Bluehost Reseller Hosting: Why It Isn’t Offered and What to Choose Instead

No—Bluehost does not currently present a dedicated, in-house reseller hosting plan. Its website has a “Reseller Hosting” footer link, but the linked /products/reseller destination redirected to the Bluehost homepage when checked. A HostAdvice review updated July 30, 2026, says Bluehost ended its own shared reseller program in 2014 and now directs interested customers to ResellerClub. Because that referral was not confirmed on a live Bluehost reseller page, treat ResellerClub as a lead to verify, not as a guaranteed Bluehost offering.

If you need to sell hosting under your own brand, choose a provider that explicitly supplies separate client accounts, reseller control tools, white-label features and billing automation. A Bluehost VPS or dedicated server can be configured to host multiple sites, but it is not automatically equivalent to a reseller plan.

Does Bluehost offer reseller hosting?

Not as a currently documented Bluehost product. The strongest public evidence points to three facts:

One-click scans. No signup required.

  • Bluehost’s site displays a “Reseller Hosting” item in its footer, but the linked /products/reseller address redirected to the general homepage during the latest check.
  • Walter Akolo, identified as a Hosting Expert in a HostAdvice review updated July 30, 2026, wrote: “No, Bluehost does not offer its own reseller hosting plans.” This is an expert-review statement, not a quotation from Bluehost.
  • The same HostAdvice review says Bluehost stopped its own shared reseller program in 2014 and directs prospective resellers to ResellerClub. The redirecting official page does not independently confirm that route, so verify it with Bluehost before relying on it.

That distinction matters. A normal shared, VPS or dedicated account gives you server space for sites you operate. Reseller hosting is a packaged business service designed for selling accounts to other people. The provider normally supplies the account-management, branding and provisioning layer that would otherwise be your responsibility.

What is reseller hosting, and what should a real plan include?

Reseller hosting lets you buy a pool of hosting resources and divide it into independently managed customer accounts. You can then charge your own clients, present the service under your brand and administer accounts without giving every customer access to the parent host’s account.

Separate client accounts

Look for the ability to create and suspend individual cPanel or equivalent accounts, assign quotas and isolate customers. “Unlimited websites” on a marketing page is not the same as a stated number of separately manageable accounts. Ask how CPU, RAM, inode, database and email limits apply per account and across the whole reseller package.

WHM or an equivalent administrator panel

WHM (WebHost Manager) is commonly used to create packages, provision accounts, set quotas, manage DNS and suspend or restore customers. A plan that only gives you one ordinary control panel login does not provide the same workflow.

White-label identity

Private nameservers, branded login pages, customizable DNS records and removal of the upstream host’s branding allow customers to see your business rather than the infrastructure provider. Confirm exactly which elements can be branded; some plans offer private nameservers but leave support links or system emails branded by the host.

Billing and automatic provisioning

WHMCS or Blesta can connect payments, invoices, account creation, suspension and renewals. Check whether the software is included, limited to a certain tier, compatible but sold separately, or absent. A low hosting price can become expensive when billing software is an additional subscription.

Reseller-aware support

You need support for account-level issues, migrations, DNS and abuse complaints, not only help with your own website. Ask whether the provider handles white-label support boundaries and what happens when one customer’s traffic or abuse report affects the whole reseller account.

Can I use Bluehost VPS for reselling hosting?

You can technically place multiple client websites on a Bluehost VPS or dedicated server, but that is self-managed hosting rather than a ready-made reseller product. HostAdvice reports that Bluehost VPS and dedicated plans do not include WHM by default and do not come with the usual white-label branding and reseller billing package.

What you would have to supply

  • A control layer such as WHM, where licensing and compatibility must be confirmed separately.
  • A billing system, payment gateway, tax handling and automated provisioning or a manual replacement for those functions.
  • Private nameservers, branded system emails, customer documentation and support procedures.
  • Security hardening, backups, monitoring, patching and abuse response appropriate to every hosted account.
  • Resource policies that prevent one customer from exhausting CPU, memory, storage, mail queues or database connections.

Do not assume that buying a larger server grants permission to create unlimited commercial accounts. Confirm the plan’s licensing, acceptable-use rules, control-panel access and account limits with Bluehost before selling access. Also confirm whether backups, migrations, snapshots and technical support cover your customers or only your primary account.

When a VPS approach can make sense

A VPS can be reasonable when you already administer Linux servers, need custom software or want complete control over the stack. It is usually a poor first choice for a small agency that wants to launch branded hosting quickly: you become responsible for the operational work that a reseller plan bundles.

What’s better than Bluehost for reseller hosting?

The following providers appeared in a HostAdvice comparison available in 2026. Treat the figures as time-specific starting prices and comparison leads, not guaranteed checkout offers. Renewal rates, taxes, data-center location, term length and included software can change.

