Choose by verified local price, stock, return terms and the feature you will actually use—not by the headline battery or Bluetooth number. boAt lists all three Airdopes Plus models with Bluetooth 6.0, IPX4 protection, 13 mm drivers, up to 60 hours of playback and a 55 ms BEAST Mode gaming setting. The available manufacturer material does not establish a winner for sound quality, comfort, call clarity or real-world endurance. The 222 adds Spatial Audio, the 224 also lists Spatial Audio but has an unresolved microphone-count contradiction, and the 221 explicitly lacks active noise cancellation (ANC). Check the exact model and seller page immediately before paying.
What is actually different between the Airdopes Plus 221, 222 and 224?
On paper, these are very close true-wireless earbuds. The principal differences documented by boAt are Spatial Audio availability, the 221’s explicitly stated Multipoint setting, and a microphone specification for the 224 that is internally inconsistent. The shared figures are manufacturer specifications, not results from a controlled three-way listening or battery test.

Bluetooth 6.0 is not a sound-quality ranking
All three list Bluetooth 6.0, so that number cannot distinguish them. Bluetooth version describes the wireless platform; it does not by itself tell you which earbuds sound better, stay connected more reliably in your particular environment, or last longer. Phone compatibility, software, radio interference and the fit of the buds can matter more. The 221 support page names SBC and AAC codecs. The supplied 222 and 224 material does not name their codecs, so do not assume that they offer a different codec set.
#1 Best Overall
13 mm drivers describe size, not tuning
Each model uses two 13 mm drivers. A larger published driver diameter does not establish bass quantity, vocal clarity, treble balance or distortion. No independent frequency-response, distortion or blind listening comparison was supplied for these three models. If sound is your deciding factor, use a seller with a meaningful return window and judge the fit and tonal balance yourself rather than treating the driver number as a winner.
IPX4 is splash resistance, not a waterproofing promise
IPX4 is listed for all three. It is intended for splashes and sweat exposure, not submersion, swimming or rinsing under a tap. Keep the charging case dry, wipe moisture from the contacts before charging and stop using a bud if liquid has entered it. The rating does not override the seller’s warranty exclusions.
“Up to 60 hours” is a ceiling, not a guaranteed session time
The 60-hour figure is a boAt claim for total playback using the case and repeated earbud charges. The 222 and 224 pages qualify their product-page figure at 60% volume; the 221 support specification states 60 hours without the same volume qualification. Actual time changes with volume, codec, call use, radio conditions and how often the buds are removed. Treat the number as a capacity class shared by all three, not proof that one lasts longer.
Rank #2

- Ideal for a bookworm
- Compact for travelling
55 ms BEAST Mode is a latency claim for compatible use
Each model lists 55 ms BEAST Mode. A low stated latency can make games feel more responsive, but the complete delay also depends on the phone, game, operating system and whether the mode is enabled. It does not turn the earbuds into a dedicated wired gaming headset, and no independent latency measurement for these models is available in the supplied material.
AI-ENx is for calls; it is not active noise cancellation
This distinction is the most important specification warning in the comparison. AI-Environmental Noise Cancellation (AI-ENx) refers to microphone processing intended to reduce surrounding noise picked up during calls. It is not the same as ANC, which uses the earbuds’ speakers to reduce external sound while you listen to music or podcasts.
For the 221, boAt’s support page gives an unambiguous answer: “No. Airdopes Plus 221 does not have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).” The page still lists two AI-ENx microphones. Therefore, do not buy the 221 expecting subway or aircraft noise to be electronically cancelled during playback. The supplied 222 and 224 pages document AI-ENx microphone claims, but they do not establish ANC as a feature; verify the current listing if listening-side noise cancellation is essential.
Rank #3
Fit also affects perceived isolation. A well-sealed in-ear tip can reduce some high-frequency outside sound passively, while a poor seal can make any earbud seem quiet and expose you to more environmental noise. Neither AI-ENx nor a claimed ANC label should replace checking the exact feature list and return policy.
