Bombchu Bowling costs 30 rupees and asks child Link to land three Bombchus in ten shots. Its five possible prizes are a Piece of Heart, Big Bomb Bag upgrade, Bombchus, Bombs, or a 50-rupee Purple Rupee. The Piece of Heart and Big Bomb Bag are awarded only once per save file; the other prizes can recur. Where to play and what it costs
The Bombchu Bowling Alley is the bowling building in Castle Town Market (Hyrule Castle Town). It is available to child Link after you complete Dodongo’s Cavern. Each attempt costs 30 rupees. Before you start, the game presents one of five possible rewards:

The reward is selected for that game, so you may need to pay for several rounds before the Piece of Heart appears. Once you have collected the one-time heart piece, it will not be offered again on that save.

The three-stage challenge
You have ten Bombchu shots to score three successful hits. A Bombchu runs along the floor and detonates after a short delay, so aim for the opening rather than trying to steer it after launch. The three stages use different target layouts:

- Stage 1: a center target with a moving spike trap.
- Stage 2: a target on the left, center, or right, with obstacles that change the approach.
- Stage 3: a center target combined with spike traps and moving Cuccos.
Because the target pattern can vary, watch the lane before firing. Use the first few shots to learn the movement and reserve the remaining attempts for clean openings. Missing a target does not end the game; you only lose one of the ten available shots.
Getting the Bombchu Bowling Piece of Heart
- Play as child Link after completing Dodongo’s Cavern.
- Enter the Bombchu Bowling Alley in Castle Town Market and pay 30 rupees.
- Complete the three-stage course by landing Bombchus in the target three times within ten shots.
- Repeat the game whenever the displayed prize is not the Piece of Heart.
- Collect the Piece of Heart when it appears. It counts toward the 36-piece total immediately.
The Big Bomb Bag follows the same one-time-reward rule. Bombs, Bombchus, and the Purple Rupee remain available after their first appearance, making the alley useful for supplies even after you have collected its heart piece.
All 36 Pieces of Heart in Ocarina of Time
Collecting four Pieces of Heart creates one complete Heart Container. The entries below are grouped by region and retain the conditions that determine whether a location is currently reachable. “Child” and “adult” refer to Link’s age; day/night requirements matter where stated.

1. Castle Town Market alley — child, night
At night, find the white dog wandering around the market. Lead it from the otherwise empty stall to the woman waiting in the back alley. When the dog reaches her, she gives you the Piece of Heart.
2. Castle Town Market treasure-chest game — child, night
Enter the Treasure Chest Shop at night and win the chest game. The Lens of Truth reveals the correct chest route; without it, you can still succeed by guessing. The final chest contains the Piece of Heart.
3. West of Castle Town Market — child or adult
Bomb the tree west of the market to open a grotto. Dive to the bottom using the Golden Scale or Iron Boots and collect the Piece of Heart underwater.
4. Hyrule Field Business Scrub — child or adult
Bomb the fenced patch near the Lake Hylia entrance. Defeat or pass through the grotto to reach the Business Scrub, then buy its Piece of Heart for 10 rupees.
Lon Lon Ranch and the Lost Woods
5. Lon Lon Ranch silo — child
Inside the ranch, move the silo crate to expose a crawlspace. Crawl through the opening to reach the Piece of Heart.

6. Lost Woods Skull Kid song game — child
Find the Skull Kids in the Lost Woods and complete their song game three times. The third successful round awards the Piece of Heart.
7. Lost Woods Saria’s Song — child
On the short stump in the Lost Woods, play Saria’s Song for the Skull Kid. The Skull Kid gives you the Piece of Heart for the performance.
Kakariko Village and Graveyard
8. Graveyard pulled grave — child or adult
Pull the specified grave in Kakariko Graveyard. Defeat the ReDead inside with Sun’s Song; the song also reveals the chest containing the Piece of Heart.

Pay Dampé to dig at the edges of the dirt piles in the graveyard. Keep trying different piles until he uncovers the Piece of Heart.
10. Kakariko cow-house roof and crack — child or adult
Reach the roof or the crack above the cow house by using the owl’s nighttime drop as child Link or a Hookshot as adult Link. Enter the space to collect the Piece of Heart.
11. Graveyard bean-stalk crate — adult
As a child, plant a Magic Bean in the graveyard soil. Return as an adult, ride the grown bean stalk, and roll into the elevated crate to break it and reveal the Piece of Heart.
12. Kakariko windmill Dampé maze — adult
Complete Dampé’s race maze inside the windmill and follow the route to the raised platform. The Piece of Heart is waiting there.

13. Dampé race — adult
Finish Dampé’s graveyard race in under one minute. In the second-to-last room, Longshot the torch to save time; meeting the time limit earns the Piece of Heart.

