The game separates buying from equipping, and it uses different upgrades for breaking eggs, escaping guards, and entering zones.
Start in the Safe Zone: confirm that the purchase completed, equip the pickaxe in your inventory, and test it on one reachable egg. If the egg still opens slowly, check Pickaxe Power. If the egg opens but you cannot get the animal home, check Speed and Trails instead. A stale shop or inventory panel may require reopening the interface or rejoining the server.

Identify the failure before changing upgrades
“My pickaxe is not working” can describe several different checkpoints. Match the symptom to the game stage before spending Cash:

The normal loop is: equip the pickaxe, left-click an egg to break it, press E to steal the animal, and run back to your base. On PC, W, A, S, and D move, Space jumps, and I and O adjust the camera zoom.

Fix a missing or stuck pickaxe step by step

Return to the Safe Zone
Do not troubleshoot from inside an egg area or while carrying an animal. Return to the Safe Zone, where the Pickaxe Shop is located. A current guide identifies the Animal Merging machine and the left side of spawn as useful landmarks. Shop placement can change after an update, so use the live server layout rather than an old screenshot.

Read the Cash total and the exact purchase row
Look at the Cash amount shown in the shop and compare it with the complete price suffix on the row. Values such as
K,M, andBchange the scale: a row showing 250K is not the same as one showing 250M. If the purchase button is inactive, you either do not meet the current price or the panel has not refreshed.After earning enough Cash, close and reopen the shop before deciding that the item is unavailable. The live row and price are authoritative because shop lists and placements can change between updates.

Complete the purchase, then equip separately
Buying a row does not prove that the tool is active. Open the inventory or equipment interface, select the new pickaxe, and check that its name is shown as the active item. If you leave the Safe Zone without this confirmation, you may be carrying the default tool or no selected tool at all.

Test one reachable egg
With the pickaxe visibly equipped, approach an egg you can normally reach and left-click it. Use the same familiar target each time you compare tools. A consistent target makes it easier to tell whether the upgrade changed breaking performance instead of confusing a route, zone, or movement problem with a tool problem.

Separate breaking from stealing
Once the egg opens, press E to steal the animal and attempt the return run. If the egg opens but the guard catches you, the pickaxe has completed its job; investigate movement, route choice, Speed, or Trails. Do not buy a stronger pickaxe to solve an escape that is already failing after the break.

Refresh a stale shop or inventory
If the row, price, or equipment list still looks wrong, leave and rejoin the experience, then inspect the live interface again. Rejoining is especially useful when the panel shows an old list, a completed purchase is not reflected, or an item appears in one interface but not another. The current server display should take precedence over an older guide.

Use the correct upgrade for the actual bottleneck
Pickaxe Power applies to the egg-breaking stage. Speed and Trails affect movement, route access, and the escape from guards. The fastest diagnosis is to observe the first point at which a run fails:

When an egg opens but delivery fails, buying another pickaxe spends Cash on the wrong system. Conversely, a faster character cannot compensate for a tool that cannot break the target efficiently.

Pickaxe Power reference
A dated 2026 pickaxe guide records the following Power ladder. These are reference values for the named tools, not guaranteed swing counts or seconds. The guide does not provide egg-health and damage rules needed for a precise timer calculation, so compare the same egg before and after an upgrade instead of promising a specific time saving.

Use this ladder to understand relative progression, not to infer the current shop’s price, order, or availability. Updates may alter the rows shown in your server. Always read the live item name, price, and requirement before buying.
Why a purchase can look unsuccessful
The purchase button is inactive
Check the Cash total against the exact number and suffix on the row, then reopen the shop after earning more Cash. A panel that was already open may not immediately show the new balance or an updated state.
The item was bought but is not visible during a run
Buying and equipping are separate actions. Return to the equipment interface, select the item, and verify the active name. Test it at the Safe Zone before travelling to an egg.
The old guide shows a different row or location
Shop placement, item lists, and labels can change after updates. Use the current server interface as the final authority. If the live panel still conflicts with your completed purchase, rejoin and inspect it again.
The egg still seems immune
First confirm that the pickaxe is active and that you are left-clicking a reachable egg. Then compare the same target with the previous tool. If breaking remains slow, the issue is likely Power or the target’s health, not the purchase itself. Exact break times cannot be calculated from the available Power list because the game’s egg-health and damage rules are not specified.

Do not buy a physical replacement
This is an in-game virtual-tool problem. The Cash purchase flow does not require a Roblox gift card or a Robux balance. A physical pickaxe replica, gaming accessory, or printed guide cannot equip the virtual item or repair the game’s inventory state. Spend in-game Cash only after the live shop confirms the item and your equipment screen confirms that it is active.
Platform and implementation caveat
Roblox Creator Hub documentation explains that tools equip from a player’s Backpack and that anchored tool parts can make a character stick during equip. That is useful background for developers, but it does not prove that Break and Steal an Egg has that implementation bug. Players should not assume that a stuck character is caused by anchored parts. Follow the Safe Zone, shop, equipment, test, and rejoin checklist first; if it still fails, use the experience’s live support or interface.
A short decision tree
- No item in the shop or inventory: return to the Safe Zone, check Cash and the current row, reopen the panel, and rejoin if the list remains stale.
- Item listed but not active: equip it manually and verify the active name before leaving.
- Active tool but slow egg breaking: compare the same egg and evaluate Pickaxe Power.
- Egg opens but the animal is lost: stop changing pickaxes; work on Speed, Trails, and the escape route.
- Zone remains inaccessible: inspect the current zone requirement and movement-related upgrades.
The reliable order is therefore: Safe Zone, live price, purchase, equipment confirmation, same-egg test, then movement diagnosis. That order prevents a stale interface or the wrong upgrade category from masquerading as a broken pickaxe.
