earnings rule for 24/7 streams.
How product tagging can generate earnings
YouTube offers two main routes for livestream product tags:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- YouTube Shopping affiliate products: Eligible creators tag products from participating brands and may earn commissions when viewers buy qualifying products.
- Your own store products: Creators with an eligible connected store can tag their own products. Eligible purchases may contribute to their earnings; the retailer or store terms govern fulfillment and sales.
Product details such as price, stock, and shipping are controlled by the retailer and can change. YouTube may also credit a creator for other eligible items a viewer buys after clicking a product tag.
There is no standard commission rate
The commission estimate shown in YouTube Studio reflects the current rate, but the rate in effect on the purchase date applies. Rates vary by product and seller, may change with promotions or seller decisions, and can differ if YouTube matches a tag to a local seller for an international viewer. YouTube does not publish a universal rate that can be used to predict a 24/7 stream’s income.

Who can use YouTube Shopping affiliate tags?
YouTube currently lists the affiliate program as available to eligible creators based in Argentina, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam. Availability and requirements can change, so check the Earn section in YouTube Studio for your channel’s current eligibility.
Stated minimum requirements include:
- Participation in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) and meeting its subscriber threshold.
- The channel must not be a music or Official Artist channel, or be associated with music partners.
- The channel audience must not be set as Made for Kids, and the channel must not have a significant number of videos marked that way.
These requirements apply to the affiliate program; a 24/7 schedule does not replace them.
Can you tag Amazon products in a livestream?
Yes, but Amazon tagging has extra requirements. You must be in YPP and enrolled in the YouTube Shopping affiliate program in the United States, Brazil, or India. U.S. creators also need an active Amazon Influencer Program or Amazon Associates account linked to their YouTube channel. Check YouTube Studio and the current program terms for your market before planning around Amazon tags.
When livestream product tags may not appear
YouTube says product tags are not shown in certain cases, including content with claimed content, Made for Kids content, content considered limited or ineligible for monetization, paid content, or content blocked for ads. A channel’s eligibility alone therefore does not ensure that a tag will display on a particular stream.

Creators must also own or clear the rights needed for livestream content, including music rights. A stream that relies on music or other material you do not have permission to use can create claims or other restrictions that affect tagging and monetization.
How to tag and present products in a livestream
Before or during the stream
- Open YouTube Studio and go to the live-stream setup in Live Control Room.
- Choose products available to your channel through YouTube Shopping or your connected store, then add the relevant tags before or during the stream.
- Keep the tagged product meaningfully connected to what viewers see or learn in the livestream. YouTube’s guidance says products from other brands should be featured prominently and used safely.
- If the stream includes a paid placement, use the appropriate paid product placement and endorsement disclosures.
YouTube’s creator tips recommend telling viewers that products can be shopped, explaining or demonstrating them, and disclosing that you may earn a commission. A tag should not imply that you have featured or tested a product if you have not.
Pinning products and adding tags afterward
In desktop Live Control Room, YouTube can automatically pin tagged products one after another, rotating every 60 seconds. You can also add product tags after a stream; products newly tagged afterward can appear in the replay.
What a 24/7 schedule does—and does not—change
A continuous schedule may give viewers more opportunities to encounter a tagged product, but opportunity is not a qualification or an earnings guarantee. The published rules focus on creator and content eligibility, product relevance, geography, and qualifying purchase activity. YouTube cited 30 billion shopping-related watch hours on its platform in 2023, but that is platform-wide viewing—not a forecast of sales or commissions for an individual creator.

Product tagging and stream hosting are separate issues: a continuous stream does not make a channel eligible for Shopping, and tagging products does not keep the stream online. If you need a 24/7 prerecorded-video stream, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops uploaded video rather than broadcasting from a camera, and your computer does not need to stay on. Every slot streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and the first day is free with no card. See StreamNeo.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload your recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; your uploaded video streams at its original quality up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot. StreamNeo can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and the Monthly price is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo keeps a YouTube stream running; it does not broadcast a camera feed.
