Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteBusiness email and Zoho Mail both host email on a custom domain, but they suit different needs: one focuses on hosted mailboxes, while Zoho offers mail-only plans as well as Workplace bundles with collaboration and office tools. The better choice depends on your country, mailbox capacity, user count, billing commitment and whether you need a broader software suite.
What each service includes
Business email: standalone hosted mailboxes
The service describes its email as separate from its web hosting, so you can use its business email whether or not your website is hosted there. Its product page also lists webmail and access through common email clients, plus features such as spam, virus and phishing protection, audit logs, encryption and optional AI features. These are provider descriptions, not independent security test results.

Zoho Mail: email plans and Workplace bundles
Zoho offers Mail Lite and Mail Premium for email-focused needs, alongside Workplace editions that add tools such as file storage and office or collaboration applications. Zoho’s comparison page lists features by edition, including mobile and desktop apps and options such as retention/eDiscovery and S/MIME on applicable plans. Check the exact edition for the tools and access methods your team requires. See Zoho’s plan comparison.
Compare mailbox capacity and sending limits
Its help page lists storage, daily message rates and alias allowances for three standalone paid tiers. Zoho’s listed capacity varies by edition. The figures below are provider-published plan specifications; confirm the current limits for your account and market before buying.
#1 Best Overall
| Service and tier | Mailbox storage | Daily inbound/outbound messages | Aliases per mailbox |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zoho Mail Free | 5 GB per user | Not stated on the cited comparison | Not stated on the cited comparison |
| Zoho Mail Lite | 5 GB or 10 GB per user, depending on option | Not stated on the cited comparison | Not stated on the cited comparison |
| Zoho Mail Premium | 50 GB mail storage plus 50 GB retention storage per user | Not stated on the cited comparison | Not stated on the cited comparison |
The provider says its limits may change and directs customers to the dashboard for account-specific values. Zoho’s comparison also lists larger storage options in higher Workplace editions, but the amount depends on the edition. Do not treat retention storage as ordinary mailbox space: it is listed separately for Mail Premium. Source: Zoho’s plan comparison.
Check whether Zoho Free meets your requirements
Zoho Mail Free is listed for up to five users and one domain, with 5 GB per user. Its availability is limited to select data centers, and the plan comparison says IMAP, POP and ActiveSync are not included. If your team depends on those protocols or needs a particular region, verify availability and client compatibility before planning a switch.
Compare prices only on the same basis
Prices depend on market, user count, commitment and plan scope. A useful comparison should match the country, number of mailboxes, storage needs, billing duration and renewal cost—and should account for whether a Workplace bundle’s extra applications replace tools you already pay for.
For a concrete example, the provider’s India business email page, accessed October 7, 2026, displayed Business Starter at ₹29 per month on a 48-month term, renewing at ₹69 per month for a 48-month term, with one mailbox and 5 GB storage. These are India-specific offer terms, not a universal rate. The provider explains that its displayed monthly rate divides the upfront term price by the number of months.
Zoho lists Mail Lite and Mail Premium prices on an annual-billing basis; its page shows the price for the visitor’s target market. Compare that annual cost with the other provider’s total commitment and renewal terms rather than comparing headline monthly figures alone. Check Zoho’s current pricing.
Choose based on the workflow you need
Choose a mail-focused plan when email is the main requirement
If you need custom-domain email and do not need a bundled suite, compare the provider’s mailbox tiers with Zoho Mail Lite or Mail Premium using the storage and user count your team actually needs. Verify client and protocol access against the exact plan; features can differ between editions.
Rank #4
Consider Workplace when collaboration tools matter
If you need email plus file storage and office or collaboration applications, compare the specific Zoho Workplace edition with your current software costs and requirements. A bundle is useful only if its included apps fit the way your team works.

- Estimate each mailbox’s storage use and expected growth.
- Check daily message and alias limits against your sending and address setup.
- Confirm the email clients and protocols staff use are supported by the selected plan.
- Compare the total cost for the same number of users, country, billing period and renewal term.
Plan a migration before changing providers
Both providers publish migration options. The first documents an Email Import tool and connection guides for popular email clients; Zoho lists migration tools and 24×7 support. Zoho’s comparison specifies that dedicated technical migration assistance is limited to certain company sizes and editions, so do not assume every migration includes that service. This comparison does not establish how long a particular migration will take or whether every message and setting will transfer.
Best Value
- Confirm source and destination requirements. Check the migration tool’s supported source, account access and data types with the provider documentation for your chosen plan.
- Inventory what must move. Identify mailboxes, folders, contacts, calendars, aliases and any shared workflows your business relies on.
- Plan DNS changes. Email routing depends on domain records. Schedule the change carefully and follow the new provider’s setup instructions so incoming mail is directed correctly.
- Protect continuity. Keep access to the old service while you verify incoming and outgoing mail, client connections and migrated content.
Understand the limits of provider claims
Zoho’s plan comparison advertises a 99.9% uptime guarantee. That is a provider-published guarantee, not independently measured comparative availability. The two providers’ product and pricing pages describe features and limits, but they do not establish which service performs better in an independent head-to-head test.
