Yes. A 24/7 YouTube livestream can use YouTube Giving if the channel has access to the feature and the creator attaches an eligible fundraiser. YouTube’s published guidance allows fundraisers on livestreams, including scheduled streams; it does not identify a 24/7 duration as a Giving-specific disqualifier. That is not a guarantee that every continuous broadcast will remain live or qualify: the channel, nonprofit, content, and stream must still meet applicable requirements.
What must be eligible for YouTube Giving?
Eligibility has two sides: the creator’s channel must have access to YouTube Giving, and the fundraiser must support an eligible nonprofit. YouTube’s published channel criteria generally include the following:

- The channel is based in a location where YouTube Giving is available.
- The channel has at least 10,000 subscribers.
- The channel is in the YouTube Partner Program.
- The channel is not designated Made for Kids.
YouTube notes that some channels outside those stated criteria may still have access. Check YouTube Studio’s Giving area rather than treating the checklist as a definitive account-by-account eligibility test. See YouTube Giving FAQs for the current platform guidance.

YouTube Giving fundraisers support eligible US nonprofits. YouTube’s listed requirements include US 501(c)(3) public charity status, a Google for Nonprofits account, opting in to online fundraising through GuideStar, a creator request, and compliance with YouTube monetization policies. Private foundations are not supported under the FAQ.

If a nonprofit does not appear in search, it may not have opted in, may not be registered in the required systems, or may appear under a different name. The nonprofit can review YouTube’s Giving eligibility FAQs and the setup guidance for YouTube Giving fundraisers.
How to attach a fundraiser to a livestream
- In YouTube Studio, go to Earn > Giving.
- Create a fundraiser or join one, then select an eligible nonprofit. If the nonprofit is missing, check its eligibility and online-fundraising opt-in status before proceeding.
- Enter the fundraiser details and attach the relevant video or scheduled livestream.
- Publish the fundraiser. The donate button appears after the fundraiser’s start date.
YouTube’s instructions cover adding a fundraiser to a live stream, including a scheduled livestream. For an unscheduled broadcast, check the available Giving controls in Studio for the channel and stream. YouTube describes the setup in its fundraiser setup guide.
Where viewers donate
When the fundraiser is active, viewers can donate from the stream’s watch page. If live chat is enabled, the donate button can also appear in chat; YouTube’s Giving FAQ explains that chat donations are shown when a fundraiser is added to a live stream or premiere with live chat enabled. Without live chat, viewers can still use the watch-page donation option when it is available.

What happens to donations?
YouTube says 100% of contributions go to the nonprofit and YouTube pays the transaction fees. Its partner Network for Good collects and distributes donations. YouTube says disbursements are typically monthly; amounts under $10 are disbursed annually. Donations are non-refundable. These are YouTube’s stated handling terms, not a promise about the timing of any individual payment. Details are in the YouTube Giving fundraiser information and FAQ.
How Giving affects other livestream monetization
Adding a fundraiser does not affect ads, according to YouTube. There is, however, a tradeoff if you enable Live Chat Donations: that livestream cannot use Super Chat or Super Stickers. Super Thanks is unavailable on videos with Donations. If those features matter to your channel, weigh them against the fundraiser before choosing the donation setup. YouTube’s Giving setup guidance permits fundraisers on livestreams and explicitly describes scheduled livestream setup. Its general live-streaming help lists ways to go live but does not specify a maximum stream duration. Together, those pages do not document a 24/7-specific Giving prohibition. They also do not establish an unconditional guarantee that any continuous broadcast will stay live or remain eligible. A 24/7 format does not replace the channel, nonprofit, content, or livestream requirements.

Keeping a pre-recorded stream running
If you use an encoder or another streaming method to keep a YouTube broadcast live, that technical choice does not itself grant YouTube Giving access or change nonprofit eligibility. YouTube lists several ways to livestream, including an encoder, in its live-streaming guide; dedicated encoder hardware is not stated as a Giving requirement. Check that the content and stream comply with YouTube’s applicable policies as well as the fundraiser rules.