Provider and listed offer Reported details Question to verify before buying
Verpex Start-Up Reseller $1.80 per month on a 36-month promotional term; WHMCS listed as not included and purchased separately. What is the renewal price, and does the separate WHMCS subscription erase the introductory saving?
ChemiCloud Kickstart $19.95 per month listed starting price; billing software described as bundled; bandwidth is metered. Is the included automation worth the higher entry price, and is the bandwidth allowance enough for your customers?
NameHero Silver NVMe $17.90 per month on a three-year promotional term; WHMCS or Blesta appears on some plan tiers; bandwidth is metered. Which exact tier includes the software you need, and what storage, CPU and account limits apply?
Hosting.com Starter $25.50 per month on a one-year term; WHMCS described as included across the listed plans; bandwidth is metered. Do the bundled tools and support justify the higher listed starting price and the renewal rate?

These are not independent performance rankings. They are a shortlist for checking reseller mechanics and total cost. Before placing an order, open the provider’s current plan and checkout pages, record the renewal amount and confirm the resource limits in writing.

Does Bluehost have reseller hosting plans?

There is no currently verified Bluehost reseller plan to select from. The visible footer link and the redirect create a naming problem: a navigation label can remain after a product is retired or moved. Until Bluehost publishes a functioning plan page with current specifications, do not treat that label as proof of availability.

Bluehost does operate an affiliate program for ordinary Bluehost hosting. Its affiliate page, accessed October 13, 2026, advertises commissions of “$65 or more per qualified sale” and a “30-day cookie window.” Those figures describe referral compensation, not reseller hosting, and an affiliate sends customers to Bluehost rather than selling hosting accounts under your own brand.

How to compare a reseller provider properly

Use the checklist below while comparing plans. Record the answer for each provider instead of relying on a headline account count.

1. Map your customer model

Decide whether each client needs a separate control-panel login, isolated email and databases, individual backups and the ability to leave you later. If you only maintain sites for clients inside one agency account, a managed multi-site plan may be sufficient; if clients buy hosting from you, you need true account-level reselling.

2. Confirm the account and resource limits

  • Maximum cPanel or equivalent accounts and domains.
  • Storage type and quota, database count and inode allowance.
  • CPU, RAM, entry processes and PHP-worker limits.
  • Bandwidth policy: metered, capped or described as unmetered under fair-use rules.
  • Email mailbox, outbound-mail and cron-job limits.

3. Verify branding controls

Ask whether private nameservers use your domain, whether the control panel can display your logo and company name, and whether system emails, error pages and support links reveal the upstream provider. Request screenshots or documentation if the sales page is vague.

4. Price the complete stack

Calculate the promotional term, renewal price, setup fees, domain or nameserver costs, control-panel licenses, WHMCS or Blesta, backups, dedicated IPs and taxes. A $1.80 monthly introductory figure over 36 months is not comparable with a $25.50 figure on a one-year term until you normalize the commitment and renewal periods.

5. Test support and migration promises

Find out whether migrations include databases, mailboxes, DNS records, SSL certificates and scheduled jobs. Ask if the migration is free once or available for every account. Confirm support hours, emergency escalation and whether support will communicate with your customer without exposing your upstream relationship.

How to move from Bluehost to a reseller platform

If your sites currently run on Bluehost, plan the change as an account migration rather than a simple DNS switch.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Inventory every site. Record domains, document roots, databases, PHP versions, cron jobs, mailboxes, SSL certificates, DNS records and current disk usage.
  2. Select a package by measured usage. Compare your inventory with per-account CPU, memory, storage, inode and email limits; leave headroom for traffic growth.
  3. Build the reseller structure first. Create your packages, private nameservers, branding, customer accounts and billing rules before changing DNS.
  4. Copy data and test on the destination. Import files and databases, recreate mailboxes, verify credentials, test forms and payment callbacks, and check scheduled tasks.
  5. Reduce DNS TTL ahead of the cutover. Lower the relevant records before switching so resolvers refresh more quickly, while recognizing that cached records can persist.
  6. Change DNS and monitor. Watch web responses, mail delivery, SSL status, logs and resource graphs. Keep the Bluehost copy available until traffic and mail have stabilized.
  7. Close only after verification. Export a final backup, confirm all customers can log in and receive mail, then cancel the old service in line with its refund and billing terms.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them

  • Confusing an agency plan with reselling: managing many sites for your own clients is different from issuing customers their own hosting accounts and invoices.
  • Choosing on introductory price alone: compare renewal cost, term commitment and paid billing software before calculating margin.
  • Assuming “unlimited” means unlimited performance: read CPU, inode, process and fair-use clauses.
  • Ignoring email: web files may migrate successfully while mailboxes, DKIM, SPF, DMARC or mailbox quotas remain misconfigured.
  • Skipping an exit plan: verify backups, export formats and domain-control procedures so you can move customers without the provider.
  • Promising support you cannot deliver: define uptime, backup retention, response times and abuse rules in your customer agreement.

Bottom line for a Bluehost reseller decision

Bluehost does not currently show a dedicated in-house reseller hosting plan, and its reseller URL redirected to the homepage when checked. HostAdvice’s report of a ResellerClub referral may point to an alternative route, but it is not confirmed by a functioning official Bluehost page. A Bluehost VPS or dedicated server can host multiple sites only with additional control-panel, billing, branding and operational work. For a business selling hosting, start with a provider that explicitly includes separate client accounts, white-label controls and the billing automation you need, then verify renewal pricing and resource limits before committing.