Spatial Audio and Multipoint: the meaningful feature differences
Spatial Audio on the 222 and 224
The official product pages list Spatial Audio for the 222 and 224. The supplied material does not state Spatial Audio for the 221. Spatial processing can create a wider or more speaker-like presentation in supported content, but the effect depends on the phone, app, mix and implementation. It is not a guarantee of higher fidelity or louder output. If you specifically want this mode, choose a listing that names it for the exact model and confirm that your phone and apps support the required behavior.
Multipoint on the 221
The 221 support material says Multipoint is on by default. Multipoint can allow an earbud set to maintain connections with two devices, such as a phone and a laptop, so you can switch between them without repeatedly pairing. The supplied documentation does not establish Multipoint for the 222 or 224. Do not infer parity from their shared Bluetooth version; ask the seller or manufacturer for confirmation if two-device switching is a requirement.

Price and availability: why a “best under ₹999” list can mislead
The official pages checked on 13 October 2026 displayed ₹1,099 for the 222 and ₹1,199 for the 224. These are live-page observations, not fixed prices, and can change with promotions, region, stock and seller. No current official price for the 221 was established in the searched material. A search result may group all three under a “TWS under ₹999” headline, but that framing is not proof that every model is currently below ₹999; the contemporaneous official pages showed higher figures for two models. See the contextual listing at Digit, then verify the actual checkout price.
Compare the complete transaction, not only the headline number:
- Confirm that the listing title, photographs and model number all match 221, 222 or 224.
- Check whether the seller is authorised, whether the item is new and sealed, and whether the serial number and invoice are provided.
- Read the return window and conditions for opened in-ear products; a return policy that excludes hygiene products changes the risk of buying an untested fit.
- Check delivery area, replacement terms and warranty handling before paying.
- Refresh the page on the day you buy. A displayed price or “in stock” state from 13 October 2026 is not a promise for a later visit.
Which model should you buy?
Choose the Airdopes Plus 221 when Multipoint or a verified lower price matters
The 221 is the most defensible choice when you want the documented Multipoint setting, SBC/AAC codec information, a stated 10 m transmission range and USB Type-C, or when its local price is meaningfully below the other two. Its support page also gives unusually specific battery and charging figures. Buy it with the clear understanding that it does not include ANC. The source material does not prove that it sounds better, fits better or lasts longer than the 222 or 224.
Best Value
- It can be a gift option
- Comes with secure packaging
- Helpful in various ways
Choose the Airdopes Plus 222 when Spatial Audio is your priority
The 222 combines the shared battery, driver, IPX4, Bluetooth and latency claims with Spatial Audio on its official product page. At the observed official price of ₹1,099 on 13 October 2026, it was ₹100 below the 224 at the same check, although that difference may disappear with a sale or regional pricing. It is the logical pick for a buyer who has verified that Spatial Audio works with their phone and who values it more than the 221’s documented Multipoint. There is no evidence here that it delivers better call quality or endurance than the others.
Choose the Airdopes Plus 224 only after resolving the microphone question
The 224 lists Spatial Audio and the same principal battery and driver figures. Its official specification table says two AI-ENx-equipped microphones, while the page’s FAQ and descriptive copy say four microphones. Because those statements conflict, do not use a four-microphone claim as a buying advantage without confirmation from boAt or the exact seller listing. At the observed check it displayed ₹1,199, but that price and availability are changeable. It makes sense only when its current deal, stock or another verified model-specific feature justifies choosing it over the 222.
