If Bobara is showing old weather, the wrong place, or no rain and snow alerts, start with the settings that let iOS provide location data and let the app work in the background. Check Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Bobara, enable the most permissive background-capable option available and Precise Location, then review Bobara under Settings > Notifications. Next, turn on both the global and Bobara-specific switches in Settings > General > Background App Refresh and temporarily disable Low Power Mode while testing.
Those steps address the three separate paths involved: finding your current location, delivering alerts, and refreshing data when Bobara is not open. If a widget still shows another city, edit the widget itself; it may be pinned to a saved place by design. Only after permissions and refresh settings are correct should you move to closing, updating, restarting, offloading, or reinstalling the app.

What Bobara needs in order to follow local weather
Bobara is an entertainment app from Lotus Apps, LLC in which Momo’s onsen mirrors weather where you are. Its App Store description says, “When it rains where you are, it rains here too. Snow as well. I like both.” The weather effects can include rain, snow, wind, and thunderstorms.
That behavior relies on iOS location access and on the operating system allowing Bobara to refresh when it is not on screen. Notifications have a separate permission path, and a widget can use its own selected location rather than the phone’s current position. A failure in any one of these paths can look like the same problem even though the remedy is different.

Compatibility and supported surfaces
The App Store listing requires iOS 18.0 or later. The listing also identifies Apple Watch support, a watch complication, Home Screen widgets, and Night Stand Mode. If the device cannot run iOS 18, installing or updating the current listing is not an available fix; use a compatible device before diagnosing refresh behavior.
Fix Bobara’s location first
A wrong location or weather that never changes usually starts with location permission. iOS can deny access, provide only limited access, or provide an approximate position when the app needs a precise one.
Set a background-capable permission
- Open Settings on the iPhone or iPad.
- Tap Privacy & Security, then Location Services.
- Select Bobara.
- Choose the most permissive option available that allows background-capable access. The exact choices can vary by iOS version and the permission state already granted.
- Turn on Precise Location when that switch is shown.
Apple’s weather guidance identifies an “Always” location setting and Precise Location as the combination used for more accurate current-location notifications. Bobara is not Apple’s Weather app, but it depends on the same class of iOS location permission to follow the place where the device is being used. If you previously selected a limited option, return to this screen and change it rather than assuming the app can infer your movement.

Check the result without changing several things at once
After changing location access, open Bobara once while you are at the place you want it to follow. Give it a moment to load, then close and reopen it if the scene still reflects the old conditions. Testing after the permission change tells you whether the original fault was location access or an additional refresh problem. Do not use a widget as the first test: a widget may be configured for a saved city even when the app itself is using current location.

Restore Bobara notifications
Location permission and notification permission are independent. Bobara can know where you are but remain silent if iOS is blocking alerts, or iOS can permit alerts while Bobara’s own controls are disabled.
Allow alerts in iOS
- Open Settings.
- Tap Notifications, then choose Bobara.
- Turn on Allow Notifications.
- Enable the alert types and presentation options you want, such as banners, sounds, or lock-screen delivery when those controls are offered on your device.
Apple’s documented weather-notification flow first grants notification and location access, then enables severe-weather and next-hour-precipitation alerts. Bobara’s available alert choices can differ from Apple Weather’s, so use the controls that Bobara presents rather than expecting those names to appear.
Inspect Bobara’s own notification controls
Open Bobara and look for its notification or alert settings. Turn on the weather events you want there as well as in iOS. Both layers must allow an alert: an enabled in-app option cannot bypass a disabled system permission, and a system permission alone does not turn on every alert inside Bobara.
Use a notification as a diagnostic test
Once both layers are enabled, leave the app and wait for a weather change that should produce an alert. If the scene updates when Bobara is opened but no alert arrives, the remaining issue is more likely notification configuration than location. If neither the scene nor alerts update, continue with Background App Refresh and the maintenance steps below.

