Campaign
Campaign is the single-player story component. You follow scripted missions, characters and objectives without needing a live match or a squad of other players. If you want a guided narrative first, the campaign is the natural starting point in a Modern Warfare title. The exact characters, plot and continuity depend on which Modern Warfare release you choose, so the title and edition should be checked before assuming that two games are direct sequels.
Multiplayer

The practical difference from Modern Warfare is therefore organizational rather than a single universal ruleset. Resurgence

Black Ops Royale

Plunder and contracts
An earlier official Modern Warfare/Warzone page describes Plunder as a mode in which players collect and deposit cash. Contracts provide loot, cash, experience points and other rewards. Plunder’s objective is therefore economic accumulation rather than simply being the last surviving squad. The same official page promotes a “150-player firefight” in which the last squad standing wins. Which Call of Duty should you play first?
