She uses Asuka, according to Dexerto’s February 23, 2026 report. Her account describes adapting to very limited vision by relying on practice, movement, safer offense and reads on opponents—not by reacting to every visual cue.
What rank did Guitarfoxx reach?
Guitarfoxx, who posts online as BlindGuitarFox, reported reaching Tekken God after roughly two and a half years of grinding. Dexerto identified Asuka as her main character and described Tekken God as one of TEKKEN 8’s highest ranks. The report also says Tekken God Supreme and Tekken God of Destruction are above it, so this is a major milestone, not the game’s single highest rank. Dexerto’s February 23, 2026 report supplies that rank context.

The phrase “from Beginner” is not established by the available account: neither Guitarfoxx’s post nor the report confirms her initial rank. Her stated two-and-a-half-year timeline describes her time playing, not a documented climb from a particular starting tier.
How does limited vision affect her play?
Guitarfoxx says she was born with glaucoma and lost her right eye during TEKKEN 8’s launch. She describes very limited, blurry tunnel vision in her left eye. In her own account, that makes it difficult to distinguish move strings, identify which hand an opponent uses for a throw, and judge her position relative to walls on some stages.

- Arcade Quest - In the new single-player mode ‘Arcade Quest’, players can create their own avatar and conquer their rivals in a variety of different arcades. This mode serves as an introduction to the gameplay of TEKKEN 8, allowing players to acquire basic knowledge, learn practical techniques, and enjoy a unique storyline and battles different from regular matches. .
She also explains that recognizing a move does not necessarily let her react to it in time. “I can only really punish if I get the read, as I can’t see well enough to react even when I know it,” she wrote. She says throw breaks are guesses: “Every throw break has to be a guess, I can’t see well enough to know what hand comes out first.” These are her descriptions of her own experience, not an independent clinical assessment. Her Reddit post is the primary source for those details.
What did she practice to climb the ranks?
Rather than presenting a single trick, Guitarfoxx describes working on several parts of her game and learning to make decisions with less reliance on visual reactions:
Rank #2
- Amazon Launch Edition includes Jin’s Jacket Controller Skin. Correct controller skin application will not affect controller functionality or performance. *While supplies last*
- Both new and returning characters (32) are stunningly portrayed in high-detailed character models
- TEKKEN 8 continues the tragic saga of the Mishima and Kazama bloodlines and their world-shaking father-and-son grudge matches
- TEKKEN 8 will feature exciting new gameplay focused on “Aggressive” tactics including the new “Heat System”
- In the new single-player mode ‘Arcade Quest’, players can create their own avatar and conquer their rivals in a variety of different arcades
- Damage and follow-ups: She practiced high-damage staple combos and wall carry, along with okizeme setups—pressure and options after an opponent is knocked down.
- Movement and space: She worked on backdash movement and sidesteps intended to make opponents miss, then punish the whiff. She also practiced dash blocking to approach while guarding.
- Controlled offense: She mentions frame traps, homing moves and lower-risk offense as parts of her approach.
- Opponent reads: She focused on spotting habits and adapting faster, using prediction to create opportunities to punish when reacting visually was unreliable.
Guitarfoxx characterizes her style as passive and says she still has a lot to learn. These are the methods she says she used; they should not be treated as independently tested coaching advice or a guaranteed route to the same rank.

How does ranked progression work in TEKKEN 8?
Bandai Namco says Ranked Match pairs players near their skill level. Wins and losses raise or lower points; reaching a point threshold and then winning a promotion match advances a player’s rank. That means the achievement reflects success through the game’s ranked progression system, rather than a one-off exhibition result. The official online-mode overview also describes leaderboards for TEKKEN Power, Ranking Points and Ranked Match Wins, with character-specific and platform-specific rankings.
Rank #3
- TEKKEN 8, the brand new part of the legendary TEKKEN range, brings the battle to a new generation!
- TEKKEN 8 continues the tragic saga of the Mishima bloodline and their world-moving battles between father and son.
- With a variety of single-player content, such as the all-new Arcade Quest mode and a comprehensive customization system for characters and avatars, TEKKEN 8 offers the most exciting experience yet.
Why does she avoid the accessibility mode in competition?
Guitarfoxx says she appreciates that the game includes visual accessibility settings, but does not use its visual accessibility mode in competitive play because she considers the current implementation unfair to an opponent or difficult to use in an in-person tournament. Dexerto reports her concern that tournament players share a screen and console, and that unfamiliar settings could overwhelm an opponent. This is her view of the practical and competitive trade-offs; it does not establish that tournaments generally prohibit accessibility features.
