Bosch’s current Australian specification sheet lists a maximum exhaust-air extraction rate of 612 m³/h according to EN 61591, and a maximum normal-use recirculation rate of 273 m³/h. These are manufacturer figures; they should not be read as CHOICE test results.

What are the noise ratings?
Bosch lists maximum normal-use sound power as 69 dB(A) re 1 pW for exhaust operation and 66 dB(A) re 1 pW for recirculation. The sheet also gives 49/69 dB for minimum/maximum normal level. These are manufacturer sound-power specifications, not sound-pressure measurements at a listener’s position. CHOICE’s public page does not disclose its noise score or a measured noise result.

Can the DWB65BC50A be recirculated?
Yes. Bosch lists recirculation operation at up to 273 m³/h, but says a separately available recirculation kit is required. The Australian documents reviewed do not establish the kit’s exact model number. Before purchase, confirm with Bosch or an authorised parts supplier that the kit and any required filter are compatible with your particular unit and region. CHOICE marks recirculating-mode testing as “Not tested,” so there is no public independent recirculation result to rely on.

What installation details should you check?
Bosch’s specification sheet gives a minimum clearance of 600 mm above an electric cooktop and 750 mm above a gas cooktop. CHOICE’s public listing instead states a minimum mounting height of 550 mm and a maximum of 700 mm, and recommends a 150 mm duct diameter. Bosch’s sheet lists a 120 mm outlet diameter. These published details differ; do not treat them as interchangeable installation instructions.
Check the model-specific installation instruction and applicable local requirements before fitting the hood. In particular, verify the required clearance for your cooktop and the duct route and diameter with the installer. Bosch lists a standard 10 Amp plug and a 1.5 m cord.