14. Kakariko Village roof — adult, day
During the day, use the Longshot to reach the roof near the windmill. Speak with the man there to receive the Piece of Heart.
Death Mountain, Goron City, and Death Mountain Crater
15. Goron City spinning jar — child
Light the required torches in Goron City, then spin the large Goron Jar. Stop it with the happy face pointing toward the camera; the Piece of Heart appears when the alignment is correct.
16. Above Dodongo’s Cavern — child or adult
Reach the ledge above Dodongo’s Cavern. Child Link can backflip up to it; adult Link can use the Magic Bean planted there as a child. The Piece of Heart rests on the ledge.
17. Death Mountain Crater alcove — adult
Enter the crater from the mountain trail and climb down into the straight-ahead alcove. The Piece of Heart is on the ledge inside.
18. Death Mountain Crater bean sprout — adult
Plant a Magic Bean in the crater as child Link. As an adult, ride the bean sprout to the top of the first smoking pillar and pick up the Piece of Heart.
Zora’s River, Zora’s Domain, Zora’s Fountain, and Lake Hylia
19. Zora’s River pillar — child or adult
Carry a Cucco to the pillar in Zora’s River and use it to cross to the Piece of Heart.
20. Zora’s River waterfall-side platform — child or adult
Use a Cucco to glide to the platform beside the waterfall. Adult Link can instead use Hover Boots to reach it; the Piece of Heart is on the platform.

21. Zora’s Domain torches — child
Light the required torches around Zora’s Domain. When all are lit, a chest appears with the Piece of Heart.

22. Zora’s Fountain floating ice — adult
After the water freezes, walk across the floating ice in Zora’s Fountain and pick up the Piece of Heart from the exposed platform.
23. Zora’s Fountain underwater — adult
Equip the Blue Tunic and Iron Boots, sink to the bottom of Zora’s Fountain, and collect the Piece of Heart resting there.
24. Lake Hylia fishing pond — child
Visit the fishing pond as child Link and catch the largest fish. Have it weighed; the record catch earns the Piece of Heart.
25. Lake Hylia laboratory bottom — child or adult
Use the Golden Scale to dive to the bottom of the laboratory tank. Speak to the scientist after reaching the bottom to receive the Piece of Heart.
26. Lake Hylia laboratory roof — adult
Ride the Magic Bean stalk to the laboratory roof, or reach the roof by the scarecrow route. Climb the ladder and take the Piece of Heart.
27. Zora’s River frogs: Song of Storms — child
Find the music-loving frogs and play Song of Storms for them. Their reward is a Piece of Heart.
28. Zora’s River frogs: bug-catching game — child
After playing the non-warp ocarina songs for the frogs, complete their bug-catching game. The successful game awards another Piece of Heart.
Gerudo Valley and Gerudo Fortress
29. Gerudo Valley waterfall niche — child or adult
Reach the niche behind the waterfall in Gerudo Valley. The Piece of Heart is tucked into the hidden recess.

30. Gerudo Valley crate — child or adult
As child Link, use a Cucco to glide to the isolated crate. As adult Link, Longshot the opposite ledge. Break or enter the crate area to collect the Piece of Heart.
31. Gerudo Fortress archery — adult, day
Play the Gerudo Fortress horseback archery challenge during the day. Score at least 1,000 points to earn the Piece of Heart.
32. Gerudo Fortress roof — adult
Reach the fortress roof and the chest there with the Longshot or Scarecrow’s Song. Open the chest for the Piece of Heart.

33. Ice Cavern red ice — adult
In the icicle room of the Ice Cavern, melt the red-ice block. The Piece of Heart is behind it.
34. Desert Colossus arch — adult
Plant a Magic Bean at the Desert Colossus as child Link. Return as an adult and ride the mature bean platform up to the arch, where the Piece of Heart is located.
House of Skulltula
35. Fifth resident reward — child or adult
Collect at least 50 Gold Skulltula tokens, then speak to the fifth freed resident in the House of Skulltula. That resident gives you a Piece of Heart.
How to plan an efficient collection route
- Separate age-locked tasks: Complete child-only activities such as the fishing pond, frog games, Bombchu Bowling, and Lost Woods songs before repeatedly switching eras.
- Plant every Magic Bean: Bean rewards appear later in adult areas, including Death Mountain, Kakariko Graveyard, Lake Hylia, and Desert Colossus.
- Carry the right equipment: Keep Bombs, Hookshot or Longshot, Cuccos, Blue Tunic, Iron Boots, Golden Scale, Hover Boots, and the Lens of Truth available when routing several locations together.
- Use time-of-day requirements: The white-dog reward, Dampé digging, and the Treasure Chest Shop require night; Gerudo archery and the Kakariko roof resident require day.
- Budget rupees: Bombchu Bowling costs 30 rupees per attempt, the Hyrule Field Business Scrub charges 10 rupees, and Dampé’s digging service also requires payment for each try.
- Track one-time rewards: The Bombchu Bowling Piece of Heart and Big Bomb Bag cannot be won again on the same save, while supply prizes can recur.
Use the numbered list as a save-file checklist. When all 36 entries are collected, every four Pieces of Heart become a full Heart Container, completing the optional heart-piece upgrades available across Hyrule.
