A separate launch report puts the maximum at up to $1,400 for qualifying business lines. Those are maximum promotional credits, not guaranteed reductions in your final cost: plan charges, taxes, financing, the trade-in tier and T-Mobile’s device connection fee still apply.
Apple says iPhone Duo preorders open Friday, October 16, 2026, with deliveries beginning October 23. The foldable has a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display.

What T-Mobile is offering for iPhone Duo
Apple’s carrier-offers page currently shows up to $1,000 in T-Mobile credit after trade-in for iPhone Duo. Android Authority reported on October 15 that T-Mobile’s launch promotion reaches the same ceiling for consumer accounts and up to $1,400 for business lines. The business amount is a separate eligibility path, so business customers should confirm the exact terms attached to their line before ordering.

“Up to” is important. The highest amount normally requires a particular trade-in category and an eligible rate plan. A lower-tier phone, an ineligible plan or a different account type can produce a smaller credit.

How the T-Mobile credit is paid
T-Mobile’s Apple promotions generally use recurring bill credits rather than an instant discount. Its 2026 promotion index lists examples of up to $1,000, $800 and $600 delivered over as many as 36 monthly bill credits. The specific iPhone Duo offer should be checked in the live preorder flow because the number of months and qualifying plan can differ by promotion.
- You typically need an approved equipment-financing agreement and a qualifying T-Mobile plan.
- The phone must meet the promotion’s trade-in category and condition rules.
- Taxes are due according to the checkout terms, and T-Mobile’s published examples include a $35 device connection charge.
- Leaving the qualifying plan or paying off, canceling or changing the installment agreement early can affect future credits. Confirm the early-termination treatment before accepting the offer.
A 36-month credit schedule can make the monthly payment look low while keeping you tied to the account for three years. Compare the total amount you will pay before credits, the remaining financed balance and the value of credits still due if you change carriers.

Apple Trade In versus a carrier promotion
Apple’s direct Trade In program is a separate transaction from T-Mobile’s bill-credit promotion. Apple says an eligible iPhone 13 or newer can receive an instant trade-in credit ranging from $175 to $885. That value is paid as Apple credit or applied through Apple’s purchase process, not automatically stacked with T-Mobile’s installment credits.
Apple also says its carrier partners can offer up to $1,200 toward iPhone Duo when trading in an iPhone 14 Pro Max or newer. This is a carrier-offer ceiling and may have different plan, financing and trade-in conditions from the T-Mobile promotion.

Use the same phone’s quoted value in both checkout paths before deciding. A larger headline credit can be offset by a more expensive plan, a longer credit schedule, taxes due at purchase or the loss of credits when you leave early.

The currently published material does not identify one universal plan name for every iPhone Duo customer. T-Mobile’s promotion index ties Apple offers to qualifying plans, credit approval, trade-in categories, taxes and the device connection charge. The live preorder page should display the exact plan names and line requirements for your account.

Apple’s announced schedule opens preorders on Friday, October 16, with deliveries starting October 23. Launch inventory and promotional wording can change as orders accumulate, so an order placed later may receive a different estimated delivery date or a revised offer. Treat the date as the start of deliveries, not a guarantee that every configuration arrives that day.

- Counting the maximum as cash. The advertised figure is a ceiling in promotional bill credits, not an instant rebate.
- Ignoring the account type. The reported $1,400 ceiling is for business lines; consumer accounts are reported at up to $1,000.
- Choosing a lower trade-in tier by mistake. Apple’s direct values and T-Mobile’s promotional tiers are separate, and the same device can receive different amounts.
- Overlooking the credit period. A promotion paid over 36 months requires you to keep the qualifying arrangement for the credits to continue.
- Forgetting upfront charges. Taxes and the $35 device connection charge can be due even when the phone’s promotional credit is high.
- Failing the trade-in inspection. The final condition assessment can change the credit if the device is damaged, locked or materially different from the submitted description.
Is T-Mobile’s deal the right choice?
T-Mobile is most attractive if you already have a qualifying account, plan to keep it for the full credit period and own a trade-in that reaches the top promotional tier. Apple’s direct route can be simpler if you want immediate trade-in credit or do not want a long carrier commitment. Calculate the total payments, fees and remaining balance under both routes using the quote shown at checkout; do not compare the headline credits alone.
