No. Viewers watching an ended YouTube livestream replay cannot send a new Super Chat. Super Chats are purchases made through live chat during an active livestream or Premiere. A replay may show the original broadcast’s chat and Super Chats, but that history is not an open chat for new transactions.
When can a viewer send a Super Chat?
A Super Chat highlights a viewer’s paid message in live chat during a livestream or Premiere. The key distinction is whether the viewer is watching a broadcast that is still live—not whether the channel describes its schedule as 24/7. If the stream is actively broadcasting and live chat is available, an eligible viewer may be able to buy a Super Chat. YouTube’s live-stream guidance explains the feature.

What happens to Super Chats in a replay?
After a livestream ends, live chat is unavailable, and viewers can leave comments below the video instead. YouTube may retain live chat replay on the archive; it reproduces messages as they appeared during the original broadcast. A Super Chat visible there records an earlier purchase. It is not a new payment, and replay viewers cannot send another Super Chat into the ended chat. Creators can turn live chat replay off. See YouTube’s live chat moderation guidance.

Does a 24/7 schedule change the answer?
No. A channel may broadcast continuously, but a viewer can still be watching an ended broadcast or archived segment. The relevant question is whether that broadcast is currently live and its live chat is open. YouTube’s published guidance does not describe a special Super Chat exception for always-on gaming streams; the answer follows from the distinction between active live chat and an ended stream’s historical replay.

What creators need to enable Super Chats
Super Chat availability is not automatic for every channel. YouTube lists Supers among its YouTube Partner Program (YPP) fan-funding features. Channel and feature eligibility apply; creators must accept the Commerce Product Module, unless covered by YouTube’s stated older-addendum provision, and enable the relevant feature in YouTube Studio. YouTube says Supers are automatically available on eligible livestreams and Premieres where live chat is turned on. Check the channel’s current Earn tab and YouTube monetization eligibility guidance for its status, since eligibility can vary by feature and change over time. How much does a creator receive?
YouTube’s current help guidance says creators receive 70% of Supers revenue confirmed by Google, calculated after local sales tax and iOS App Store fees are deducted. YouTube says it covers transaction costs such as credit-card fees. The 70% figure describes YouTube’s stated calculation; it is not a guaranteed take-home amount for every purchase or jurisdiction. Other revenue from streams and replays
Super Chats are only one possible monetization route. YouTube also lists ads and channel memberships as separate livestream revenue options. Depending on eligibility and settings, ads may appear on live content or replays, but ad slots are not guaranteed. Neither ads nor memberships turn a replay’s historical chat into an opportunity for a new Super Chat. See YouTube’s live-stream monetization guidance.
