A VPN does not establish that you are eligible to use Bybit, and it should not be treated as a reliable way around geographic restrictions. Bybit’s official guidance ties access to jurisdiction and residence, and says it may terminate an account and liquidate open positions if it determines a user made false statements about either. Its published guidance does not explicitly say whether VPN use by an otherwise eligible user is allowed or prohibited.
How Bybit’s VPN policy should be understood
Bybit’s rules focus on where you live and where you are accessing the service—not on a VPN as a substitute for eligibility. The official pages reviewed do not categorically permit or ban VPN use by an otherwise eligible account holder. That silence is not confirmation that a VPN is permitted, or that using one will prevent an account review.

Bybit’s Service Restricted Countries page says the company may act if it determines that a user made false representations about location or residence. Possible actions include immediate account termination and liquidation of open positions. Do not enter inaccurate residence information or use a VPN to present yourself as eligible when you are not.

| Situation | Bybit’s stated guidance | Practical implication |
|---|---|---|
| You reside in a supported jurisdiction | Registration asks you to select your country of residence; identity verification is part of access to products and services. The applicable terms and current jurisdiction guidance govern. | Use accurate residence details and follow the verification and account requirements. A VPN does not replace them. |
| You are temporarily visiting a supported country | Bybit says users should be able to access accounts while visiting supported countries. | Travel access is subject to Bybit’s stated guidance and the circumstances of your account; it is not a guarantee for every service or situation. |
| You are in a restricted country | Bybit says its system logs users out when it detects that they are in a restricted country. Its travel FAQ says users can log in again after leaving that jurisdiction. | Do not treat a VPN as a way to override the location restriction. |
| You reside in an excluded jurisdiction | Bybit’s restricted-country page sets out exclusions and warns that false statements about location or residence can lead to account termination and liquidation of open positions. | A VPN does not change your residence or make you eligible. Check the current page and the terms that apply to your account. |
The travel details are in Bybit’s FAQ — Account Settings. Its registration guide says users may be redirected to a regional site or shown a restricted-country notice.

What Bybit says it collects—and what that does not prove
Bybit’s General Privacy Policy identifies IP address, timestamps, login location, and user activity as log data, and lists fraud prevention and detection among service-operation purposes. This supports the limited conclusion that Bybit collects location-related information.
The policy does not explain how Bybit identifies or evaluates VPN traffic. It therefore does not establish that any provider, server location, protocol, or router will make the service accessible or protect an account from review.

These account requirements are separate from geographic eligibility: meeting them does not make a user eligible in a restricted jurisdiction.
