You play Coen, human by day and vampire by night; the publisher says your choices and discoveries shape his effort to save his family.

Official Blood of Dawnwalker PC requirements
Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe’s 2026 requirements list the same operating-system, memory and storage entries for both tiers. The meaningful difference is the processor and graphics-card class.

The figures are developer targets, not benchmark results. The table does not specify a resolution, graphics preset, ray-tracing mode or guaranteed frame rate. No reproducible launch benchmark covering every listed card, resolution and preset is available in the cited material, so a machine that qualifies should not be promised 60 frames per second.

How to read the minimum and recommended tiers
When your PC matches the minimum line
A system around the GTX 1060 or RX 580 graphics class, paired with one of the listed processors, is inside the published compatibility range. That means the game is designed to start on that class of hardware under the developer’s intended conditions. It does not establish which visual preset will feel smooth on your particular card, nor does it account for background applications, laptop power limits, thermal throttling or a slower processor variant.
When your PC matches the recommended line
A system near the RTX 4060, RX 7600 XT or Arc B580 class, with a processor comparable to the listed Core i7 or Ryzen 7, is in the publisher’s recommended class. This is the more appropriate target if you want headroom for an open world, higher image quality or heavier scenes. It still is not a measured performance guarantee because the requirements page does not attach a frame-rate target to the recommendation.
When your PC falls between the two
Many gaming PCs will have a mixed specification: a recommended-class GPU but an older CPU, or a modern CPU paired with a card near the minimum. Judge the four axes separately rather than letting one strong component hide a weak one. The slowest major component can determine streaming, traversal and frame-time consistency, while the GPU usually controls image quality and rendering load.

When your PC is below minimum
A graphics card below the GTX 1060/RX 580 class is outside the published minimum. The same caution applies to a processor materially below the listed Core i5-11400F or Ryzen 7 2700X class, insufficient system memory, a non-SSD installation or an operating-system/API configuration that does not provide Windows 10 and DirectX 12. The game may run in some unsupported combinations, but the publisher gives no target for them.
Check your own PC before installing
Use Windows’ built-in tools to record the exact model numbers. Do not rely on a shop listing that only says “gaming PC” or “8-core processor”; the model suffix matters.
- Check the processor and installed memory. Open Settings > System > About. Record the full processor name and the installed RAM. You can also press
Ctrl+Shift+Esc, open Task Manager > Performance, and select CPU and Memory for the model and capacity. - Check the graphics card. In Task Manager, select Performance > GPU and note the model. For a second confirmation, press
Win+R, enterdxdiag, choose the Display tab and record the device name. Integrated graphics should not be treated as equivalent to a GTX 1060 or RX 580 merely because the computer is new. - Check the operating system and DirectX. In Settings > System > About, verify the Windows edition and version. In
dxdiag, the System tab shows the DirectX version. The published table names Windows 10 and DirectX 12; it does not provide a separate Windows 11 qualification, so confirm the final support position if your installation differs. - Check the installation drive. Open File Explorer > This PC and identify whether the destination is an SSD. The requirement is expressed as SSD storage, not simply any drive with enough capacity. Leave additional free space for patches, shader caches and Windows operations instead of filling the drive to its last few gigabytes.
- Compare each model, not just the brand family. A GTX 1060 3GB and a GTX 1060 6GB share a name but do not have identical memory capacity. Laptop GPUs can also use lower power limits than desktop versions. The official table does not state a VRAM minimum, so record the exact card and treat model-specific testing as more reliable than a generic series label.
CPU, GPU and memory decisions
CPU generation and platform
The minimum processors are from different product families, so core count alone is not a useful comparison. Check the exact generation, clock behavior, cooling and whether the machine is a laptop. A desktop Core i5-11400F and a mobile processor with a similar name can behave differently under sustained load. If your GPU is in the recommended class but the CPU is near or below minimum, expect the processor to be the likely limit in busy settlements or during world streaming.

Graphics-card class
The minimum examples are older cards without the RTX branding, while the recommended examples are newer architectures. That change signals more than a simple naming step: newer cards generally offer stronger shader throughput, media features and upscaling support. Do not infer an exact performance percentage from the names. Compare independent tests only when they use the same game version, resolution, preset and upscaling mode.

