Allow more space than the microwave’s 519 mm width and 420 mm depth alone suggest. Breville specifies at least 7.5 cm between the oven and adjacent walls, at least 30 cm of clearance above it, and one side left open. The manual says not to install it in a cabinet, and warns that blocking the intake or outlet vents may damage the appliance. That makes this a specification-and-fit assessment rather than a performance verdict. The rotating turntable and listed functions describe the design, but do not by themselves prove cooking consistency or reliability.

Buying a discontinued BMO234
Because CHOICE marks the model discontinued, treat any listing as a search for remaining or second-hand stock—not evidence that new units are currently available. The sources do not establish current stock, a current price, or replacement-part availability. If considering a used unit, check its condition and suitability in person where possible. In particular, inspect the door and seals: Breville’s manual says not to operate the microwave if either is damaged. Confirm that the rating label matches your local supply, and make sure the installation location can meet the clearance requirements.
Do not assume that a generic 315 mm glass plate is a compatible replacement. The manual identifies the turntable assembly, but the sources do not confirm a replacement part number or compatibility for any specific spare.
