The available catalog records identify the editions, but do not establish which cover looks best; a fair art comparison depends on inspecting the scans themselves.
Three editions, two titles
GameFAQs lists a Japanese release under the title Z.O.E: 2173 Testament, followed by US and European releases titled Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars. The records date the Japanese release to September 27, 2001, the US release to February 26, 2002, and the European release to June 7, 2002. All are identified as Konami Game Boy Advance releases, developed by WinkySoft and categorized as turn-based strategy.

What the documented scans let you compare
The regional set makes this a useful side-by-side exercise, but catalog entries alone cannot support claims about each cover’s artwork. Compare the scans directly before judging their choices, especially at the small scale of a GBA box:
#1 Best Overall
- Engage in close-quarters combat and long-range laser attacks with the versatile mech system
- Upgrade mechs to boost strength and firepower
- Command mech units with precision across expansive battlefields
- Tackle diverse missions and objectives for varied strategic gameplay
- Immerse yourself in the intense, futuristic techno soundtrack during mech battles
- Composition and focal point: Notice what draws the eye first and how the main subject is arranged within the frame.
- Mecha, characters, and setting: Check which elements are emphasized and how the imagery situates the story.
- Title and logo: Compare title treatment, placement, and the balance between branding and artwork.
- Regional text and marks: Look at how each edition handles language, ratings, and other packaging information.
- Color and legibility: Consider palette, contrast, and whether key details remain clear when the cover is viewed at thumbnail size.
These are comparison points, not claims that one region uses a particular composition or design. The catalog establishes which scans are listed, not their visual contents or a winner.

The Japanese edition’s release identity is independently echoed by RF Generation, which records Z.O.E: 2173 Testament as a Game Boy Advance cartridge with part number AGB-AZEJ-JPN. Its listing is available at RF Generation. That supports treating it as a distinct regional physical release; it does not, by itself, establish any visual detail about its box.
For series context, Zone of the Enders: The Unofficial Site identifies The Fist of Mars alongside its Japanese title, 2173 Testament. The regional title change is therefore part of the comparison, but it should not be mistaken for evidence that the cover art itself changed in any specific way.
