The BLU Vivo XL5 is the better-documented phone: BLU lists a 6.3-inch display, 13MP selfie camera and non-removable 4,000mAh battery. The VIVO X6 is described mainly by secondary listings, which report a smaller 6.1-inch screen and disagree on its front-camera resolution. Both are reported with 3GB RAM, 64GB storage, a 13MP+2MP rear-camera setup and Android 9, but the X6 details should be treated as provisional until the exact device is verified.

Which phone has the larger screen?
The XL5 has the larger listed display at 6.3 inches, compared with the X6’s reported 6.1 inches. BLU specifies the XL5 at 720 × 1520 and 267 ppi. X6 listings are inconsistent about the pixel dimensions: one gives 720 × 1520 and another 720 × 1500. These are budget-class HD displays; the figures alone do not establish real-world brightness, color or viewing quality.

Both phones are reported to have a 13MP main rear camera and a 2MP depth sensor. BLU specifies a 13MP front camera with flash for the XL5. X6 sources disagree: PhoneDady reports 5MP, while reproduced listing text says 13MP. Do not assume the X6 has a 13MP selfie camera without checking the exact unit’s packaging, manual or camera information.

Battery and expandable storage
The XL5 has a non-removable 4,000mAh Li-Polymer battery, while a secondary X6 comparison describes a removable 4,000mAh Li-Ion battery. Battery capacity and chemistry do not establish which phone lasts longer in everyday use; no comparable independent endurance testing is available here.
Storage expansion is another reported difference. BLU lists microSD support up to 64GB for the XL5. The X6 is described by a secondary source as supporting up to 128GB, with the card occupying SIM 2, but that specification should be verified on the exact model before purchase.

Processor, memory and everyday performance
Both phones are listed with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. For the XL5, BLU specifies a 1.6GHz octa-core ARM Cortex-A55 processor and IMG 8322 GPU. A secondary comparison identifies the X6 processor as a Unisoc/Spreadtrum SC9863A octa-core Cortex-A55 with mixed clock speeds. These specifications do not show which phone is faster in real use, and no hands-on performance comparison is available.
Software, security and app support
Android 9.0 Pie is the launch-listed operating system for both models. BLU’s 2019 announcement promised two years of Android security updates for the X5 and XL5; available information does not establish whether updates were delivered throughout that period or what patch level either phone has now. The X6’s inclusion in that promise is not established. Before using either as a daily phone, check the installed security patch date and whether the apps you rely on still support the device.

Cellular compatibility depends on the exact variant
BLU lists the XL5’s 3G bands as 850/1700/1900 and LTE bands as 2/4/5/12/17. The available X6 band listing is truncated, and regional variants can differ. These details are not enough to recommend either phone for a particular carrier. Confirm the exact model number and complete band support with the seller and carrier before buying.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the XL5 if documented specifications matter most. BLU’s materials confirm its display, cameras, battery design, storage expansion and listed bands.
- Consider the X6 only after verifying the unit. Its reported 6.1-inch display, removable battery and larger microSD limit may appeal, but its front-camera resolution and several other specifications are not confirmed by BLU material located for this comparison.
- Do not choose based on presumed speed or battery life. The listed specifications do not provide a reliable real-world winner.
What to check before buying an older BLU phone
- Match the identity: ask for a photo of the device’s model label and confirm it says VIVO X6 or Vivo XL5, rather than assuming X5 and X6 are interchangeable.
- Verify the variant: obtain the full model number and complete cellular-band list, then compare it with your carrier’s requirements.
- Check the actual condition: inspect the screen, charging port, buttons, cameras and battery behavior. For a used or refurbished unit, ask about battery condition and return coverage.
- Confirm storage and camera details on the specific X6: seller listings conflict on the front camera, and microSD capacity and SIM-slot behavior should be checked on the phone or its documentation.
- Check software before relying on it: inspect the installed Android version, security patch date and compatibility with essential apps.
- Compare the total price and protections: marketplace references do not establish current stock, condition, seller reliability or a fair current price. Review the specific listing and return terms.
Launch history and price context
BLU announced the VIVO X5 and XL5 on September 4, 2019. The announcement listed a historical XL5 launch price of $129.99 and a limited-time $20 discount; these are not current prices. A secondary PhoneDady database lists the X6 release date as February 2020, but an official BLU X6 launch announcement was not located. Marketplace pages establish that X6 listings have existed, not that a particular unit is currently available or reliable.
