Choose Bluey’s Happy Snaps if taking photos, exploring Brisbane-inspired locations, and making a scrapbook sound more appealing—and you’re happy to wait for its announced October 15, 2026 release. As of October 13, 2026, Happy Snaps had not launched, so there is no hands-on basis for declaring it the better game.

What kind of play do you want?
Choose The Videogame for minigames and shared play
Bluey: The Videogame is the more suitable pick if you want a set of interactive adventures and activities rather than a camera-centered game. The publisher describes settings including the Heeler home, the Creek, playgrounds, and the beach, as well as minigames such as “Keepy Uppy,” “Ground is Lava,” “Magic Xylophone,” and “Chattermax Chase.” Its publisher says up to four people can play locally. The current official game page also describes solo and co-op play and notes a free update with easier navigation and minigame changes, so the launch announcement should not be treated as a complete description of the current build.

Choose Happy Snaps for photos and scrapbook-making
Bluey’s Happy Snaps puts photography and collecting at the center. In the official announcement, Bluey and Bingo find Dad’s old camera and explore the family home and Brisbane locations. Named destinations include the ferry to The Park, South Bank, and the lookout from “The Sign”; the announcement also mentions lorikeets and koalas. The official overview says players can collect “hundreds of stickers and decorations” and that a second player can join. Those are announced features, not observations from released gameplay. See the Bluey announcement and official game overview.
Which is better for playing together?
If your household specifically wants to play with three other people locally, The Videogame is the clear choice on the published information: its publisher states support for up to four local players. Happy Snaps is described as allowing a second player to join, but the official material reviewed does not establish support beyond two players. Do not assume the games offer the same group size.

Will they work on your system?
The announced platform lists overlap across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and PC. Happy Snaps also lists Nintendo Switch 2. Check the exact platform storefront before buying, particularly if you are choosing the upcoming game for a specific console. Physical copies of Happy Snaps are planned only for selected console platforms and select markets; a physical release announcement does not guarantee local stock. For The Videogame, the publisher confirmed a console release, but current availability depends on retailer, edition, and location.
What about online play and in-game purchases?
The official Nintendo listing for Happy Snaps says it has no in-game purchases and no online play. The official sources reviewed do not establish equivalent current details for The Videogame, so those features should not be assumed to match. Nintendo’s listing

Not fairly from the available official information. Prices and stock also vary by platform, territory, edition, and retailer; check the relevant storefront for the current offer rather than relying on a general comparison.
