The manual documents a stainless-steel portafilter, single- and dual-wall baskets, an integrated tamper, milk jug, Razor dose-trimming tool, cleaning disc, cleaning tools and water-filter holder with filter. The newer US product listing also names a dosing funnel attachment and cleaning tablets. Package contents can vary by market or bundle, so check the retailer’s actual list before buying accessories.
How it works in everyday use
The Express asks you to make the key decisions and perform the main steps. You choose grind size and amount, grind into the portafilter, tamp, start and monitor extraction, then steam and texture milk yourself. The gauge and controls provide feedback, but they do not automate the process or remove the need to adjust your preparation.

That hands-on workflow is the machine’s defining appeal for someone who wants to learn espresso. It also means drinks take more attention than they would with a one-touch machine or automatic milk system. Is the BES870 the same as the Barista Express?
