What the Breville LMC700 does
The LMC700 is a 5.5 L multicooker with six modes: slow cook high, slow cook low, sear, sauté, steam and fast cook. Breville’s product listing identifies it as model LMC700; the Australian SKU is LMC700BSS2IAN1. Breville’s Australian product page has shown different stock states, while the New Zealand product page says the model has been discontinued. Availability and pricing therefore depend on market and retailer.

One vessel for browning and slow cooking
The included enamel-coated cast-iron pot lets you sear or sauté ingredients before switching to slow cook, which can reduce transfers between cookware. The modes also include steam and fast cook. Breville’s manual describes adjustable cook times and adjustable power levels for sear and sauté. For slow cooking, Breville recommends durations from 3 to 12 hours depending on temperature and ingredients; browning beforehand is recommended, not required. These are manufacturer instructions, not independent performance measurements.
What comes with it, and how large it is
The set includes a 5.5 L enamel-coated cast-iron pot with cool-touch handles, a cast-iron lid and a large stainless-steel steaming basket. CHOICE’s public listing describes the capacity as claimed 5.5 L, gives the unit’s weight as 9.6 kg, and lists its dimensions as 27 x 44 x 28 cm. The weight is worth considering if you expect to move the cooker often or lift the pot when full. CHOICE’s LMC700 listing also identifies the bowl as cast iron, the shape as oval and the warranty as one year.

Oven use and dishwasher safety
The pot and lid are oven-safe up to 200°C and should be placed on the lowest oven rack. Neither is dishwasher-safe. The stainless-steel steaming basket is dishwasher-safe. These distinctions matter: the removable cast-iron cookware does not share the basket’s dishwasher convenience.
Care and handling: the main ownership trade-off
Breville instructs owners to season the pot and lid before first use and provides a re-seasoning procedure in the LMC700 instruction book. After cooking, let the cast iron cool fully before washing; do not put hot cast iron under cold water, and dry the pot and lid thoroughly. These steps help avoid thermal shock and leave the cookware ready for storage.

Protect benchtops and manage condensation
During steam cooking, condensation can collect beneath the cooker. Use a stable, heat-resistant and water-resistant surface. Breville warns: “Do not place the multicooker, hot cast iron pot and/or lid on a heat sensitive benchtop, such as a stone benchtop, during or after cooking.” The manual recommends using a suitably sized wooden board to rest hot pieces.

CHOICE’s public listing exposes product details but keeps its expert rating and low- and high-cooking-performance scores behind membership. Those scores cannot be inferred from the public page, so there is no public basis here for a verdict on how well the LMC700 cooks compared with other models. Its listed one-year warranty and physical specifications are visible, but they are not substitutes for performance results.

Is the LMC700 a good fit?
- It may suit you if you want slow cook, sear, sauté, steam and fast cook functions in one appliance, and value browning in the same pot used for slow cooking.
- Think carefully if you need lightweight cookware, dishwasher-safe pot and lid, or an appliance that can be moved and cleaned with minimal handling.
- Check before purchasing whether the model is available in your country and what warranty and price the local seller offers. The manufacturer’s New Zealand page marks it discontinued, and Australian stock status has varied.
