Brick by Brick: Tidy Up the Small Town! arrives on Steam on October 15, 2026. PaperPixel Games’ cooperative cleanup game asks players to recover, sort, move and place 18,490 bricks while rebuilding a neglected small town, either alone or with up to four other players online.
What Brick by Brick is about
Brick by Brick is built around a simple restoration loop rather than combat, exploration or competitive scoring. Players enter a run-down town, gather loose bricks, sort them, transport them to the right locations and place them as buildings are repaired. The development team’s launch positioning centers on the satisfaction of organizing materials and watching structures return piece by piece.

The headline figure is 18,490 bricks, according to PaperPixel Games’ 2026 launch materials reported by Game Chosun and Inven Global. That number describes the scale of the restoration work presented in the game, not a construction estimate for real-world buildings.

How the cleanup and building loop works
Collect and sort
Progress begins with loose bricks scattered around the town. Players collect them and organize the materials so the correct pieces can be delivered to active restoration sites. Sorting is part of the task itself, rather than an incidental inventory step.
Carry materials to construction areas
Once bricks are gathered, they must be moved to the buildings being restored. A handcart is available for transporting larger loads, reducing the need to carry every brick individually when a project requires many pieces.

Reach high sections
Scaffolding provides access to elevated parts of buildings. This extends the same collection-and-placement routine vertically, allowing restoration work to continue on upper walls and other hard-to-reach areas.
Pull in nearby bricks
A magnet attracts nearby bricks, giving players a tool for gathering materials that would otherwise require more manual movement. The handcart, scaffolding and magnet form a tool-assisted progression system: each addresses a different logistical problem as restoration expands.

Solo play and five-player online co-op
Brick by Brick supports solo play and online cooperative play for up to five players total. In a group, teammates can divide the work instead of all performing the same task. One player might collect and sort, another can run materials with the handcart, and others can focus on placing bricks or preparing higher sections with scaffolding.
| Aspect | Solo | Online co-op |
|---|---|---|
| Players | One | Up to five total |
| Material work | One player handles collection, sorting and transport | Players can split collection, carrying and construction |
| Restoration style | Self-directed cleanup and rebuilding | Shared restoration objectives with coordinated roles |
| Pace | Calm organization; launch messaging emphasizes no fast-competition focus or time-limit pressure | |
The five-player limit is the total lobby size, not five additional teammates joining a host.

A deliberately calm pace
PaperPixel Games is presenting the game around visible progress and cooperative satisfaction instead of speedrunning. The launch description specifically contrasts its approach with fast competition and time limits. That makes the central decision less about beating a clock and more about choosing an efficient division of labor, keeping materials organized and seeing each repaired building take shape.

The stated loop is structured restoration—finding, sorting and placing existing bricks—rather than giving players unrestricted building tools or asking them to design an entire town from scratch.
