It may still appear in retail listings, but Bose’s product page and its displayed $299 price do not establish that it is currently available to buy at that price. Treat it as a legacy-model purchase and verify the seller, condition, price and return terms before ordering.
What the QuietComfort SE is—and what Bose documents
Bose describes the product as QuietComfort SE Headphones. Its support specifications identify an around-ear fit, protein-leather ear cushions and Bluetooth 5.1. Bose lists approximate battery life as 22 hours, charging time as 2.25 hours, and Bluetooth range as up to 33 feet (10 meters). These are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured results. Bose’s QuietComfort SE specifications and sale-period information do not provide independent evidence about sound quality, noise cancellation, call performance or long-session comfort.

Bose positions its QuietComfort family around comfort and noise cancellation. That is the manufacturer’s product positioning, not a conclusion from comparative testing.
What comes in the box
Bose lists the headphones, a safety sheet, a quick start guide, a 2.5 mm-to-3.5 mm AUX cable, a USB A-to-C cable and a soft case as included items. The manual identifies the included headphones as QuietComfort 45 headphones; that documentation should not be taken as proof of exact feature equivalence between the models.

How it compares with current QuietComfort options
Bose also lists current QuietComfort Headphones and QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) products. Bose’s support specifications for the current QuietComfort Headphones list Bluetooth 5.1, but the available official information here does not establish a controlled comparison of sound, noise cancellation, comfort or value against the SE.
| Buying consideration | What is established |
|---|---|
| SE lifecycle | Bose lists the SE as sold from 2022 to 2025. |
| Current alternatives | Bose has product pages for QuietComfort Headphones and QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen); current price and availability can vary. |
| Bluetooth version | Bose lists Bluetooth 5.1 for the SE and for QuietComfort Headphones. |
| Comparative performance | Not established by the official product and support information cited here. |
Check Bose’s QuietComfort Headphones specifications and QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) product listing alongside the SE listing. Compare the live price, availability, included case and accessories, documented specifications, seller and return policy. Without reliable direct performance comparisons, a higher or lower generation number alone is not a basis for assuming which sounds or cancels noise better.

Should you buy a QuietComfort SE now?
Consider the SE if you have found a verifiable listing at a price and condition you accept, and the documented fit, wired cable, case and manufacturer specifications suit your needs. Prefer checking current QuietComfort models if you want a model Bose currently lists, or if a retailer cannot clearly identify the SE’s condition, seller or return terms. Bose’s displayed $299 price is not proof of a live offer.

Replacement cushions and airline adapters
Bose’s SE support page lists a QuietComfort 45 ear cushion kit and a QuietComfort airline adapter among accessories. A listing on the support page does not establish universal compatibility with every SE unit. Before buying either accessory, confirm the exact headphone model and physical connector fit with Bose or the seller. An airline adapter is relevant only if you plan to use a wired connection with compatible in-flight audio equipment.