Turn on background updating
Bobara cannot reliably follow changing weather while closed if iOS or the app is barred from background work. iOS also reduces background activity to preserve battery, so a stale scene does not necessarily mean the service is unavailable.
Enable the global and app switches
- Open Settings.
- Tap General, then Background App Refresh.
- Make sure the main Background App Refresh switch is on.
- Make sure the switch beside Bobara is on.
Both switches matter. Turning on Bobara while the global control is off does not grant background activity, and a global setting cannot override an individual app switch that is off.
Temporarily disable Low Power Mode while diagnosing
Turn off Low Power Mode for the test. Support guidance for weather apps identifies Low Power Mode and iOS limits on background updates as common causes of stale conditions. This is a diagnostic step, not a requirement to keep Low Power Mode off permanently. Once you know whether background delivery is the cause, you can decide whether the battery trade-off is acceptable.

Understand what background refresh can and cannot promise
Background App Refresh permits iOS to update an app; it is not a guarantee of an exact refresh interval. iOS schedules background work according to system conditions and battery policy. Therefore, a brief delay does not prove that Bobara is broken. The useful test is whether the app eventually reflects a changed location or weather after the permissions and switches are correct.

Correct a widget that shows the wrong place
A Bobara or Weather widget can remain tied to a saved location. Moving to another city does not automatically change a widget that was deliberately configured for a different place.
- Touch and hold the Bobara or Weather widget on the Home Screen.
- Tap Edit.
- Choose My Location or select the intended saved place.
- Tap outside the widget or use the on-screen confirmation to save the change.
Apple documents this location-selection workflow for Weather widgets. If the widget now follows your device but the Bobara scene does not, return to the location-permission and background-refresh sections; the two surfaces are not necessarily reading the same selected place.
Use the maintenance sequence after settings are correct
Once location, notification, and background controls are set, perform the following in order. Each step is low risk and provides a different diagnostic signal.
- Fully close and reopen Bobara. Remove it from the app switcher, then launch it again. This clears a stuck foreground session and forces a new load.
- Check for an App Store update. Open the App Store, search for Bobara, and install an offered update. A current build is the appropriate baseline before deeper troubleshooting.
- Restart the iPhone or iPad. A restart can clear a system process that is preventing location delivery or scheduled refresh.
- Test again with Low Power Mode off. Keep the same location and notification settings while testing so you can tell whether the maintenance step changed the result.
The Bureau of Meteorology lists close/reopen, update, and restart as standard recovery actions for weather apps that stop refreshing. These actions do not change your location choice or notification policy, which makes them useful after configuration checks.

Offload or reinstall Bobara as the final local fix
If Bobara still shows stale conditions after the settings and maintenance sequence, reinstalling can replace damaged app files or a stuck local cache.
Try offloading first when preserving data matters
- Open Settings and go to General > iPhone Storage (or the corresponding storage screen on iPad).
- Select Bobara.
- Choose Offload App, then confirm.
- Reinstall the app from the same screen and open it again.
iOS removes the app itself while retaining app data where possible. You may still need to review permissions and notification choices after the app returns, because those controls belong to iOS and the application configuration rather than to the removed executable.
Delete and reinstall when offloading does not help
- Use the Bobara storage screen or the Home Screen to choose Delete App, then confirm.
- Download Bobara again from its official App Store listing.
- Open it and grant location and notification access when prompted.
- Re-enable any in-app weather alerts and verify the widget location.
Deleting removes local app data that an offload may preserve. Use it only after the less destructive steps, and expect to configure Bobara again. The Bureau of Meteorology documents deleting and reinstalling as a recovery option when weather-app functionality does not return.

Battery and data-preservation trade-offs
Location access and Background App Refresh can use more battery than a manually opened app because they permit work while Bobara is not visible. Leaving Low Power Mode on reduces background activity and may delay updates. The practical choice is to keep the permissions and refresh behavior that match how quickly you want Bobara to follow changing conditions, then use Low Power Mode when battery preservation matters more than immediacy.
Changing a setting preserves the app and its data. Offloading is the least destructive reinstall option because iOS attempts to retain data. Deleting and reinstalling has the highest chance of clearing a local fault but also removes local app data and requires setup again.
When the problem may not be on your device
No authoritative Bobara outage notice is established here, so an outage should not be assumed from one stale update. First complete the local checks: current-location permission, Precise Location, notification permission, in-app alerts, both Background App Refresh switches, and the Low Power Mode test. If Bobara remains stale after an update, restart, and reinstall, record whether opening the app changes the scene and whether widgets and notifications fail in the same way. That distinction is useful when contacting the app’s support channel or checking for a service announcement.
