What the Bloodborne path-tracing footage shows
In a report published by Wccftech on October 8, 2026, YouTuber gabdeg describes the work as an early proof of concept for bringing RTX Remix path tracing to Bloodborne. The reported approach converts static geometry into RTX Remix’s native format and streams dynamic geometry from the game while it runs in shadPS4.

The report describes the lighting as transformative in some scenes, but also says the implementation remains rough, particularly in parts of Central Yharnam. That is an assessment of the footage, not evidence that a finished version will deliver consistent results throughout the game.

No public release or playable build is established by the report. Gabdeg explicitly cautions: “This is not a project announcement, and if it ever turns into something releasable, it wouldn’t be out for a long time as there are still many issues that would need fixing.” There is no confirmed release date or commitment to complete the work.

The footage should therefore be treated as a technical demonstration, not a download announcement. It also does not establish a supported GPU, performance level, or hardware requirement for the experiment.
How shadPS4 fits in—and what it does not mean
The experiment is shown in the context of playing Bloodborne on PC through shadPS4, a PlayStation 4 emulator. That does not make it an official PC edition. The Wccftech report mentions a PC runtime context but does not establish an official port or that the path-tracing proof of concept is ready for general use.

Other community projects are separate and their specifications should not be applied to this experiment:
bbportdocuments an experimental native Linux runtime for the PlayStation 4 game executable, ID CUSA03173, version 1.09. It requires a user’s own decrypted game dump and says game files are not included. Its author says a full play-through has not been verified; the repository’s reported testing on an AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT applies tobbport, not RTX Remix path tracing.- BB Reborne DIY is a separate Windows visual-overhaul tool. Its documentation lists its own prerequisites, including a legally obtained v1.09 dump, shadPS4 v0.15.1 or newer, 100 GB of free disk space, and a modern GPU capable of running AI upscaling tools. These are not requirements for the path-tracing proof of concept.
What remains unknown
The available report does not provide a benchmark, named GPU requirement, performance result, or verified build for public use. It also does not establish how consistently the lighting works across the game or whether the altered look preserves the original’s dark composition and mood.

That last point is a matter of taste in the footage discussed: comments on the Reddit discussion include both praise for the lighting and concern that it changes the game’s atmosphere. Individual comments are reactions, not a measure of community consensus.
