The clips are creative crossover concepts—not an official collaboration or a publicly released mod.
What the Zombies crossover project shows
Dexerto’s Nathan Warby reported on October 2, 2026, that fan creator P.E. Cooper used World at War as the base for a browser-based experiment featuring Nacht der Untoten. According to the report, Cooper said on September 6 that AI systems had helped pull the game’s source code and port the map to the web. Dexerto’s account is the basis for the project details here; the underlying social posts were not independently inspected.

Portal Gun: portals in the Mystery Box
In one experiment, the Mystery Box contains a Portal Gun inspired by Portal 2. The report says it fires working portals, giving the player a way to move around the Zombies map.

A Fortnite-inspired clip shows the player building wooden walls to hold back Zombies, bringing a construction mechanic into the familiar survival setting.

Wii Sports: a Mii fights back
Another clip features a Wii Sports Mii battling with boxing gloves, bowling balls and a baseball bat. The combination turns the map’s usual fight for survival into a playful sports-themed brawl.
Other characters and crossover ideas
Dexerto also lists experiments featuring a Sith lightsaber, an Among Us crewmate, a Mario Kart character and banana peels. Reported bot teammates draw on Tung Tung Tung Sahur, Master Chief, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Rick and Morty. The report mentions additional sports-game clips inspired by Madden and NHL.

Can you play or download it?
Not based on the status Dexerto reported: the creations were available only to Cooper, rather than offered as an easily accessible public mod. The article does not establish a download, public browser build or release date. Treat the clips as a showcase of the creator’s experiments, not as a playable crossover you can access.

What Cooper said about AI and an earlier pitch
Dexerto attributes to Cooper a recollection that, when they were younger, they pitched an idea to game studios and were laughed out of the room. Cooper recalled being told it was “the dumbest fucking thing they’ve ever heard!” and joked, “Thanks to AI I can finally prove them wrong.” That studio-meeting story is Cooper’s account as quoted by Dexerto, not independently verified history.