The requirements table gives GPU models but no video-memory capacity. Check your card’s specification and avoid assuming that every variant of a model has the same amount. If the game reports texture-streaming warnings, lower texture quality first and close other GPU-accelerated applications. Those are practical mitigations, not publisher guarantees.
System memory
Both configurations list the same memory capacity. Check whether your computer actually has that amount available after hardware reservations and whether it is operating in a normal dual-channel configuration. Close browsers, launchers, recording tools and virtual machines before diagnosing a borderline system. Adding memory can reduce paging, but it cannot compensate for a graphics card below the minimum class.

SSD, Windows and DirectX details
The storage requirement specifically calls for an SSD. An SSD can reduce installation and loading delays compared with a hard disk, but it does not turn a below-minimum GPU into a supported one. Install to a healthy internal SSD when possible, keep its firmware and chipset drivers current, and avoid starting the game while the drive is nearly full.
The listed operating-system target is Windows 10 with DirectX 12. Ensure Windows has completed pending updates, then install the latest stable graphics driver supplied for your exact GPU. If dxdiag reports an older DirectX runtime, update Windows rather than downloading unofficial DLL files. Reboot after driver or system updates before judging performance.

PC Gamer reported that the PC version supports DLSS and FSR upscalers and that the final requirements presentation used Balanced upscaling. Upscaling renders internally at a lower resolution and reconstructs the output, so the same hardware can behave differently with native rendering, Balanced mode or another preset. It can improve frame time, but it may alter sharpness, fine detail and motion artifacts.

For a fair comparison, record the display resolution, quality preset, upscaler name and mode, frame-generation setting if present, and whether ray tracing is enabled. Do not compare a native-rendered result with a Balanced-upscaled result as if they were equivalent. The requirements table does not say which setting is intended for the minimum tier, so start conservatively and raise image quality only after checking frame-time stability.
Upgrade paths that make sense

Prices, compatibility and upgrade difficulty vary by country and by the parts already in your computer. Check the motherboard socket, firmware support, power-supply connectors, physical card length and cooling before buying anything. A complete platform replacement can cost more than continuing on a qualifying console, so compare the total upgrade rather than the price of one component.
Troubleshoot common launch problems
The game will not start
- Confirm the game is installed on an SSD and that Windows reports DirectX 12.
- Repair or verify the installation through the store client.
- Install the current driver for the exact GPU model and restart the PC.
- Remove unsupported launch parameters, overlays and injectors while testing.
- Check that security software has not quarantined a game file.
Crashes or shader-compilation stutter
- Let the first shader-building process finish without repeatedly restarting.
- Return overclocked CPU, GPU and memory settings to stock clocks.
- Monitor temperatures and clocks with a trusted hardware monitor; throttling can mimic a software fault.
- Reduce texture quality or use a supported upscaler before lowering every setting at once.
- Keep a note of the crash time, driver version and settings so a support report is reproducible.
Low or inconsistent frame rate
- Check GPU utilization and CPU utilization separately. High GPU utilization points toward resolution, quality or upscaling changes; a saturated CPU with low GPU utilization points toward processor or background-task limits.
- Use an on-screen frame-time graph rather than relying only on an average frame-rate counter.
- Test native rendering and the available upscaling modes separately, because they are different workloads.
- Close recording, browser and synchronization software, then retest the same scene.
Would the console versions be simpler?
The game is also available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A console avoids PC questions about processor models, driver versions, DirectX and storage interfaces, although you still need enough free console storage for the installation and updates. Choose that route if your PC is below the published minimum and a comparable PC upgrade would require replacing several parts. The available material does not establish a performance comparison between the console editions and a particular PC configuration.

They can tell you the hardware classes the developer selected for minimum and recommended targets, the required operating-system/API combination, and the installation medium. They cannot tell you an exact frame rate for your monitor, whether every laptop variant behaves like its desktop counterpart, how much VRAM a specific card needs, or which graphics preset the minimum tier uses. Treat your own model numbers and a repeatable in-game test as the final decision tools.
