The Pickaxe Shop is in the Safe Zone, beside the Animal Merging machine on the left side of the spawn area. Buy tools there with in-game Cash, equip the upgrade, then return to an egg. Wooden is the starter pickaxe. Pickaxe Power makes eggs break faster; it does not unlock new zones. Zone entry is controlled by Speed, so the best upgrade depends on whether breaking eggs or reaching the next area is slowing your run.
Where the Pickaxe Shop spawns
When you load into Break and Steal an Egg, remain in the starting Safe Zone and look toward the left side of the spawn area. The Pickaxe Shop is positioned next to the Animal Merging machine. You do not need to travel into a danger zone, find a hidden cave, or break an egg to reach it.

Fast route from spawn
- Spawn in the Safe Zone.
- Move to the left side of the main spawn area.
- Find the Animal Merging machine.
- Use the Pickaxe Shop beside it to view available tools and prices.
The shop is a permanent Safe Zone service point in the current layout described by the October 2026 guides. Roblox experiences can change their maps and interface after updates, so if the building is not in that exact position, use the Safe Zone landmarks and look for the pickaxe purchase prompt near the merging machine.

In this game, unlocking the next pickaxe means earning enough Cash to buy it in the shop and then equipping it. There is no separate quest, badge, rebirth, zone-clear requirement, or real-money purchase requirement stated for the listed upgrades.

The official Roblox listing describes the wider loop as breaking eggs, hatching rare animals, stealing the animals, escaping guards, placing animals in your base for Cash, carrying more animals with larger satchels, and upgrading Speed and pickaxe. That wording explains why a pickaxe upgrade is only one part of progression: you need Cash from successful runs, and Speed may be the real requirement for your next destination.
Pickaxe progression, prices and Power
The table below reproduces the 18-pickaxe progression reported in an October 8, 2026 guide. Costs are in the game’s Cash notation, and Power is the reported in-game value. “Starter” means the tool is available at the beginning rather than purchased for the listed amount.

The abbreviated suffixes are the display conventions used by the guide: K for thousand, M for million, B for billion, T for trillion and Qa for quintillion. Check the number shown in your live shop before saving for a purchase, because a rebalance can change either a price or a Power value.

Two more names reported in a newer list
An iTechGuides article dated October 18, 2026 reports a 20-pickaxe list that continues past Celestial with Sci Fi and Enchanted. That article also notes that several October guides stop at 18 tools. Costs and Power values for those two additional names are not established in the available references, so they should not be treated as fixed numbers. Open the live Pickaxe Shop and verify the final entries on your server before planning around them.
Pickaxe Power versus Speed: the requirement players often confuse
Pickaxe Power and Speed are separate progression systems. Power affects how quickly your equipped tool breaks an egg. Speed controls whether you can enter a zone. A higher Power value is not a substitute for the Speed gate on a zone, and meeting a zone’s Speed requirement does not automatically give you a stronger pickaxe.

If an entrance rejects you, buying a more powerful pickaxe will not solve that specific problem; increase Speed until you meet the gate. If you can enter an area but an egg takes too long to break, Power is the relevant stat.

Zone Speed gates
The dated zone table below lists the Speed needed to enter each named area. These are access thresholds, not pickaxe requirements.

