The Bugaboo Donkey 6 is a full-size, side-by-side stroller that Bugaboo offers for one child, siblings, or twins. Its defining advantage is that it starts at a listed 60 cm (23.6 in) wide in single mode and can convert to double mode by adding a separately sold sibling seat. Its main trade-offs are its substantial lifting weight, the extra width in double or twin mode, and the need to check your own doors, car and storage space before buying.
This is a specification-based review, not a hands-on test: steering, folding effort, ride comfort, loaded-basket handling and long-term reliability have not been independently assessed here. The figures below are Bugaboo’s published specifications and claims, not independent measurements.

What is the Donkey 6, and how does it convert?
Bugaboo describes the Donkey 6 as a convertible side-by-side stroller available in single, double and twin configurations. The US single 2-in-1 package includes both a seat and a bassinet setup. Bugaboo says the single can convert to double by adding a sibling seat, which is sold separately; its overview describes the conversion as taking three clicks. Twin setups use two bassinets or two seats as appropriate for the children’s ages and chosen configuration.

Bugaboo also says the platform can carry up to three children when optional car seats and a wheeled board are added. That is a manufacturer configuration claim, not a statement that those components are included in the single package. Check current compatibility and the exact parts required for your intended setup.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How wide and heavy is it?
In single mode, Bugaboo lists the Donkey 6 at 60 cm (23.6 in) wide. Bugaboo says double or twin mode adds 14 cm (5.5 in), which implies a width of about 74 cm (29.1 in). That double/twin figure is arithmetic based on the manufacturer’s stated increase, rather than a separately listed or independently measured dimension.
Bugaboo says the double/twin width is designed to fit through standard doorways, but that does not guarantee it will clear a particular doorway. Measure the narrowest parts of your route, including trim and handles, and consider elevators, shop aisles and any turn you need to make. The single-mode width is a useful design point; it does not make the stroller compact.
The US product listing gives a fully assembled weight of 15.2 kg (33.7 lb) with the seat and 16.2 kg (35.9 lb) with the bassinet. That is a meaningful lifting load, especially if you regularly need to carry the stroller up stairs or lift it into a vehicle. These are Bugaboo’s figures, not independent weigh-ins.

What are the dimensions in use and when folded?
Bugaboo lists these single-mode dimensions. The in-use measurements depend on whether the seat or bassinet is fitted; the listed fold dimension is with the seat.
| Configuration | Dimensions listed by Bugaboo |
|---|---|
| In use, with seat | 87 × 60 × 111 cm (34.2 × 23.6 × 43.7 in) |
| In use, with bassinet | 92 × 60 × 87.5 cm (36.2 × 23.6 × 34.4 in) |
| Folded, with seat | 56 × 61.5 × 90 cm (22 × 24.2 × 35.4 in) |
Before deciding it fits your routine, compare the folded dimensions with your car’s usable trunk opening and interior space, and check where it will live at home. Also check the lifting weight against how you will load it. The cited fold dimensions are for the single mode with the seat; they do not establish the folded size of a double or twin setup.
What does the single 2-in-1 package include?
Bugaboo’s US single 2-in-1 listing names the stroller base or chassis and wheels, seat frame and fabric, bassinet fabric and bottom, mattress, PureBreeze mattress, canopy fabric with wires and clamps, underseat basket, and side bag. The sibling seat for double conversion is sold separately. Car seats, adapters and a wheeled board are optional components, not a reason to assume a travel-system or three-child setup is included.

If you need a car-seat setup, verify the exact car-seat model and adapter compatibility on Bugaboo’s current compatibility information before purchase. Accessories such as a rain cover, footmuff, cup holder, organizer or replacement parts may be useful for particular routines, but confirm that the specific item fits the Donkey 6; a general accessory category is not proof of model compatibility.
What do the specifications say about capacity and features?
Bugaboo lists an age range of 0–4 years and a maximum child weight of 22 kg (50 lb) for the single configuration. It gives the underseat basket capacity as 15 kg (33 lb) or 70 L (18.4 gal), and the side bag capacity as 10 kg (22 lb) on the chassis or 4 kg (8.8 lb) on the handlebar. These are manufacturer-published limits; follow the manual and do not treat capacity as a guarantee of how the stroller handles when loaded.
The listing specifies 10-inch (25 cm) front wheels, 12-inch (30 cm) rear wheels, a seat with a five-point harness, a canopy with UPF 50+ protection, and a dual-sided PureBreeze mattress. Bugaboo says most fabrics are machine-washable at 30°C (86°F); it specifies damp-cloth cleaning for the mattress foam, basket and grips. Follow the product labels and manual for care instructions.

What does it cost, and what should you confirm?
The US listing accessed on October 8, 2026 displayed a price of $1,699 for the single 2-in-1 stroller and advertised a 100-day trial and extended four-year warranty. The selected fern-green color appeared out of stock on that page. These are time-sensitive US-market details, not a guarantee of current price, availability or terms. Check the current listing for your region and configuration, and read the trial and warranty conditions before relying on them.
The listed price is for the single 2-in-1 package; it does not establish the total cost of a double or twin setup. The current price of any sibling seat, adapters, car seat or other optional parts, along with shipping, tax and eligibility conditions, should be confirmed separately.

Who is the Donkey 6 best suited to?
The Donkey 6 is worth considering if you want a side-by-side platform that can begin in single mode and later accommodate a sibling, or if you need a twin configuration. Its listed single width is narrower than the implied double/twin width, but it remains a full-size stroller with a listed seat weight of 15.2 kg. The added seat and other required parts also mean that a future double setup is not simply the single-package price.
It may be a poor fit if frequent lifting, compact folded storage, a tight trunk or narrow access routes are central constraints. A fair comparison with another double stroller should use the same family’s real constraints rather than a headline width alone.
- Measure the narrowest doorway, elevator, aisle and turning space on routes you use.
- Check folded dimensions against the car trunk opening and the storage area at home.
- Consider whether you can lift the listed weight, particularly with the bassinet setup.
- Price the sibling seat and any required adapters or car-seat components for your configuration.
- Compare side-by-side and tandem layouts, along with basket capacity and in-use dimensions.
What this review can—and cannot—tell you
The published specifications help establish configuration options, dimensions, listed capacities and what Bugaboo says comes in the single 2-in-1 package. They do not establish how easy this stroller is to steer or fold, how comfortable it is for a child, how a full basket affects handling, or how it holds up over years of family use. Those practical qualities should not be inferred from specifications or manufacturer claims.
