Le 1er octobre 2026, Bruno Retailleau a proposé de faire interdire La France insoumise (LFI), accusant le parti d’appeler à la sédition et d’essayer d’organiser une insurrection. Jean-Luc Mélenchon a contesté que LFI ait organisé les blocages de lycées et a appelé les jeunes à recourir à des méthodes non violentes. Les déclarations établissent un affrontement politique ; elles ne prouvent pas que LFI ait organisé la mobilisation.
Que s’est-il passé entre Retailleau et Mélenchon ?
Le 1er octobre 2026, Bruno Retailleau, candidat des Républicains à la présidentielle, a réclamé l’interdiction de LFI. Il a déclaré : « On a un parti qui est fasciné par la violence, qui appelle à la sédition et même qui essaie d’organiser l’insurrection. » Cette formule est son accusation politique, et non un constat démontré par les éléments rapportés.
Mélenchon a répondu en ironisant sur l’idée que LFI aurait convoqué le mouvement « par télépathie » : « C’est le premier mouvement de masse convoqué par télépathie. » Il a aussi contesté qu’un insoumis ait appelé des lycéens à agir dans un établissement. Lors d’une conférence de presse le même jour, il a déclaré : « Nous appelons à des méthodes de lutte non violente. » Le Parisien a rapporté l’échange ; Franceinfo a rendu compte de son appel à la non-violence.
Les blocages avaient commencé avant l’escalade politique
La mobilisation ne débute pas avec les déclarations du 1er octobre. Le Monde rapporte des perturbations dans une soixantaine de lycées d’Île-de-France les 24 et 25 septembre 2026. Le 28 septembre, l’Union syndicale lycéenne (USL) a appelé à bloquer les lycées le lendemain.

Le même jour, Mélenchon a demandé aux élus et militants insoumis de s’interposer entre les élèves et les forces de l’ordre en cas d’intervention. Le Premier ministre Sébastien Lecornu a dénoncé les appels à étendre le mouvement, déclarant : « L’école de la République n’est pas un terrain de jeu partisan. » Le 29 septembre, Mélenchon a été photographié avec des élus LFI auprès de lycéens mobilisés. Ces faits documentent des prises de position et une présence politique, mais ne suffisent pas, à eux seuls, à établir que LFI a organisé les blocages.

- le manque de professeurs et d’autres personnels ;
- l’état dégradé de certains lycées ;
- des emplois du temps et des classes surchargés ;
- le stress lié à Parcoursup.
Ces motifs sont ceux mis en avant par les organisations lycéennes ; ils ne constituent pas la même chose que les accusations formulées par des responsables politiques sur l’organisation du mouvement.

LFI a-t-elle organisé les blocages dans tout le pays ?
Les éléments rapportés ne permettent pas de l’affirmer. Le gouvernement et des responsables de droite accusent LFI d’instrumentaliser ou d’organiser la mobilisation ; Mélenchon réfute ce lien tout en soutenant les revendications. Une note de renseignement concernant la Seine-Saint-Denis, rapportée par Le Monde, attribuait un rôle à l’extrême gauche, mais les éléments décrits semblaient aussi montrer une volonté de profiter d’un mouvement lycéen « particulièrement éclaté et spontané ». Une appréciation portant sur un département ne démontre pas qui aurait organisé une mobilisation dans tout le pays.
La distinction utile est donc entre quatre types d’informations : les accusations des responsables politiques, les revendications des organisations lycéennes, les observations localisées et les décomptes datés d’établissements. Elles n’ont ni le même périmètre ni la même valeur pour établir une responsabilité nationale.

Retailleau peut-il faire interdire LFI ?
Les comptes rendus disponibles établissent qu’il a proposé politiquement l’interdiction du parti. Ils ne documentent pas l’ouverture d’une procédure juridique ni le fondement juridique d’une telle mesure. Il ne faut donc pas présenter l’interdiction comme engagée ou comme une issue juridiquement établie.
