Whether it is a good buy depends on the particular unit, its included accessories and condition, and the support available from its seller—not just the number of functions on the box.
What the Breville LMC600GRY is
The LMC600 is Breville’s “9 appliances in 1” multi cooker; CHOICE identifies the LMC600GRY as a variant. Breville Australia’s product page currently labels the family discontinued, so buyers should treat it as a used or remaining-stock listing rather than assume it is still in regular production. Its appeal is breadth: the cooker has a 5 L bowl and functions for everyday cooking, plus a separate bread pan and automatic bread programs. That makes it more versatile than a cooker aimed only at rice or slow cooking, but it does not make it a pressure cooker or air fryer. Neither pressure cooking nor air frying appears in Breville’s listed functions.
What it can cook
Eleven listed cooking presets
Breville lists these presets: sauté, slow cook, soup/stew, deep fry, rice, risotto, cake, bake, steam, yoghurt and jam. These are the product page’s “cooking presets,” not a combined count with the bread programs.

Twelve separate automatic programs
Breville separately describes 12 automatic programs, including French loaf, whole wheat, gluten-free, express bake, dough, bake and jam. The two lists use overlapping names such as bake and jam, but Breville presents them as distinct groups; they should not be added together and described as 23 unique functions. Breville also says the cooker has dual independently controlled heating elements and built-in sensors that adjust temperature, power and heat. Those are manufacturer claims; they do not establish how its cooking performance compares with other models.

Capacity, dimensions and included accessories
Breville lists a dishwasher-safe 5 L non-stick cooking bowl and deep-fry basket, a 900 g non-stick bread pan and tongs, a steaming tray, cheese strainer, ladle and spoons. CHOICE also lists a claimed 5 L capacity and loaf options of 450 g, 680 g and 900 g. Its bread listing gives a tin size of 12 × 19 × 19 cm. Check the exact listing and photographs: a discontinued unit may not include every item in the original set.

The dimension figures do not match exactly. Because their axis order differs and the source figures remain distinct, measure the space you have and confirm the specific unit’s size with its seller instead of assuming the listings are interchangeable. CHOICE lists a two-year warranty, but warranty coverage for an individual discontinued or second-hand unit depends on its circumstances; confirm it with the seller.

How strong is the evidence on performance?
CHOICE has separate multi-cooker and breadmaker listings, but the accessible pages show specifications rather than its expert scores, test results or recommendations. Its listing is not enough to claim that CHOICE tested the product favourably or recommended it.
ProductReview.com.au displays eight reviews and a rating of 2.5. The comments are mixed: one reviewer describes dough rising and overflowing, while another reports using the slow-cook, steam, sauté and bread functions and says consulting the manual was sometimes useful. What to check before buying a discontinued unit
- Confirm the exact model and condition. Ask for a clear image of the model label, plus current photos of the bowl’s non-stick surface, lid, controls, bread pan and any wear or damage.
- Inventory the accessories. Compare what the seller includes with Breville’s list: bowl, deep-fry basket, bread pan and tongs, steaming tray, cheese strainer, ladle and spoons. Do not assume missing pieces can be replaced; confirmed replacement-part availability has not been established here.
- Ask for a functional demonstration. If practical, have the seller show the display and controls operating and the appliance heating. A demonstration can help identify obvious faults, but it is not a full safety or performance test.
- Clarify warranty and returns in writing. CHOICE lists a two-year warranty, but that specification alone does not establish coverage for a particular used unit or remaining-stock sale. Get the seller’s terms and proof of purchase before paying.
- Check fit and intended use. Compare the appliance’s measured footprint with your counter space. Decide whether you will actually use the bread programs and accessories; otherwise, a simpler cooker may better suit your needs.
Breville’s LMC600 ANZ D19 manual covers assembly, the control panel, functions, recipes, cooking guidance, cleaning, troubleshooting and custom programs. It carries a 2019 copyright. Consult the manual for the specific unit and regional version before operating it, particularly for program limits, cleaning and safe use.
Is another Breville cooker a substitute?
Breville’s current Multi Chef BRC600 overlaps with some LMC600 uses: its product page lists rice, risotto, sauté, steaming and slow cooking. Breville gives it a 3.7 L slow-cooker capacity and a 10-cup rice capacity. It is not a direct replacement for the LMC600’s breadmaking programs or accessory set, so consider it only if those overlapping cooking functions meet your needs. Breville Multi Chef BRC600
