Rebel Wolves’ verified developer account announced on October 16, 2026 that Update 1.1 is “planned for next week.” The post does not identify a specific day, time, rollout region, download size, or platform-by-platform schedule. A complete, line-by-line set of patch notes was not available with the announcement. The feature list below therefore describes what the developer has confirmed, while the exact behavior of individual fixes may be clearer when the final notes publish.
#1 Best Overall
- Day 1 Edition includes the Base Game Disc, Steelbook, and World Map.
- Make The Story Your Own - Experience and shape the plot the way you want. Embark on the quest to save your family, or swear revenge on your sire and destroy everyone standing in your way. Discover ancient secrets lurking in the valley. Rush in head first or risk taking time to prepare. Go alone or search for friends and forge unlikely alliances.
- Day And Night - Experience two different gameplay loops, offering distinct abilities to choose from, mysteries to uncover, and varying ways to achieve your goals. Experiment with different approaches and discover how the world reacts to your actions.
- Every Action Matters - Every action - and inaction - shapes the world around you. Your family’s days are numbered, and every time you take on a quest, time moves forward, compelling you closer to the end. Choose carefully whom to help and whom to leave behind. You will not have time for everyone. The world waits for no one. And neither does the villain.

Respec skills with the Draught of Mind Rebirth
The Draught of Mind Rebirth is the most consequential system change in the announcement. It lets players redistribute skill points, making it possible to alter a character build without starting a new playthrough. That should help players adapt their abilities as they learn the game, correct an early investment, or experiment with a different approach to combat and exploration.
The announcement confirms the respec function, but does not state how the draught is obtained, whether it is consumable, whether there is a limit, or whether any cost or story requirement applies. Those details should be checked in the final patch notes or in-game description after release.
Rank #2
- Make the story your own - Experience and design the plot the way you want it. Set out to save your family, or swear revenge on your Creator and destroy all who stand in your way. Discover ancient secrets lurking in the valley. Plunge into the action or take time to prepare. Go alone or find friends and forge unlikely alliances.
- Day and Night - Experience two different gameplay loops with different abilities to choose from, secrets to uncover, and different ways to achieve your goals. Experiment with different approaches and discover how the world reacts to your actions.
- Every action counts - every action - and every inaction - shapes the world around you. Your family's days are numbered, and every time you take a quest, time progresses and brings you closer to the end. Choose carefully who you help and who you leave behind. You won't have time for all. The world is waiting for no one. And neither does evil.
- Sword, claws and anger - Defy gravity, become a brutal force of nature and use your supernatural abilities as a vampire. Or raise your sword and use powerful magic to take on your opponents as a human being. Experiment and adapt as your shape changes throughout the day and night; each has its own strengths and weaknesses.
- Open world full of adventure - venture through the handmade open world and discover everything it has to offer. Stroll through the lush forests, the vast plains, the treacherous swamps and explore the steep mountain peaks and medieval settlements. Explore forgotten ruins, find remains of an ancient civilization, and uncover a truth that might have preferred to remain hidden.
More subtitle and font-size controls
Update 1.1 adds subtitle settings and larger font-size controls aimed at accessibility and readability. Rebel Wolves has not listed every option, such as color, speaker labels, background opacity, or the maximum size, so the announcement should not be read as a complete settings specification. Players who struggle with small dialogue or interface text should look for the expanded options in the game’s accessibility or display menus after updating.

Traversal and directional movement
The patch refines movement and directional changes. This wording points to handling improvements rather than a new traversal system: turning, changing direction and general locomotion should be adjusted, but no new movement ability or map feature has been announced.

Targeting, camera control and disengaging from combat
Combat usability work covers targeting and the camera, two systems that directly affect how reliably players can read and control an encounter. Update 1.1 also adds the ability to disengage from enemies, giving players a deliberate way to leave a fight instead of remaining locked into an encounter. The announcement does not specify the input, distance required, cooldown, or restrictions on disengaging.
Directional animal petting
Animals can be petted with direction-sensitive interaction in the update. This is a small world-interaction addition rather than a new companion or animal gameplay system; no further animal mechanics were announced.

- Mediterranean Horror: Explore the forsaken capital of an awe-inspiring archipelago. Do not let yourself be fooled by the gentle sea breeze, the Mediterranean vistas or the comforting summer sun. Since the Devil's Fevers pandemic ravaged the city, it was abandoned, and now only horrific nightmares await there.
- Survive your Nemesis: Someone is relentlessly hunting you. Suffer and agonize while you try to run away from the encounters with this strange stalker obsessed with you.
- Intense Challenges: Solve environmental riddles, physics puzzles and other similar challenges in an interconnected vertical world. Even while being chased and hunted.
- Accessibility and Photomode: Tweak more than 20 Accessibility settings to create a tailored experience for you. Use the Photomode to make perfect shots and unlock many secrets using it.
Is New Game Plus included?
New Game Plus is not confirmed for Update 1.1. The announcement thread distinguishes New Game Plus from this patch, and it is absent from the listed features. Players should not expect an NG+ mode to arrive as part of the update unless Rebel Wolves publishes a separate confirmation.
What the 1,100-plus fixes claim does—and does not—tell us
Rebel Wolves says the patch contains more than 1,100 other improvements and fixes in addition to the named features. That is a count supplied by the developer, not an independently audited bug total. The announcement does not break the number down by platform, category or severity, so it cannot be used to predict a particular performance gain or resolution for an individual bug.
Best Value
Platforms and whether the update matters to buyers
Bandai Namco lists The Blood of Dawnwalker for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Xbox describes it as an open-world dark-fantasy action RPG set in 14th-century Europe, where Coen is human by day and a vampire by night and player actions shape the story.
For someone deciding whether to buy or return to the game, the practical value of Update 1.1 is concentrated in flexibility and control: the respec system reduces the risk of an unwanted build, larger text and subtitle options improve readability, and the movement, camera, targeting and disengagement changes address moment-to-moment usability. The patch is not, based on the announcement, a New Game Plus expansion or a new story chapter. The direct product is the game itself, sold for the listed platforms; no new edition or separate Update 1.1 purchase has been announced.
What remains unknown before launch
- The exact release day and time.
- Whether the update launches simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
- The download size and whether maintenance downtime is required.
- How the Draught of Mind Rebirth is earned or limited.
- The full list of subtitle, font-size, camera and targeting options.
- The detailed breakdown of the more than 1,100 additional fixes.
Until those details are published, the October 16 announcement is best treated as a feature preview. The confirmed expectation is a broad quality-of-life patch arriving sometime the following week, not a dated release commitment or an NG+ launch.
