First identify whether BrowserStack Screenshots cannot open the URL, reports Timed Out, or opens the page but produces an incomplete image. For a page protected by HTTP Basic Authentication, check the URL format: BrowserStack documents credentials in the form https://username:password@URL. That guidance does not establish support for ordinary website logins, session-based access, or multi-step sign-ins.
Start by identifying what failed
These outcomes call for different checks. A page that never opens is not the same problem as a timed-out job, and a page that opens but looks incomplete points toward capture behavior rather than URL access.

Check the URL and authentication type
For a public page
Confirm that the address is complete and spelled correctly, and that it begins with the intended scheme, https:// or http://. If the same public address works in your own browser but not in the screenshot job, record the exact error and selected browser for escalation rather than assuming a page-design problem.
For HTTP Basic Authentication
BrowserStack’s Screenshots troubleshooting guidance identifies the entered URL as one possible issue and documents the Basic Authentication form as https://username:password@URL. Its login FAQ confirms support for Basic HTTP Authentication. Use the complete address with the credentials included in that form, and verify the URL carefully. Handle credentials carefully: do not post a real username and password in a public forum or share an unredacted URL in a support request. A URL containing credentials should be treated as sensitive.
For a normal website login or session
Do not assume that putting a username and password into the address will sign in to an ordinary application. The documented support is for HTTP Basic Authentication; it does not confirm that BrowserStack Screenshots can complete a normal sign-in form, use an existing browser session, or pass a multi-step authentication flow. If the page depends on one of those mechanisms, the cited guidance does not establish that this URL workflow can access it.

If BrowserStack reports “Timed Out”
Follow the current answer in BrowserStack’s Screenshots FAQ. The available support material confirms “What does ‘Timed Out’ mean?” is a recognized troubleshooting question, but does not provide its answer, timeout threshold, cause, or recovery procedure. Avoid treating a retry as a confirmed fix; note the exact error and consult BrowserStack’s current instructions.
If the page loads but the screenshot is incomplete
Separate URL access from full-page capture. BrowserStack’s FAQ documents full-page screenshot limitations for Opera and Safari 5.1. Browser support can change, so check the current browser-specific guidance before relying on those version details. If practical, compare the result in a browser with full-page capture supported. Keep product-specific troubleshooting separate
BrowserStack has other screenshot-related products and workflows, but their instructions are not automatically fixes for the hosted Screenshots URL form. If a correctly formatted, publicly reachable URL still fails, gather details that make the failure reproducible. Remove credentials from any shared address.
