Bobara is a $4.99, one-time-purchase app from Lotus Apps, LLC that puts Momo, a capybara living in a small hot spring, on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Expected to open November 9, 2026, it turns local weather and occasional real-world boba purchases into a quiet, collection-focused companion experience rather than a game built around streaks, reminders or competition.
What Bobara is
Bobara is designed as an ambient companion. Momo lives in an onsen that changes with the user’s surroundings and the time of day. The app does not present itself as a productivity tool, fitness tracker or competitive game. Lotus Apps describes the experience as deliberately low pressure: there is no hunger meter, no streak system and no reminder cycle that penalizes you for not returning.

The central idea is to give users a small place to check in when they want. Opening the app can show Momo relaxing in the hot spring, with the environment reflecting conditions outside your window.

What happens if you do not allow location
The weather-mirroring feature depends on location permission. Without that permission, Bobara cannot match Momo’s sky to your local conditions. The available material does not specify an alternative manual-location workflow, so users who decline access should not expect the documented local-weather behavior.

What logging a boba tea does
Bobara’s main interaction connects the digital companion to a real drink. After you buy a boba tea, you tap it into the app as a check-in. That action can produce several outcomes:
- A new visitor or friend may appear at the hot spring.
- A tea-house shelf prize may be added to your collection.
- A character already present may receive more time in the onsen.
- A repeat drink does not create a duplicate entry; it can instead deepen the relationship with a returning visitor.
The app therefore treats repeat purchases as relationship progress rather than an inventory duplication system. Preparing or buying a real drink is optional; the documented experience does not say that users must purchase boba on a schedule.

Privacy and the technology behind it
App Store metadata reports “Data Not Collected.” Apple qualifies that disclosure as information supplied by the developer and not verified by Apple, so it should be read as a developer declaration rather than an independent privacy audit.
Lotus Apps’ portfolio names Swift, SwiftUI, SwiftData, WidgetKit, WeatherKit and CloudKit as technologies used to build Bobara. Those technologies indicate Apple-platform integration for the interface, weather data, widgets and stored app content, but they do not by themselves establish how long any data is retained or how a user’s location is processed.
Who Bobara is for
Bobara is a fit for people who want a small, calming digital ritual tied to their surroundings. Its defining choices are local-weather reactivity, a real-world boba check-in and collection elements without decay mechanics. It is less suitable for anyone looking for goals, leaderboards, exercise tracking, scheduled reminders or a large social game.
