UiPath reported rising revenue while C3 AI reported a sharp decline in FY2026. UiPath also generated substantially more revenue. Their latest reported quarters, both ended July 31, 2026, show the same contrast: UiPath was up year over year, while C3 AI reported $52.4 million. These figures describe reported sales—not which stock is the better investment.
How to compare C3.ai and UiPath revenue
Start with the fiscal calendars. C3 AI’s fiscal year ends April 30; UiPath’s ends January 31. Their FY2026 results therefore cover different 12-month periods, even though both use the label “FY2026.” The latest quarters discussed here ended on the same date, July 31, 2026, but C3 AI labels its quarter FY2027 Q1 and UiPath labels its FY2027 Q2.

| Company and period | Reported revenue | Comparison |
|---|---|---|
| C3 AI FY2025, year ended April 30, 2025 | $389.1 million | Baseline for the following fiscal year |
| C3 AI FY2026, year ended April 30, 2026 | $247.7 million | Down about 36% from FY2025, calculated from reported figures |
| UiPath FY2026, year ended January 31, 2026 | $1,610.6 million | Up 13% year over year, as reported by UiPath |
C3 AI’s FY2026 revenue fell by $141.4 million from FY2025. UiPath’s annual trend went in the opposite direction, with reported growth. In absolute scale, UiPath’s FY2026 revenue was about 6.5 times C3 AI’s FY2026 revenue, calculated from the reported totals. Because their fiscal years end on different dates, that is a comparison of each company’s reported fiscal year, not identical calendar windows.

Latest reported quarters: same end date, different direction and scale
| Company and quarter ended July 31, 2026 | Revenue | Year-over-year change |
|---|---|---|
| C3 AI FY2027 Q1 | $52.4 million | Not stated in the September 2, 2026 release cited here |
| UiPath FY2027 Q2 | $410.256 million | Up 13% |
Since the quarter-end dates match, this is a more closely aligned period comparison than the annual totals, although the companies’ fiscal-quarter labels differ. UiPath’s revenue for the quarter was about 7.8 times C3 AI’s, calculated from the reported totals. The supplied quarter figures establish UiPath’s year-over-year increase; they do not establish C3 AI’s year-over-year change, so its $52.4 million should not be described as growing or declining on that basis.
Revenue guidance is a forecast, not a reported result
Both companies issued FY2027 revenue guidance in their September 2026 releases. Guidance is management’s estimate for a future period, not revenue already earned.
Rank #2
| Company | FY2027 revenue guidance | Relation to reported FY2026 revenue |
|---|---|---|
| C3 AI, September 2, 2026 release | $210 million to $240 million | The range is below FY2026 revenue of $247.7 million. Comparing the endpoints with that total, it implies a decline of about 3% to 15% if achieved. |
| UiPath, September 3, 2026 release | $1.789 billion to $1.794 billion | Compared with FY2026 revenue of $1.6106 billion, the range implies growth of about 11% to 11.4% if achieved. |
The implied percentages are calculations from each company’s guidance and its reported FY2026 revenue; they are not separate company forecasts. Read the outlooks as management’s current expectations, not as guaranteed outcomes or substitutes for historical results.
What the revenue mix says—and what it does not
C3 AI: subscription revenue and a broader combined measure
C3 AI reported FY2026 subscription revenue of $227.1 million, down from $327.6 million in FY2025—about 31%, calculated from the reported amounts. It also reported $245.1 million in combined subscription and prioritized engineering services revenue for FY2026, equal to 98% of total revenue. That combined figure is not subscription revenue alone; the two measures should not be treated as interchangeable.
UiPath: licenses, subscription services, and professional services
In its FY2027 Q2 filing for the quarter ended July 31, 2026, UiPath separately reported these revenue categories:
| UiPath revenue category | Quarter revenue | Year-over-year change |
|---|---|---|
| Licenses | $123.843 million | Up 10% |
| Subscription services | $266.067 million | Up 12% |
| Professional services and other | $20.346 million | Up 82% |
| Total | $410.256 million | Up 13% |
Professional services and other rose fastest by percentage, but its $20.346 million was the smallest of the three reported categories. Comparing UiPath’s categories directly with C3 AI’s subscription or combined measures would be misleading because the companies classify and present revenue differently.

What investors can reasonably take from the comparison
- Reported momentum diverged. C3 AI’s FY2026 revenue was lower than FY2025, while UiPath reported 13% annual growth. UiPath’s latest quarter also grew 13% year over year; the figures cited here do not provide a year-over-year rate for C3 AI’s latest quarter.
- Scale is not the same as growth quality. UiPath reported considerably more revenue, but size alone does not establish future performance. Revenue trends need to be considered alongside each company’s business results and risks.
- Mix matters, but definitions matter too. UiPath’s filing gives separate quarterly categories; C3 AI’s combined subscription-and-prioritized-engineering-services metric includes more than subscription revenue.
- Management outlooks point in different directions. C3 AI’s FY2027 guidance is below its FY2026 reported total, while UiPath’s guidance is above its FY2026 total. Those are forecast comparisons, not realized growth.
C3 AI Chairman and CEO Thomas M. Siebel said in the June 3, 2026 earnings release that the company’s priorities included “topline revenue growth, cash generation, and non-GAAP profitability.” That statement describes management’s stated focus; it does not independently demonstrate that a turnaround has occurred or guarantee the forecast.