For example, a player can own a high-Power pickaxe and still be unable to enter Galaxy without 25 billion Speed. Conversely, a player who meets a zone gate may still want more Power if the local eggs are slow to break.
How to buy and equip the next pickaxe
- Build a Cash reserve. Complete egg runs, steal the hatched animals, escape the guards, and place the animals in your base so they generate Cash. A larger satchel lets you carry more animals per run, which can improve the amount earned before returning to safety.
- Return to the Safe Zone. Do not attempt to purchase from an egg area. Go back to the spawn-side Safe Zone and locate the Animal Merging machine.
- Open the adjacent Pickaxe Shop. Inspect the displayed list rather than relying on an old screenshot or a remembered price.
- Compare the next price with your balance. The next listed tool is normally the progression target, but you may need to reserve Cash for another upgrade if Speed is blocking your next zone.
- Purchase the tool. Select the pickaxe whose cost you can afford and confirm the in-game purchase prompt.
- Equip it explicitly. Buying and equipping are separate actions in the normal flow. Verify that the new pickaxe is shown as active before leaving the Safe Zone.
- Test it on an egg. Break an egg in the area you can safely reach. If the breaking process feels unchanged, reopen your inventory or shop and confirm that the intended tool is equipped.
Choosing between a pickaxe upgrade and a Speed upgrade
Buy Power first when egg-breaking is your bottleneck
- You already meet the Speed requirement for the next area.
- Eggs in your current route take long enough to break that guards can catch you or your run becomes inefficient.
- The next pickaxe is affordable without delaying the Speed target you have already planned.
Buy Speed first when access is the bottleneck
- A zone entrance displays a higher Speed requirement than your current value.
- You can break current-area eggs acceptably, but the next zone offers the only practical route for your progression.
- Your current pickaxe has enough Power for the eggs you are farming, while movement or escape time is the problem.
Use the next affordable upgrade, not the biggest number
Power values rise sharply from Wooden’s 1 to Celestial’s reported 25 billion, while prices rise from 80 Cash for Stone to 20Qa for Celestial. The best purchase is therefore situational: compare the Cash cost, the Power increase, your present egg-breaking time, and the Speed needed for your next destination. The table does not establish a universal “best” pickaxe for every player because earnings, route, satchel size and current zone differ.

What is not established about egg requirements
The available October 2026 references do not publish exact hit counts for each egg, a permanent rule tying a particular egg to one specific pickaxe, or a guaranteed spawn location for every egg type. They establish the shop location, the progression values listed above, and the separate Speed gates, but not a complete egg-by-egg damage chart.
As a result, do not assume that an egg requires (for example) Diamond solely because Diamond appears later in the shop. Use the live egg’s break behavior and the Power value shown in your current interface. Event eggs, newly added areas and balance patches may change practical requirements without changing the published guide tables immediately.
Troubleshooting pickaxe purchases and missing upgrades
The shop is not where you expected
Return to the original spawn point, stay inside the Safe Zone, and search beside the Animal Merging machine on the left side. If the map has been redesigned, look for the same two services together or use the in-game shop prompt rather than an old video.

You have enough Cash but cannot buy
- Check that your balance uses the same suffix and decimal display as the shop price.
- Confirm that you are interacting with the Pickaxe Shop, not the adjacent merging machine.
- Close and reopen the shop if the purchase button has not refreshed after a sale.
- Allow for the possibility that the live price changed after the guide’s October 8 table was published.
The new tool does not feel faster
- Verify that the tool is equipped, not merely purchased.
- Make sure you are measuring egg-breaking time rather than movement speed; Power does not increase zone access.
- Check whether you are comparing eggs with different health or event modifiers.
- Reconnect or re-open the inventory if the active-tool display is stale.
You cannot enter a new zone
Read the entrance’s Speed requirement and compare it with your Speed stat. A stronger pickaxe cannot bypass that gate. Increase Speed, then return to the entrance and try again.
Keeping the information current
Break and Steal an Egg is a live-service Roblox game. Prices, names, Power values, zone gates and event content can change in an update. The 18-tool table is attributed to an October 8, 2026 guide, while the 20-tool report is dated October 18, 2026 and supplies only the additional names Sci Fi and Enchanted. Treat the live shop and zone entrance as the final authority when they disagree with an older table.
The practical rule remains stable: find the shop beside the Animal Merging machine in the Safe Zone, buy with Cash, equip before mining, use Power to improve egg breaking, and use Speed to unlock zones. Verify any final pickaxe entry, price or event requirement in Roblox immediately before spending your saved Cash.
