Room size is the first buying decision
Blueair recommends the T10i for approximately 16 m² (175 sq ft). That is roughly the scale of a bedroom, study, nursery or compact living room, not a large open-plan floor. Measure the room the appliance will actually serve rather than relying on the total floor area of your home. An open doorway, high ceiling or connected hallway increases the air volume and can reduce how quickly a purifier changes the air.

Blueair lists the T20i separately for spaces up to 352 sq ft. If your room is close to or above the T10i limit, compare that larger sibling instead of assuming the smaller unit will deliver the same cleaning rate. Two rooms also require two airflow paths: placing one T10i in a bedroom will not give the same result in a distant living room.
- Good fit: a closed room around 175 sq ft where you want filtration plus occasional heating or air circulation.
- Borderline fit: a room near the upper limit, a space with high ceilings, or a room that opens directly into other areas.
- Poor fit: a large lounge, whole apartment or multi-room floor where one compact appliance cannot circulate enough air.
How the three modes work
Air purification
The purifier draws room air through its filter system and returns treated air. Blueair publishes CADR values of 132 cfm for pollen, 129 cfm for dust and 113 cfm for smoke. Fan mode
Fan mode circulates air and can make a person feel cooler by increasing evaporation from the skin. It does not lower the room’s actual temperature like an air conditioner. A reviewer at TechRadar reported that the fan was useful in hot conditions; that is an observation from one review, not a universal performance guarantee. Use it when you want airflow without adding heat, and keep realistic expectations during a heatwave.
Heater mode
The integrated heater supplies local warmth. TechRadar’s reviewer reported warm air and improved comfort in smaller spaces, while also noting that the appliance cannot replace a full central-heating system. Treat it as supplemental heat for a desk, bedroom or similar area. The electricity cost depends on the heater’s power draw, your tariff and how long it runs; the supplied specifications do not establish a wattage or an operating-cost figure, so a precise cost estimate would be misleading.

What the purification claims mean
Blueair advertises removal of 99.97% of airborne particles. Keep the qualification attached to that number: it is a manufacturer claim from the product page under the test conditions described there. It is not an independent population study, and it does not mean every room will instantly become 99.97% cleaner. Real results depend on room volume, fan setting, filter condition, pollutant source and how much outdoor air enters the room.
CADR values are more useful for sizing than the headline percentage alone. Smoke has the lowest listed rate at 113 cfm, followed by dust at 129 cfm and pollen at 132 cfm. Run the unit continuously at an appropriate setting when dealing with a persistent source, and keep doors and windows closed when you need the purifier to work on a defined room volume.
Controls, scheduling and the app
The reviewed materials describe controls for fan settings, schedules and filter-life monitoring. Scheduling can be useful if you want filtration before bedtime or heat during a morning routine, while filter-life monitoring helps you plan maintenance instead of guessing when performance may have declined.

Safety and regional differences
Official materials describe anti-tip protection and an overheating shutoff. Those safeguards are particularly relevant because the T10i combines airflow and electric heat in a single device. Place it on a stable, level surface, keep air inlets and outlets clear, and follow the clearance and electrical instructions in the manual for your country.
Blueair Japan reports 350-degree oscillation. Electrical specifications, controls and even the feature set can vary by regional model, so verify the local product page and manual rather than importing assumptions from another market. The Japanese announcement dated January 31, 2025, is evidence of that market’s launch timing; it does not establish availability or specifications everywhere else.
Ownership costs: price, power and filters
Purchase price
The US Blueair page listed the T10i at $499.99 when accessed in 2026. TechRadar recorded launch pricing of $499.99 in the US and £399 in the UK during summer 2025. Launch figures are historical, and current prices, stock and regional taxes can differ, so use your local listing for a buying decision.
Electricity
Purification and fan operation generally use less electricity than active heating, but the supplied materials do not provide a verified wattage for each mode. Your running cost therefore cannot be calculated responsibly from the published figures alone. To estimate it, multiply the local electricity rate by the appliance’s measured kilowatt draw and hours of operation; use the rating label or manual for the draw rather than an internet estimate.

Replacement filters
Filter-life monitoring is supported, but a replacement-filter price or universally compatible part number is not established here. Common problems and practical fixes
The room still feels warm
Fan mode is not air conditioning. Close blinds during direct sun, reduce heat sources and ventilate when outdoor conditions are cooler. The T10i can move air across your skin, but it cannot remove heat from the room.

The purifier seems ineffective
Recheck room size, filter installation and blocked inlets. Keep doors and windows closed during a cleaning cycle and allow time for multiple air changes. A room larger than 175 sq ft may require the T20i or another larger-capacity arrangement.
Heating is insufficient