A practical decision table
| Your priority | Most sensible starting point | What to verify before checkout |
|---|---|---|
| Two-device switching | 221 | That Multipoint is still enabled by default in the current firmware and listing |
| Spatial Audio at the lowest observed official price | 222 | Current price, stock and compatibility with your phone or apps |
| Potentially newer model at a good sale price | 224 | Microphone count, return terms and whether its price is actually below the 222 |
| Listening-side ANC | None of these is established as an ANC choice by the supplied evidence | Look for an explicit ANC statement on the exact current product page; do not treat AI-ENx as ANC |
| Best sound, comfort or battery endurance | No evidence-based winner | Use fit, return rights and independent testing rather than the shared headline specifications |
How to verify a listing before you order
- Match the exact model. Open the manufacturer’s page or support page for the model number printed in the listing. Similar names and promotional bundles can hide a different product.
- Record the full landed cost. Include delivery fees, coupons that require a payment method, taxes shown at checkout and any extended-warranty charge. Compare that total with another seller, not just the large product-page price.
- Read the feature wording literally. “AI-ENx” is a call-microphone claim. “Up to 60 hours” is a maximum playback claim. “55 ms” is a stated BEAST Mode latency figure. None is an independent performance guarantee.
- Resolve uncertain specifications. For the 224, ask support whether the microphone configuration is two or four before relying on it. For the 222 and 224, ask about Multipoint if simultaneous phone-and-laptop use matters.
- Check after-sales terms. Confirm the warranty period, replacement process, service location, return eligibility after opening and what proof of purchase is required.
- Save evidence. Keep the invoice, serial number, screenshots of the advertised features and an unboxing video if the seller’s policy permits. These records help if the delivered model or included accessories differ from the listing.
What to test during the return window
Because the published specifications do not identify a performance winner, a short, systematic test is more useful than another spec-sheet comparison.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- Fit and seal: Try the supplied tips while walking and speaking. Check for pressure, looseness and whether one side loses its seal. Stop listening at unsafe volume; a good seal should not require maximum loudness.
- Everyday playback: Use familiar tracks, podcasts and video on your normal phone. Listen for channel imbalance, dropouts, harshness and lip-sync. These observations are personal, not a laboratory ranking, but they reveal whether the pair suits you.
- Calls: Make a call indoors and outside with moderate background noise. Ask the other person whether your voice is clear. AI-ENx processing can help microphone pickup, but it cannot guarantee clarity in every environment.
- Battery behavior: Note the starting percentage, volume and whether you use BEAST Mode. Compare your measured session with the “up to” claim without expecting the maximum figure under different settings.
- Wireless switching: On the 221, test the documented Multipoint behavior with two devices. On the 222 or 224, do not assume the same behavior unless the current documentation confirms it.
- Controls and charging: Confirm both buds charge in the case, the USB Type-C connection is stable where applicable, and the case reaches a full charge within the stated 100-minute claim under normal conditions.
What the available evidence cannot tell you
- There is no controlled three-way measurement establishing a sound-quality, comfort, call-quality or endurance winner.
- The playback figures are manufacturer claims; “up to 60 hours” should not be read as a guaranteed runtime for every volume, codec, call pattern or device.
- The observed prices are time-sensitive and region-sensitive. They should be refreshed before publication and again before purchase.
- The 224 microphone count is contradictory within its own official page: two in the specification table versus four in the FAQ and descriptive copy.
- The supplied material does not establish Spatial Audio for the 221 or Multipoint for the 222 and 224. Absence from the supplied specification is not proof that a feature can never be added; it is a reason to verify the current documentation.
- No named independent market statistic or study establishes which of these three is the most popular or best value.
Bottom line
For most buyers, start with the current, verified deal rather than assuming the model number represents a performance tier. Pick the 221 if its documented Multipoint and lower price fit your routine, the 222 if you specifically want Spatial Audio and its price is competitive, and the 224 only when its current listing offers a clear advantage after you resolve the microphone-count contradiction. None should be purchased for ANC on the evidence available, and the shared 60-hour, 13 mm, Bluetooth 6.0 and 55 ms figures do not prove one model is better in sound, comfort or real battery life.
