If you’re preparing for Grand Theft Auto VI, put a supported console at the top of your setup list. Rockstar says the game is coming November 19, 2026, to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A TV or monitor, headset or soundbar, and upgraded controller can make your setup more comfortable, but none is established as a requirement. Prime Day discounts covered in June 2026 are historical, not live prices as of October 7.
Start with a supported console
Rockstar Games identifies PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the game’s launch platforms, with a release date of November 19, 2026, in its June 24 announcement. If you already own one of those consoles, there is no reason in the available information to buy another just for GTA VI. If you do not, choose between them based on your existing games, household preferences, and budget.

PlayStation has also promoted PS5 Pro as an option for new players, but the announcement and platform materials do not establish that the Pro is required. Nor do they establish a guaranteed resolution or frame rate. Treat a higher-tier console as a discretionary purchase, not a prerequisite.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesChoose a display for your room, not an unannounced spec
The available sources do not state a required TV or monitor size, resolution, refresh rate, or other display specification for GTA VI. Buy for how and where you play rather than trying to meet a game requirement that has not been established.
#1 Best Overall
- 【INTEGRATED SPEAKERS】Whether you're at work or in the midst of an intense gaming session, our built-in speakers provide rich and seamless audio, all while keeping your desk clutter-free.
- 【EASY ON THE EYES】 Protect your eyes and enhance your comfort with Blue-Light Shift technology. This feature reduces harmful blue light emissions from your screen, helping to alleviate eye strain during long hours of use and promoting healthier viewing habits.
- 【WIDEN YOUR PERSPECTIVE】Our sleek minimal bezel design ensures undivided attention. The nearly bezel-free display seamlessly connects in a dual monitor arrangement, delivering an unobstructed view that lets you focus on more at once, completely distraction-free.
- TV: A natural fit for couch play, longer viewing distances, and shared rooms. Consider screen size, room brightness, seating distance, and whether others will use the set.
- Monitor: A practical choice for desk seating or a screen that also serves a computer. Check that its connections and features suit the console you choose, as well as your desk and viewing distance.
There is no confirmed GTA VI-specific reason in these sources to replace a working screen before launch.
Pick audio and controls for comfort
Headset or soundbar
A headset is useful when you want private listening or need to keep room volume down. A soundbar is better suited to shared, speaker-based play. Choose according to your room, other people nearby, and how you prefer to listen; neither is established as necessary for GTA VI.

- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadow for added depth - making every scene feel more vivid and realistic
- The 180Hz refresh rate minimizes lag for gameplay with ultra-smooth action. Plus, the 1ms response time helps capture your moves in real-time, allowing you to react fast for gaming precision
- AMD FreeSync reduces choppiness, screen lag and image tearing, ensuring that your fast-paced, complex in-game action is stable with minimal stutter
- Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort
Controller
On PS5, PlayStation says GTA VI uses DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers, along with Tempest 3D AudioTech and the console’s SSD. These are platform-holder statements, not independent performance tests or promises of specific image or frame-rate results. The included DualSense is the straightforward starting point for PS5; a premium third-party controller is an optional preference. Check a third-party model’s compatibility with your console before buying.

Rockstar Support says the physical version is a code-in-box: it contains a download code, not a game disc. Rockstar also recommends buying from a retailer in the country associated with your platform account to avoid activation problems. Before you order, check the retailer’s region and the applicable platform-account terms.

What Hi-Fi and TechRadar published Prime Day setup roundups on June 24, 2026, naming products such as the LG OLED C5 55-inch TV, Samsung HW-Q990F soundbar, Razer Raiju V3 Pro controller, and Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed headset. Those examples can help you identify categories to compare, but the associated deal prices and stock are dated. They should not be treated as current October offers.
