Braun NEVO is a premium foil shaver that reviewers praise for a close, comfortable shave, but its polished build and automatic-care features come with practical compromises and a high price. It is most compelling for someone who shaves frequently and values an easy, close electric shave; the evidence does not establish that it is a better buy than Braun’s Series 9 Pro+ for everyone.
What is Braun NEVO?
NEVO is a new premium Braun shaver platform positioned above the company’s established Series 9 Pro+ family. The UK range includes 15000c and 17010c configurations, with different colors, accessories and box contents. Check the exact model and bundle before buying rather than assuming every NEVO includes the same care station or travel case. How the shaving system works
Braun describes NEVO’s AeroTouch design as a textured, low-friction foil working with synchronized cutting elements, including a Skin Guard and elements intended to catch hairs growing in different directions or lying flat. The 17010c listing specifies five shaving elements and 250 “diamond sharp” blades or edges. That wording, like Braun’s “world’s first” language, is manufacturer marketing rather than independent proof of a particular performance advantage.

Braun claims the shaver “shaves close and glides up to 24% better” than other Braun Series shavers. The pages reviewed do not provide the underlying comparative study, methodology or sample, so this is a brand claim, not an independently established result.
How well does it shave?
The strongest case for NEVO is the firsthand feedback from two reviewers, both of whom describe close and comfortable results. Those experiences are encouraging, not a guarantee across different skin types, beard growth or shaving habits.
Expert Reviews: several weeks of use
Leon Poultney at Expert Reviews used NEVO as his primary electric shaver for several weeks, first on several days of growth and then for daily short stubble. He found the shave faster than the Philips i9000 Prestige Ultra in his comparison and described the fit and finish as among the best he had encountered in grooming products. That speed comparison is his experience, not a general result for all users.

Poultney also noted that the metallic body readily picks up fingerprints. He found the full-colour display bright and readable, with useful battery and maintenance prompts, and noted that there is no dedicated Braun app. His full hands-on account was published on 31 July 2026 at Expert Reviews.
Men’s Health: close, gentle results, including around the neck
Sean Zucker at Men’s Health reported that NEVO cut cleanly around difficult neck areas with fewer passes than the Series 9 he compared it with, speculating that the slimmer head and lighter design may help. He described dry shaving as close and gentle, while acknowledging that some areas still need repeat passes. What the mixed evidence means
These are two favorable reviewer experiences, not a controlled comparison establishing that NEVO is superior to Series 9 Pro+ or best for every beard. Braun Shop UK also hosts positive buyer reviews, but some say they were submitted after the buyer received a free sample. One retailer-hosted reviewer criticized the price-to-performance ratio, saying the shaver needed repeated passes and did not match a manual razor’s closeness. Battery, charging and cleaning trade-offs
Braun lists up to 60 minutes of runtime and a five-minute quick charge on its UK product page. In two battery rundown tests, Poultney recorded 52 and 54 minutes—below the stated maximum. These are his observed results, not a promise of what another person will get. Men’s Health describes a different pattern: after about a month of short sessions, Zucker said the shaver was still running on its initial charge. That report is not a controlled rundown test.

Charging is a notable practical compromise. Poultney says the Care Centre and Power Travel case use Braun’s traditional two-pin bathroom plug and calls the absence of USB-C an obvious omission. The full-colour display can show battery status, but it does not resolve the inconvenience for buyers who want USB-C charging.
The Care System cleans, lubricates or care-treats, dries and charges the shaver; Braun calls it a 7-in-1 system. Poultney reports that cleaning and drying take about 10–15 minutes and are somewhat noisy. The station may be worthwhile if automatic dock-based care is central to your routine; if you prefer rinsing or brushing manually, its cycle time, noise and footprint may count against it. Cleaning cartridges are recurring supplies, and their cost depends on current local refill pricing.

What comes in the box?
Accessories vary by model and market. Some configurations include the shaver, 7-in-1 Care System, PowerCase, a cleaning-cartridge refill, brush and pouch; Braun warns that attachments may not be available in every country. The 17010c page describes a travel PowerCase, while other bundles differ. Verify the seller’s exact box contents before comparing prices.
Poultney found the travel case useful for trips but unnecessary for someone who mainly shaves at home. Its value depends on whether you will use the travel charging feature, not simply on whether it is included.

It depends on how often you shave and which parts of the package matter to you. The case for paying a premium is strongest if you shave daily, prioritize a close electric shave, and will use the automatic-care system or travel case. For occasional shaving, a buyer who is satisfied with a less expensive foil shaver, or someone who does not want a cleaning station and its refills, may find the extra spend harder to justify.

Prices differ by date, country, model and bundle. When accessed for this article, Braun Shop UK displayed the 17010C at £419.99 against a listed RRP of £839.99, and a 15000C bundle with a replacement head and CCR4 cartridge at £447.99 against £799.98. These are retailer snapshots, not stable recommended prices. T3 reported on 29 July 2026 that the 15000C had a £739.99 RRP and was priced at £369.99 from Braun at that time. In the US, Men’s Health gives $600 as the retail price for the full kit. These listings are for different markets, dates and bundles; they are not like-for-like offers. Series 9 Pro+ is the most relevant Braun comparison because NEVO is positioned as a new platform above it, and Men’s Health directly compared the two. The available reviews support positive impressions of NEVO’s closeness and comfort, but they do not establish a universal performance winner. Use the current price and the particular features you will use to make the choice.

Also compare NEVO with a less expensive foil shaver at the price you can actually buy it for. The available sources do not establish a named lower-cost model or like-for-like test, so the sensible comparison is practical: your current shave quality, how many passes you tolerate, the charging setup, and whether automatic cleaning and travel charging earn their place in your routine.

Braun recommends replacing the NEVO head every 18 months for optimal shaving performance and identifies the original NEVO-S replacement head. Braun says using original parts avoids damage; that is the manufacturer’s warning, not independent evidence that every third-party head causes damage. Check compatibility and local availability on Braun’s NEVO-S replacement-head page.
Factor the cleaning cartridges into the cost only if you plan to use the Care System; refill prices and expected cartridge life vary, and no annual cost should be assumed without checking local details. Braun’s product page lists a five-year warranty, but legal terms and registration requirements apply; a separate support passage describes a country-specific legal warranty plus an extension that depends on registration. Confirm the terms that apply in your country and for your model before purchase.
